As far as this President Obama has done makes me wonder if he is a democrat w/taking from S.S no cost of living increases & threatening the people who need it the most on medicaid & welfare instead on hitting the fat cats wallets instead? I have a idea if everyone gave 1 measley dollar a week from their checks? We can end homelessness. Why does a serial killer have it better in jail when a homeless person's only crime is being poor? He/she can die from the elements!

Capitalism breeds psychopathic behavior. As a society, we're unable to "care" for those less fortunate. It's easy to make excuses as to why someone might be on the streets, and why we shouldn't help, but in the end, that's all they are--excuses.

@failgame We do help. We have all sorts of programs---foodstamps, public housing, medicaid, etc. However, as the old saying goes, "we can bring a horse to water, but can't make him drink." Some people don't want to help themselves. They need to make the effort for anything to work.

We know for some is like almost impossible to get over with their addictions, but many are just in need of a helping hand. I remember one lady who is always in the banking district wearing a cross, she is my friend, on Good Friday she asked me to pray for her. I Don't recall praying so hard for someone in my life ever, as I did for her. She still is in the same corner where I take a turn to get my children to school, everyday. I just can't see her move from where she is and I feel Helpless.

I have been homeless twice in the last two years. After I got out of the marines I found that jobs were scarce, and the wages paid by the dead jobs I could get barely put a roof over my head. Sometimes I had to choose between gas and food. I am glad you are so much better than me and the rest of these people. I hope you get a chance to experience what it is like first hand, dumb cunt.

i watched part 1 and 2 and all the people you interviewed just broke my heart and i wish i could do more to help but the bad part is that most people whether homeless or not can barely make it to their next paycheck. it is really sad. i personally dont have that much money but i would give all my money to the homeless if i could. god bless all of them. and god bless you for hearing what they have to say.

Politicians constantly campaign for tax cuts for the rich, because there's a lot of support for it. There needs to be a sea change in what people demand from politicians and an appreciation that the increase in the gap between rich and poor isn't something that ultimately benefits anyone. Hopefully videos such as yours can spread an awareness and begin to motivate people to campaign for a change in the way that our society operates.
