this song was written by the great Peter Rowan (who did play with Jerry in the group Old and In The Way). These guys do a really nice version of this, one of my absolute favorite Rowan tunes.

Peter Rowan did compose for the NRPS, however NRPS recorded and released the song in the very early 70's. Jerry Garcia was in the band.
