Your history is poor. It was a Scottish King that took over the English throne. After the death of Elizabeth I, King James VI of Scotland succeeded the English throne so if anything Scotland took over England. The union of the two crowns in 1707 was also of mutual agreement and was very beneficial to Scotland and England, together they created the worlds greatest ever Empire. Why should Scotland be independent from the UK? There is no reason that outweighs the benefits we gain from the union.
