  • awesome

  • @hazem88

look for the book "bach for bass by josquin des pres", i have it on pdf format

  • h88 do the notation. its excruciating at first, but you'll thank yer self.

  • comienza a los 2:00 min

  • comienza a los 2:00

  • bach se está revolcando en su tumba al oir esto!

  • i really like this song played on an electric and this tempo. it sounds awesome.

  • Dude, that's awesome!

  • Guy-Guitarist: Serious Rush fans yes; still am. Check the other posts. Two things on speed: have heard organists do it faster, I think speed is okay. Also, this came towards the end of the night, I was pumped, hard to slow down; had to go kinda slow to keep accuracy up.

  • they definitely should have tried it slower..

  • Yeah, they started rushing... it sort of diminished the greatness of it a little.

  • I bet these guys are Rush fans.

  • thats fucking sick!! love it

  • andate a lavorare

  • Hey, don't down yourselves. If he had been able to see the instruments you were playing before you played, he might have dug it. I know that Mozart sure as shooting would have loved it. It is too bad that 3/4 of your audience would have had not clue what you were playing. Especially the classical guitar styles you were playing before the fugue.

  • I've been into Bach on my bass for 30 yrs and I really like this bass player. He doesn't go for the rick snarl, but the line rocked. As for what JS would have thought, I'm sure there would be shouting and throwing things, ending with beer consumption.

  • damn yo guy can mimic bach makin it tightwork the melody damn go classical go rock fuck hiphop

  • Many of you really don't think that these musicians have a alot of in common with Bach and many other Baroquemusicians. When you comepare a fuge, a toccata, a fantasia and so one with a guitarsolo it's actually quite similar

  • true metal is based on composition.

newer age metal is just garbage and recycled riffs, growling, screaming, and otherwise just being faggots.

but yeah, classical and rock are the main reasons 84-97ish metal kicked so much ass

  • True. Very early Black Sabbath had a lot of classical riffs in it some thought to be demonic originated because of the altered 3rds & 5ths. His lead player had a work accident and made a fake finger tip that gave him the altered tone sound. Watch an episode of history of Metal for further info.

  • I really disliked the drums during it

  • epic win lol love the speeding effect

  • your wrong in your discription, bach would have loved it. he was into creativity being that he himself was creative and this guy fella has a ton a creativity

  • Sure, Bach was a complexity freak and would have loved a simplification of one of his works with 3 instruments. Right.

  • It doesn't have to be a simplification. It was written for one instrument...

Anyways, with the two hands and the footpedals, there are no more than 3 voices in that fugue

  • hey that was actually pretty cool.

  • this is great! Yngwie does a great version of this song too!

    80's Rock Rules!!

  • this is sooo siiik!

  • This is so sweet!!!!!

  • this is fucking awesome

  • hi mslorine, what is name of this band???

this is only metal cover of this song... please i search this :)

  • Hiya Benzyh!

The name of the band at the time of this recording was STONEHENGE. Cheers

  • i don't find this song... can you update on rapidshare please :) ? this is the best cover...

  • hi mslorine , what is name of this band???? this only metal cover of this song... I search :)

  • Sad to think that most of the audience probably had no clue what you were playing.

  • This if my favourite fugue.

  • what band is this?

  • what band is this?

  • FUCKIN METAL!!

  • Bach may not have liked it...but I did! Awesome!

  • 2:00

  • nicely done

  • not my favorite version of the song (i loved it until the drums came in) but still a really cool tribute to the fugue

  • That was great!

  • the solo is never in the same key as the rest of the song

  • Hmmm, not sure whether that is a compliment or a complaint, or really what you mean. Assuming you are referring to the blues thing, its tonal center is E. I used to like phrygian mode, natural and harmonic minor, and E blues. I guess you could call the "key" G major or E minor (E blues) am I am sure some of the solo uses those notes(hmm, not sure it matters). Its art, it does not have to follow rules. A better observation to make is whether it was interesting or enjoyable to listen to.

  • i didnt mean the bach bit, that bit was orgasmic. i meant the shitty solo leading up to it. XD

  • Holy Fuck1!! Awesome as Hell!!!

  • Fucking awesome.

  • fucking awesome.

  • who's to say that Bach would not have appreciated it, I for one, think that he would have gone for it. He was quite the improviser, and even though I am more classically oriented, I do appreciate a good electric guitar player. Keep on rockin', as they say, dude!

  • Freaking awesome.

  • Fucking awesome.

