  • I think Kevin Meayers is with out doubt the finest of all the music arrangers for fairground organs today. It's real quality compared with some of the poor and inferior music that comes from other people. Especially the computer music. There is no artistry in the music at all.

  • What a fantastic arrangement of the great artist of such big hits.

  • I always thought this organ was a Gavioli! Its GDSF catalogue entry never says it's a Marenghi! Apparently it was built in 1895 - wasn't Marenghi working for Gavioli then?

  • @ceredigio This is the confusing thing. Everyone says its a marenghi. But spot the deliberate mistake... Whats written on the Facade?

  • @Mclaren1O Gavioli!

  • @ceredigio Thur proving both my, yours and dorsets argument.

  • @Mclaren1O That's because the facade thats on now isn't the original one with this organ.

  • @ceredigio And if you look on the organs facade, you'll notice it says '1890'. All very confusing.

  • @StuartMulcrow Goff Radcliffe's organ is a Gavioli with a Marenghi front! And the Nash Brothers' organ that says 'Gebroeder Wellerhaus' on the front is not a Wellerhaus at all!

  • One of the crew from the Reeder's 89 key Marenghi brought over the book to play on the Robinson's Gavioli when I was at the Riverside Festival and Dorothy played to see what it sounded like on the Gavioli.

    Ben

  • And how did it sound, ben?

  • @118Verbeek It sounded different with out brass trumpet parts on the Robinson's Gavioli

  • Both arrangements by Kevin Meayers.
