Damn this is good! The non-Wynton soloist does remarkably well considering the experience gap between the the two soloists. Wynton's riffs seem to melodically twist and turn to a greater degree than his partner, but is it really fair to compare Wynton with anyone? Enjoyable piano solo as well...very aggresive.

wilm923 you obviously don't do growling because this riley kid is amazing. he is the best trumpet player on plunger that i have seen in forever. and if you ask me he showed up that guy what was his name... oh yeah, WYNTON FREAKING MARSALIS so you obviously have no idea about what a good trumpet player really sounds like. if you did you wouldn't write crap about such a good player. and just so you know this is one of the most amazing solo batles ever. and this kid also got into julliard that day.

wow! Thanks for posting this -- I saw Riley and the band do The Shepherd last night and was blown away. I heard about this, and I'm glad you didn't let the ushers get you down. Wish you could have filmed the whole thing!