  • why wouldnt have bach liked it?

  • very cool. that tapping was horrendous though.

  • That's fuckin great!

  • So it can be done.

  • wow! Bach is actually worth a shit in this world after all! It's a good thing all those countless hours he spent writing dry exercises to torture music students for centuries to come didn't go to waste!

  • How can you insult one of the most genius musicians of all time by sayin he's not worth a shit? He's worth infinitly more than you are, so shut up!

  • wow, old comment, but I have to try hard to pretend I didn't just read that. It's one thing to have an opinion, opinions are subjective etc etc, but one of the just plain WRONG opinions in this world happens to be "bach sucks". Every composer that came after Bach was a disciple of Bach. Beethoven worshipped him and desperately sought after some of his manuscripts, calling Bach "the father of harmony". Mozart once stated Bach's work was something he could actually learn from (which is huge).

  • the bach part is really great

  • You guys look like douchebags, in an awesome way. That was really fucking good.

  • that's fucking cool as hell, and i'm a picky bastard.

  • bitchin.

i've been working on arranging this for three guitars, and you've got it nailed pretty well.

  • Wonderfull execution of this magnificent classic.Bravo!!

  • this is bad ass.

  • LOL so bad but so good.

  • I actually liked the drums in it. but i would like to hear a third guitar voice. and a louder bass.

  • Well, it is a live recording in a club which accounts for the bass not coming through the recording as well as the guitar. If you have a computer speaker system with a nice sub-woofer you can follow the bass pretty well. Since there are only the two string instruments a third voice would have been extremely difficult since the third person is a drummer. I think I did ok considering we did it live in a club and needed to not do the piece too long; it might get boring if you do it too long.

  • Not a bad tribute to Bach. I would have left out the cymbals and the hi-hats.

  • True, you seem to get only two voices, the guy on the right is obscured by the guy on the left, and the drums are rather distracting. But true, it is pretty cool.

  • very cool

  • this is cool

  • BACH ROCKS !!!

  • BACH ROCKS !!!!!!

  • damn these guys are really good

  • welcome to the world of classical music you newbs, you hear it on electric guitar and think it's awesome, but if you heard this on an organ you would think 'wow thats for fags and nerds'.

  • fucktard don't assume this is the first time anyone's heard this piece. my brass ensemble played this last night..

  • i actually was listening to the classical version when i found this so dont make assumptions

  • omfg sick

  • Wait... At 1:16 isn't that song One by Metallica?

  • What Kirk Hammett does in One is similar, right hand technique stuff, but I was not inspired by his work. More of a twist on Randy Rhodes and Eddie Van Halen's work.

    Thanks for watching!

    Cheers.

  • yeah, the right hand fretting was kind of weak, the fugue was good though, I have often thought of turning this into a metal tune.

  • Cool!

  • alot of ppl like to use bach's fugue, X Japan like kingsburg says, lol, Baroque style music if you want to be correct, not trying to be a butt =) peace to all

  • well it certainly was incredible

  • this is so metal.

    amazing.

    I love it so much.

  • Hiipiiiis :D Just kidding :) Very nice

  • Guy: guitar, John: bass and Stan: drums. Recorded September 30th, 1987 at Jezebel's in Southern California. Guy loved Bach in college and came up with this arrangement later for guitar and bass (the fugue starts at 2:00).

  • The band's name was Stonehenge.

  • Hey! they play quite good! excelent! I love Rock music and also Classical, but I never imagined how "Little Fugue In G Minor" from Bach would sound with this Rock arrangements.

Congratulations, but, can anybody tell me what the name of the band is?

    Forever Love.

    Amethyst.

    Hello, Goodbye.

  • Rose of Pain.

    X Japan

  • The band's name was Stonehenge.

  • I'm not really into rock music, but I find this very cool. Had I seen/heard Bach arrangements like this back then I might have picked up a guitar.

  • that was freakin' badass

  • that's pretty damn cool

  • Great video, love it!

  • wow these guys are pretty good! 1990s? who are they?:) very good wow

  • Damn. That kicked ass.

  • Bach, being the revolutionary of his time, would have loved this because it is more or a revolution than he could have dreamed of!

  • This shows the universality of Bach!!!

  • WTF totally un1337

  • Bach would shit himself with anger if he saw this!

  • bach would like this.

  • nonono..delete the music sheets..THEN shit him self with anger if he saw this

  • damn, this makes me love guitar even more.this sh!t is SICK!

  • the fugue starts at... 2:03

  • 2.01
