  • Loved the John Peel sessions. This has to be one of the greatest ever unsigned bands. This is by no means the only great song. What a shame they never had their chance.

  • wow finally found come in tokio - loved the Peel sessions - esp 'save me from falling'. There were some good bands around at the time too - personal coulmn and the persuaders - seen them in London - oh many years ago 1983 I think, around the time I got into the best band in the world The chameleons.

  • The most criminally of un-signed Liverpool bands from the early to mid 80's.....memories of the Ministry rehearsals.save me from falling.

  • No you were nt dreaming , the Gig at Kirkby was headlined by Billy Bragg as Mari Wilson had to put out last minute due to the death of her father.

The gig poster had a pic of the Chief Constable of Merseyside Ken Oxford on looking very glum during the Toxteth Riots. All the bands mentioned played along with The Builders and The High Five and was part of a number of large events promoted by Winston Smith Promotions, based at the Picket in Liverpool. (Winston Smith is from Orwells 1984)

  • I remember seeing Come In Tokio at Kirkby footy ground way back when. I remember Seb's Men, western promise, The Lotus eaters, I think Billy brag Headlined. Does anyone remember this gig or whas I dreaming. I think even cook da books played and personal column. I wonder if Pauline ever went to this gig I last saw her at a Western promise gig at mountford hall. Where can i get some Come In Tokio Stuff. Cheers John for the clip . Pete
