i just bought this stuff after i had saw your clip but i don't know how 2 connect it with my keyboard "Yamaha S900". Can you guy help me figure out this stuff ? appreciate so much.
hi, what midi data does the breath controller control? only the Expression channel? is this plugin "the trumpet" specified for breath controlled expression to get better sound results? Or could i achieve similar results by breath controling e.g. a saxophone sample of Quantum Leap Goliath?
I know absolutely nothing about this stuff, but I know somebody who uses this device with his guitar to do some really crazy effects. How exactly does it work?
to use plugins with a guitar you need a MIDI pickup like the Roland GK-3 and a converter that translates the data coming from the guitar into something the computer can understand. I am using a VG-99 for that. Works like a charme!
KAB is a nice lib of several brass instruments and represents only a fraction of the articulations that these instruments offer. It also has no keyswitching and is therefore rather awkward to use. You will be better of getting the Samplemodeling Trumpet and Sax! Much more realistic and easier to achieve great results with
the best way would be to have BC3A, but you can use an expressions pedal. also there is an app for Mac called MidiPipe which uses the Mac driver to remap cc1 to c11, and you'd switch back and forth from your keyboard ctrlr and that driver in your DAW and go back and forth. there's a tutorial here on that by the guy who made the trumpet official demo
yeh, but it solves it again for only about 10minutes then starts doing it again
like when i do a FALL on articulations there will be a horrible POP sound then it starts doing it on the notes, you may be able to help with this 2.
i have a yamaha bc3 breath and its hard to control it like you have in this video, how is yours set up?
mine doesnt work so well.i have it so if i blow it goes all the way to 127 but without blowing its on 60-ish.its to hard to go from 0-127 and theres a small delay
i have fiddled with that yep, but it's like really hard to from 0-127 not fun to play if you know what i mean, and there's a little delay i can get from about 60-127 without killing myself blowing,
the short manual for Mr Sax T tells to deactivate the instrument track, "to dramatically reduce CPU load"
>ANY vsti will click and pop if you don't have enough CPU cycles for the load, and this one is apparently a heavy beast. That's the reality of DAW. This is why people buy expensive machines. I just got a 2x quad core Pro Mac, at 9 large for instance.
thanks for the help, but its fine now. The problem wasnt i dont have enough CPU or anything like that, my mac has really good specs and i was really anoyed when it was not working, but there was a bug in the update of the trumpet, good old sample modeling fixed it for me :)
How do you make that rolling effect at the beginning?

If you Yamaha keyboard has an input for the BC3A breathcntroller you can connect it directly to that port.
You must activate the breathcontrol mode in the Samplemodeling instrument and make sure that you are sending controller 11.
If the brathcontrol send Control2 you can change that setting in the Controller mapping page of the instrument.
Then blow into the BC3 and play notes on your keyboard.
You can also use an expression pedal to control the timbre and dynamics if you dont have the BC3.

I can't wait till they add trombone, clarinet, etc. really good stuff. This sounds really beautiful and realistic.

great videos guys i really appreciate it, we are from brazil and we really liked this video ...

the breathcontroler creates breathcontrol data CC2. You can transform that data into any other controller using most sequencers.
In the Trumpet it controls the volume and the timbre. In a regular sampler you would only control volume.
If you want this level of realism you have no choice but get the Samplemodeling instruments.

Has anyone compared this to AMG's Kick Ass Brass? I would love to know which to get if not both.

I have KAB and you cant really compare the two.
KAB is a nice lib of several brass instruments and represents only a fraction of the articulations that these instruments offer. It also has no keyswitching and is therefore rather awkward to use. Thanks! I'll pick it up ASAP.

get the bundle! Its 20% off the list price
215€ for both instruments and the Trumpet is actually 7 different ones!

if you have a modwheel you can map it to that but then you will loose the modwheel for vibrato control
the best way is with a BC3 breathcontroller
Digitalaudiodesign 3 years ago
That sounds incredible. I've got to get me one of those breath controllers!

i have it now for logic!
on mac!
but there's a problem, after about 10 minutes it starts CLIPPING and POPPING and its really anoying! :(
NI wont do anything for me!!!!

have you tried to restart the kontaktplayer engine?

jamez123123 3 years ago
did you try using the little controls at the side of the BC3?
They determine the range and sensivity.
Mine covers the full range from 0-127.
Digitalaudiodesign 3 years ago
i have fiddled with that yep, but it's like really hard to from 0-127 not fun to play if you know what i mean, and there's a little delay i can get from about 60-127 without killing myself blowing,
yours from 0-127 looks fun :)
jamez123123 3 years ago
how is the bc3 connected to your sequencer? Maybe there is another sensivity setting in the keyboard that you use.
I use the MIDISolutions Breathcontrol converter. Pretty pricey but does the job

there really good.

it wasnt possible in version 1 so i selected multiple tracks in logic to make it look like a continous one.
but i think the latest update makes it possible to change to mutes with a controller.
Digitalaudiodesign 3 years ago
how are you changing the mutes on the same track?
do you just change it when you want to change and does it record it like that :)
jamez123123 3 years ago
The Kontaktplayer is included in the product. You need it to run the sound. If you have kontakt you can use that as well.
Its pretty eaqsy to use in Logic.
To get the most out of it i would suggest a breathcontroller like the Yamaha BC-3.
Digitalaudiodesign 3 years ago
aw thankyou!
im hopefully going to get this over the christmas time....for logic pro 8 so it helps that you've done this!
do you just need to buy the trumpet and nothing else? 'cause they make a big deal about kontakt player :S ?
and is it simpal enough to use in logic :)?
