  • @CadmanFooty

    it was more important.

  • And today is the twenty-fith anniversary.

  • in some countries strikers still have beards! LOL

  • How could we lose to Oxford. Embarrassing :(

  • I was there in the QPR end that day ! gutted as they had had a good run to get there beating Liverpool at Anfield and saving a penalty there, but totally outplayed on the day!

  • that first goal reminds me so much of matt green's goal turning and lashing it into the back of the net..

  • WANG computers, awesome!

  • We always score three at Wembley!

  • oxford would have been in europe but wants to the liverpool fans they missed out.

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • I was 23 back in 86, my daughter jodie was born 4 days before that final so you can imagine as an Oxford United supporter it was one hell of a fantastic week for me. My daughter was wearing an Oxford United baby grow,, had party after in Wendoverafter game. had great players, hebbard, houghton ( Liverpool) a certain John Aldridge came along (went to Liverpool) dean saunders ( Liverpool i think).

  • oh the glory years shame cant be like that now i love oxford utd i work for the club now

  • I was there aged 8,amazing match, but the feat seems more and more remarkable the older I get.

  • i was there that day in the QPR end, and we were totally outplayed, oxford deserved the win, good crowd too, rangers had around 35000 there, about 20000 up on the week before!, but great day out

  • @chozie76 Try 60,000 mate of the 90k

  • @ricroc7777 WHERE DID 60.000 QPR COME FROM THEN WAS ONLY 15.000 AT LOFTUS RD FOR LIVERPOOL SEMI FINAL AND ONLY 3.500 QPR AT CHELSEA IN QF REPLAY. BOTTLED IT AND GLORY HUNTERS JOKE CLUB

  • great memories! the noise in our end was mental!!! c`mon!

  • strikers do not have beards anymore

  • LOL. Jeremy Charles didn't always have a beard. He had previously played for QPR too.

  • did not know that, ah what's the chances of these two being in a league cup final again aye!

  • Good point. I think the closest we've had recently was when Middlesbrough played Bolton in the 2004 League Cup Final. By the way, Jim Smith had managed Oxford from the 4th to the 1st division in the previous years and had only moved to QPR at the start of this season - only to lose to his former club in this final!

  • ah yes jim smith, didn't he managed you again recently, how did you do last season?

  • Friendly this year!

We'll show you how to play football

    yellows

  • OXFORD is in the 5th division now, really? the NON LEAGUE..............

  • Great days for Oxford but WTF shirt sponsor is WANG LOL!!!!!

  • Without a doubt the best day of my life. RIP Maurice Evans.

  • Comment removed

  • If I remember rightly, we beat Arsenal 3-0 at home in the last game of that season to stay up and send Ipswich down. It seems so surreal when you look at what's happened since.

  • Great day, the best team won, we will be back!

  • give me an O

    give me an X

    give me an F

    give me an O

    give me an R

    give me an D

WHAT DO YOU GET? OXFORD!!! OXFORD !!! OXFORD!!!

come on you yellows back to the league we go, in ten years i can see us playying qpr again at the new wembley in the cup final. come on boys

  • Yeah because that Scottish trash you support are good aren't they.

SPL is the equivalent to the setanta shield.

  • what a fucking stupid ignorant cunt. celtic are about as good as scunthorpe united. no wonder we don't want rangers and celtic in our leagues. stupid cunts like this chatting shit. see you jimmy. spl is the equivalent of dog and duck pub league.

  • celtic are a good team but shit away from home

  • I have a lump in my throat watching that footage. We'll be back!

  • By years of financial mis-management and very bad managerial appointments, especially in the Kassam era.. Kemp,Rix and especially Talbot whom I hold personally responsible for us going out of the league. Complete @rsehole who ripped the players confidence to shreds, Davies, Ashton, Hackett, Bradbury.. Good players who would have kept us up but sold for pittance cos the manager wanted them out.

  • CLEVER TREVOR!!!!!!!!!!

  • To think the club in that video is the same club that is now the fucking blue sq premier. I ask myself how its possible for such a drop to happen.

  • Yellows <3

  • the worst performance from a QPR team i have ever seen in 30yrs of going, but oxford totally deserved too win, they played fantastic.

  • aww i was born a few months later dam it!!!

  • Indeed, those were the days. Thanks for posting it. I can't believe that we're now having to watch Blue Square Premier football.

  • It's depressing is'nt it, even more so with all the rumours that are flying around at the moment. The fact that we are playing Northwitch Victoria tonight and i am not at all confident just sums the current situation up!

I'd be happy just to get back to league two let alone as high as this (we will never be this good again!!)

  • Hello.

I'll be listening to the game on BBC Radio Oxford via the web. I read the fan blogs on the Oxford Mail site (that's where I read your post about this video). I think that the weight of expectation gets to the players. By the way, my favourite live game at the Manor was against Leeds Utd(also featured on this site).

  • Those were the fucking days.

  • i'll never forget the noise when little Ray Houghton scored.

One of the best days of my life.......

  • fantastic stuff mate,a wonderful day,I just wish I was there.and wasnt it great seeing wembley packed with yellow and blue, brilliant.
