  • tutorials are easy to understand, but I forget everyting ;p

  • "i wish i had no sausage" "i love old men"..... say whhhhhhat :P

    no... but you are just awesome! thank you so much!

  • What does changing it from women to men have to do with respect?

  • tutorial.replace ('function','method')

  • bucky you are my idol LOL

  • that chuckle at 5:03 made me chuckle too xD

  • o god u using bad words

  • it's 12:11 in the morning and your jokes crack me up. it helps so i can understand clearly what you're talking about. :))

  • @elvisniperx 12.11 is not morning! Its afternoon. LOL at you!

  • @supersushi269 umm. 12.11 can be in the morning. there's no 12.11 in the night.

  • @elvisniperx There is 12.11 at night

  • @supersushi269 huh? i posted the comment when the sun is striking at me. so you would say that it is not 12.11 in the afternoon?!

  • @elvisniperx Short time memory loss hun?

  • @supersushi269 hmmm, noob or just stupid. There is NO 12.11 at night. It would be 12.11 in the morning (12.11 a.m.) or 12.11 in the afternoon (12.11 p.m.).

  • @BubblingDuckling Not everyone lives in Norway like you -_- 12.11AM is considered to be night and It remains night until twilight!

  • all this hoss talk is making me wanna dukes of hazzard.

  • also for the randstr.lower() you can do randstr.upper() guess what that does lol

  • get the fuck off strings noob, you've been on them for 7 tuts!

  • @michaelftw300 that's not because he is a noob, it's because we are noobs...

  • Really funny, I watched your Python tut two half years after you posted it, cause I finished some of you 2010,2011 tuts and they are really good, your tut really gets me into different computing languages......

  • OMG 19 tutorials and still on strings....

  • You could have just changed the old to young. Same effect, while still maintaining respect

  • Bucky's mind: "the truth is that i love old women, or actually no, I love old men

  • I have a ney catchphrase!

    Hey hoss there hoss bessie hoss hoss.

  • So i get the ideas that he is going through here but whenever i type "truth" after using the truth.lower or truth.replace method it has not changed the actual "truth" variable. Could anyone help out with how to actually change the "truth" variable completely?

  • Comment removed

  • @smakdemround truth = truth.lower

    It takes the variable truth, and stores it with the value of the variable truth with the function .lower()

  • The examples cracked me up. Really appreciate the tutorials, Bucky!

  • instead of changing old to young..he chooses to replace women with men..WTF?!

    seriously tho..nice tutorials dude!

  • I wish i Had NO sausage

  • hey bucky after i replace woman with man , and writing truth , it brings me back the woman , so whats the use of replace if its not function?

  • @romanhorol

    Because strings are immutable, which means that they, like tuples, cannot be changed. In order to get a changed version you must assign the changed string to a new variable.

  • I got my boots on, hit me!!

  • 'I Love old men'

    'wish had no sausage'

    what the hell is going on here!?

  • why do you love old women I think you do sex with you gran mother because jou sausage is too small

    (joke)

  • no sausage!!

    why bucky why?

  • bucky has some weird fetishes...

  • I'd rather not be a member of that dating web site...

  • Why do I need boots to learn?

  • Why didn't you just change old to young instead of women to men? o,O

  • reverse-penis envy 3:07

  • you need to slow down

  • for some reason, when i tried to "glue.join(sequence)" it spit out an error about how my 'list' object has no attribute 'join'

    i retried this multiple times, naming then differently, and restarting the program as well. version 2.7.1

  • @TheTwiggsMGW glue.join(sequence) works for me and I have the same version, perhaps you have mispelled something, like the "glue" or "sequence" words.

  • @TheTwiggsMGW This happens when you make glue into a list by using glue=["hoss"] instead of a string: glue="hoss". Could that be the reason? (I'm quite new at this but since I got the same error message I had at least one explanation).

  • Comment removed

  • I failed this first example epicly. I accidentally attempted to 'join' hoss to a single string (which is a sequence of characters instead of the sequence of strings we were instructed to do. Basically, "Hey now bessie, nice chops." became "'Hhossehossyhoss hossnhossohosswhoss hossbhossehossshossshossihossehoss,hoss hossnhossihosschossehoss hosschosshhossohossphossshoss.'" I cracked up irl when I realised my mistake.

  • Wam bam thankyou mam, hoss, ilove old women.

    BUCKY YOU SIMPLY ROCK. the best teacher on web

  • sorry for the jokes but is there a code like this

    randstr.replace('motorcycle')

  • sausage

  • he dosent have no sausage lol

  • hass hass lol sorry Bucky its just funny

  • i wish he did randstr.upper() lol

  • TRUE

  • thanx ^^

  • Bucky's a homo say what?

  • Wtf is hoss dude

  • Whats hoss?

  • you really love old womens?=)

  • @MegaXakep1 you can't say "womans". Plural of WOMAN is WEMAN. век живи век учись =)

    oh btw

    BUcKY U'RE PERVERT!

  • @hydrogenix ай блин точно=)

  • @hydrogenix WEMAN xDDDD I'm sure you were joking and meant women but this is just gold.

  • Comment removed

  • @RifleboytheLPfan weman XD dunno what the fuck happend with my brain but fuck it's funny XD i meant women but i wrote... well... what i wrote lol XD

  • list='Your vids are awsome'

    glue='AWSOME'

    glue.join(list)

    xD

  • whats the difference with method and functions?

