I think this dance was okayy, the hat idea was fine, but was the dance only based on using the hats??? i think this could be better if there was more hand movements, and the beginning was TOO LONg especially with the number of people, the two girls whowaited, waited forever, but yeah. Nice job.

The Viet hats are not a discrace to our Hmong culture. The hats are part of the dance and if you carefully listen to the song, it's telling and describing pasted memories of their shared love, which constitutes the part when they were still farming together. And this is why the hats are used to describe the song.

Does it really matter. It's just a prop that they are using for the song. I mean its not like they tensionally purposely used that hat. It's just like any other props that any other dance group would use. We don't see anything wrong with it. & plus you don't see us going around in them indian outfits. Something that also doesn't fit us hmong people.

i don't think you guys really need the vietnamese hats. i mean if you guys want to use it then it probably would look better if you didn't wear lub hauv puam(sp?). like you could just braid you hair and decorate it with flowers or something then use the vietnamese hat. it's looks awkward with both hmong and vietnamese hat. altho for some reason, i think the vietnamese hat just looks out of place with the hmong clothes.

I mean there is nothing wrong with using another cultures props and dancing with it. I think they look Awsome with it. And the Hat makes it look very interesting and its different.

actually i disagree, for dancing, props makes a lot of difference and is very important. costumes are especially important when performing dances. also, i don't mind that they used vietnamese hats but i think it probably look better with a different outfits...or maybe decorate the hat. it just didn't match the hmong outfits that well...or it could be because i'm not use to it.
