Wow... Dr parth ! ur work is really appreciable...im a medical student..but i have learned so much from ur videos for which a person needs to spend whole life in the hospitals, listening each and every patient.. I am really really grateful to you.May God bless u
The S2 split is best heard with the DIAPHRAGM SIDE of the stethoscope, and the S3 is best heard with the BELL SIDE of the stethoscope and in the apex of the heart...
What does it mean when you have the fixed split that is the exact sound my heart makes and I have some health issues right now ....but ive had every heart test they can do like 6 months ago and they said I was fin ..its fustrating I cant find anything other then technical information about the fixed split thing .
this guy dr parth s solanki is simply THE NICEST GUY IN THE UNIVERSE for uploading these series and young doctors ans students worldwide are grateful. THANK YOU !!!
i cant hear the splitting

My 17-year old, healthy son has this S2 split. Isn't that somewhat normal?
tjttzcspplt 11 months ago
@tjttzcspplt Splitting of the second heart sound is normal during inspiration only
batgirlspineapples16 10 months ago
@batgirlspineapples16 Thanks, my teacher thinks it may be a murmur.

I'm a little confused though - is S1 audible on this clip or is this S2 only?

hi dr parth! how can you tell if it's the splitting of the s2 or midsystolic that you are hearing? tnx so much
6812pink 2 years ago
@6812pink I believe asking the px to inspire and hold their breath will widen an s2 split and may help differentiate.

@athanu123 use the bell. If the sound disappears when you use the diaphragm, then you have an s3.

Splitting changes with inspiration\expiration unless its fixed .
