Hi, I'm probably going to buy this netbook if you can confirm one thing for me please :D
You say, "+ youtube and hulu works fine. but HD will stutter", but how about just a regular 720p video like from a video camera? (ie. not streaming online)
because I vlog quite a lot and it would be useful to be able to see what I've recorded on my netbook! :D thanks!
@dablet00 I found a video on youtube of someone watching 720p fine on their asus 1008 - which has same internal specs as your 1018p i think. Anyway, luckily, the UK version of the 1018p comes with a N475 1.83 ghz processor. It actually arrived today but haven't had a chance to test any HD vids out yet. EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THIS NETBOOK :D

@tempuser42
i opened a 720p MKV file, vid stuttered.
i tried a 1080p MTS file from my camcorder, vid stuttered.
i guess your best bet is go for a netbook with ION processor.

@tempuser42 Does the UK version have a fingerprint reader?
It appears as if the 1018p in this video does not have the fingerprint reader...as I have seen in some other videos.

@wingedlightning Yeah, the UK version DOES have a fingerprint reader :)

@dablet00
Try Media Player Home Cinema + CoreAVC external decoder
it's the most efficient software decoder and especially it can take full advantage of Hyperthreading Technology
with that software 720p are ok and even some not complex 1080p

@MaverickU2
I mean local video on the HD, the online ones like Hulu or Youtube are heavier on the cpu
