Tarja is just a better vocalist- not just in sound quality, but in technical precision. She knows when to use vibrato (and how to), how to breathe, correct posture, how to form and pronounce vowels. Technicaly speaking, Annette sounds like a child karaoke singer in comparison. She is not right for this type of music. People who say that 'real' NW fans like them no matter what... um no. REAL NW fans like the unique music with the original members, not the autotuned pop/rock stuff now in stock.

I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say Tarja is much better. If you where a Nightwish fan before Anette entered, then you can understand why this is such a huge deal. People who are just becoming fans don't think Tarja's that great because they don't know how great she was back then.

I personally get the chills when I hear Tarja sing some of their early work, but I don't see anything special with Anette.

I think they replaced Tarja to appeal to a younger audience.