  • Could the 'join' method be used to add junk data say for encrypting? how is it removed? using the del method? so glue.del() ?

    could you join a randomized integer string that was different at every place it was added to say a program code, and then have it removed when the code wants to run?... or would the random string be the same string every time it is added... is there a way to randomize it before each time it is added, so you would get

    hey1526there47563bessie38473hoss38748

  • I wish i had no sausage, I love old men haha you alright bucky?

  • @stpwns

  • HAHA! I love old men!

  • What "hoss" means according to urban dictionary:

    "One who is a beast that can basically do anything he wants. He is usually loved by all and a ladies man. He could break anyone or anything in half. Hoss is a compliment.

    Example Sentence: Man, that Stefan is a hoss. He could kill a freshman with one stare down."

  • Actually, I think the second definition makes more sense considering how he always talks about cows and bessie:

    "Hoss: A southern colloquial nickname for partner, a term of friendship.

    Example sentence: You betta' get that grass mowed, hoss."

  • super

  • 212 YouTube waters like old men.

    :D

  • I'm laughing my ass of when watching these tutorials.... And learning a bunch of stuff

  • can anyone tell me how to sort the stuff inside your string

  • It's not the fact that you said you love old men that is funny, it's that you got 16000 people following your tutorial to type that =)

  • i wish i had no sausage lol

  • Thanks po

  • These are the VERY basics of python. Whenever I need help with the basic syntax, I always come here for help.

  • Bucky, are you gay?

  • bucky loves old men wtf lol

  • bucky you should be president

  • Ummm.... I watched all your tutorials, none of them have like if answer is yes say this..... like for a text based game? Or add graphics? I'm confused...

  • @hobolikespie11 what do you mean

  • thenewboston rocks

  • haha this is helping a bunch thanks. These are some of the best strings youve come up with.

  • @hobolikespie11 to use python in a shell, like linux, type the command python. What i do however is i type idle, and that opens up the python shell like the one he is using.

  • i love old men? WTF?

  • @intindse Different people have different tastes...

    lol

  • @intindse i love old men, i'm gay

  • please come to my school in germany and be my computer science teacher O_O

  • "I wish I had NO sausage"

    I think a certain someone is trapped in a certain something's body...

  • haha i love old men wtf.. ur tutorials are helping a lot, thanks.

  • Sausage?

  • wtf is hoss anyway? lol yer helping me a lot dude... yer awesome

  • @DSlack3r what is yer

  • @GraphicAbility your

  • @DSlack3r idk im still googeing ...

  • @DSlack3r

    hoss = horse

  • @DSlack3r I believe it's a hooved ungulate that eats hay, pulls wagons, that people ride on and make glue and dog food out of.

  • @DSlack3r

    one who is a beast that can basically do anything he wants. He is usually loved by all and a ladies man. He could break anyone or anything in half. Hoss is a compliment.

  • @DSlack3r Hoss is ur everyday random macho guy, who could break anyoneone in half, do anything he wants, is loved by all and gets all the women, but the dictionary just replies horse when i type in hoss

  • @DSlack3r I think Hoss is Bucky's last name... just a guess tho.

  • tuna

  • thanks... all the tutorials are really helpful!

  • i wish i had no sausage, lolwut

  • thanks Bucky

  • Just give your sausage to old women (or men) and it's a win win :P

  • why don't you want to have sausage?

  • So he wishes he had no sausage, he likes men and old women....

    Bucky, Betty Hoss Hoss Hoss Hoss thank you Man..

    LastSent.Replace('Man','Mam')

  • ?  ,

  • Give me your sausage

  • I also wish I had no sausage

  • I hope he cover's GUIs soon....

  • No he just likes saying 'lets go ahead and'.

  • i like the tuts, they are mad helpful for a complete noob like myself;

    but i have to ask:

    are you slightly autistic or something?

  • He is not autistic. The real question is are you autistic for thinking he's autistic. He's a normal person.

  • replace method is not replacing it permanently. truth.replace just RETURNS the new string, but the string "truth" stays the same:

    >>> truth="I love old women"

    >>> truth.replace("old","young")

    'I love young women'

    >>> truth

    'I love old women'

  • Note that the replace method dose not change the content of the variable to which it is applied. In the case of Bucky's last example, that talks about variable "truth", the original variable remains the same. Try it out!

    Great Vid

  • You say hoss 3 times at the end, there are only 2 hosses at the end. You are getting tired :-(

  • I was expecting him to replace old with young. You never know what's going to happen next.

  • did the old men take your sausage?

  • replace 'old' with 'young'

  • >>>thisvid.tut = rocks

    True

    xD

  • @ILCAC3 should be

    >>> thisvid.tut == 'rocks'

    True

    =p

  • @ILCAC3 Wrong syntax, should be:

    >>>thisvid.tut == rocks

    :D

  • @ILCAC3 Blah blah traceback stuff thsivid.tut = rocks

    CoolnessError: coolness 'rocks' is not good. It should be called thebesttut.

  • @ILCAC3 It's actually:

    >>> "Awesomeness" in thisvid

    True

  • buckysvideos.love ( )

    ^_^

  • forgot randstr.upper :(

    cool video

  • so=+

    [I wish i Had NO sauage] so [i can love old men]
