I'm not being an ass asking that, if there's no sound that's just straight up strange...Mess around and maybe give me some more details on why you think it's not working. I really don't think the PVR would be interfering, but I guess you never know.

Hey sup i just wanted to thank you. I just bought a turtle beach headset yesterday and i had no clue i needed a audio adapter to use it with my HDMI cable. I have the new model 360 "i guess its called 360 S" It's the one with 250gbs anyway i only have the Yellow Red White plug but its the newer one all black and with the bump on it. I did what you said "took the plastic off" and just followed the directions and it works fine it sounds great. This will last me until i order my adapter so thx.

@MANunit3dFan7 No it wont. The red cable is for the Right Audio Channel. This has nothing to do with the video signal coming through. If it still works than you're good to go. The video signal you're using is coming from the HDMI cable.

@MrFlibblewobble I've used it for over a year now with no issues at all. It's a good question though. I've received messages from people saying that they've covered the modded cord with electrical tape afterwards to avoid anything touching metal.

@977jesse I had a problem like this kind of...Whenever I switched the from input 1 to hdmi 1 my xbox would switch off and reset. Turns out this is because of my TV. I turned off power saving and now it doesn't do it. apparently the tv knows when something plugged into is on or not, so if you switch from something, it also turns that unit off, usually my blu ray player or my xbox. Try turning off the power saving option and see if that helps. Let me know what happens.

@TheOnlyMaximus Ok, if you buy the adapter you don't need to peel the plastic of like I did in this video. The adapter that you can buy for the audio out while using HDMI is thinner and therefore fits into the standard a/v slot on the xbox.
