  • I didn't want to listen to Ulver's new material because of a friend who told me their Black period was much better. I learned not to judge things before taste them. This is genius.

  • @travics77 "black period"

    ... ew.

  • @onoez2k Lol.

  • the piano reminds me of silent hill 2

  • "credits:

ATTILA CSIHAR: Voice on III (Providence)."

    Umm... Where?

  • @immortalx50 He does the strange creaking noises near the end.

  • Distorted guitars are unnecessary for making heavy music. Ulver proved that a long time ago.

  • @snupcho umm, not really. none of their music has ever been that heavy.

  • @thychaos I don't think you've understood my point... Oh and they've been heavier than this - Blood Inside is a very heavy and tough record. There are so many layers of depth, death, insanity and loneliness in this record, that "heavy" is a small word for that. It's like the whole Universe is in pain and mourning over the end of everything that the word Love represents. At least that's how I assimilate it...

  • @snupcho, depends of the definition of heavy. i mean, on one hand if you're going by metal standards, something like deathmetal is impossible without distortion, but on the other hand if you're going by musical standards one could quite succesfully claim that Richard Wagner (for example) represented death metal of that era. the definition of heavy sounds really precise, but its actually damn vague.

  • @ozeri thats the reason why i'm here! ^^ Greatest song...does anybody know the name of the female singer?

  • @eric6manson According to the booklet it's Siri Stranger on vocals, Anyways, thumbs up for this song ^^

  • Attlia Cshihar supposed to be on this track

  • @ozeri at like 5:52 he starts. that weird ass bendy straw noise? yea thats attila. lol the dudes a mummy!

  • Seeing them at Damnation! Cant wait!

  • It's a fine piece, although I gotta say those female vocals are unnecessary. But anyway, I'm glad Ulver are back. :-)

  • @HitByTime both true : )

  • I only like the mid section of the track, It's listenable in my opinion.

  • i close my eyes and intently listen to this song... and i feel like a storm is coming... then the storm rages... and then it leaves... everything in its path in ruin. and i am the only survivor alone. epic.

  • Narrow minded BM people go watch some Immortal video and stfu. You're annoyin', for real. I listen to a lot of music, and I know metalheads more than I would...you're all the same. God bless the open minded ones.

  • totally speechless. masterpiece

  • I was listening to this today, standing in the rain waiting for the bus... so much win!

  • It's good, but how is this considered metal? This is a point of genre, not quality.

  • @CrowsofAcheron

Ulver transcended genres a long time ago.

  • This is a good example of what happened to In Flames. Started out great, then went down the shitter.

  • @Neurotripsicks You sir are obviously close-minded, now while I think Bergtatt and Nattens Madrigal are two of the finest BM albums ever produced, and I love my metal more than anything and usually hate trip-hop and minimalistic music. Ulver just does it so dang well that you can't help but appreciate it, it is fine if you don't like the music but in no way is this crap. On musical and atmospheric terms you do realize that Ulver produces some of the greatest music records to date right.

  • @NarkalepticNinja "On musical and atmospheric terms you do realize that Ulver produces some of the greatest music records to date right."

That's your opinion and it means jack shit to me. Face it, they're worth 3 maybe 4 albums, then it's shit, just like Opeth. Good then shit. See it? Music with heart at the beginning, then music with shit at the end.

  • @Neurotripsicks Well Neurotripsicks calling them shit is your opinion you obviously are just closed-minded and only consider one type of music to be good music, are you going to call the Beatles jack-shit for selling out, and creating some of the greatest records for rock music ever, are you going to call The Faceless technically unpreficient just because they dont play Black Metal. You are just composed of ignorance you idiot. learn to appreciate all music and dont condemn yourself to one genre

  • @NarkalepticNinja I disagree about music and atmospheric terms. In terms of atmosphere I have had bands like agalloch, have a nice life, planning for burial, afterlives do far more. Just because there is a lot of echo, reverb and decay does not necassarily indicate atmosphere. There is far too much of that here.not to say I dont enjoy it. It is just not as atmospheric as you say. It is still quite atmospheric but I have heard better in that department. In terms of music all i can say is: really?

  • @kylefjeldheim well i guess that is where they differ, I have heard bands like Agalloch, etc. but Ulver just does it the best for me. I do think Ulver's music though will be great or crappy though depending on your mood, Ulver are an atmospheric mood music band and I guess i have just been lucky enough to be in the right mood for them.

  • @NarkalepticNinja I see your point. I suppose my best way to put this is to compare them to how they are for radiohead is for me. and before people get mad about me posting about radiohead here i am just using them as an example. They are great musicians and brilliant sonic technicians yet there are very few instances where I can actually listen to them. Most of the time it just doesn't do it for me. And Ulver is more like radiohead for me. I appreciate it but can't always listen to it.

  • @kylefjeldheim If you don't like it you don't like it and that is completely respectable. I myself don't like Radiohead and I can only enjoy Ulver about 7 out of the 10 times I listen to them. That of course kind of goes for every band with me. I have bands for sulkish moods, exuberant moods, and everything inbetween and it is in those moments that certain bands shine and certain bands fail. I am at least happy seeing you give credit to Ulver where credit is due.

  • @NarkalepticNinja yeah. I am the exact same way with the moods. I know what you mean.

  • @Neurotripsicks i r lawlz to this comment

  • astounding.... and proof that "Black Metal" musicians are as good or better than any other in Metal, IMO, to see the diversity these guys can put out, especially in contrast to what the cliche is.

  • @killerpeaches7 I think Ulver wouldn't be happy with you calling them "black metal musicians". They are very distanced towards metal scene in general, and, by gods, they haven't done anything "metal" (not even close to "black metal") since 14 years..

  • Apparentely, Attila Csihar also does vocals on this track...

    ..thefuck? O.o

  • @Metaalhoofdje123 He probably did the weird croaking sounds near the end, from about 7:05 and on.

  • beautiful

  • Song of the year

  • @rawNation This one and England, yes :)

  • The piano melody reminds me of the one from the Silent Hill movie.

  • This would be the perfect soundtrack to roaming around a dark, solitary, post-apocalyptic world. Dark, haunting, beautiful.

  • @NecronCommander fallout

  • this is so perfect.

  • amazing..

  • love it <3

what is the name of the singer woman?

  • @bernadotte913 Siri Stranger

  • @anwerso thank you : )

  • @bernadotte913 She's called Siri Stranger i believe...

  • This track is absolutely amazing.
