At first I had grabbed close to my head, pulled, and then curled, holding that for up to 10 seconds, then let go but that didn't work (I was too busy listening to his accent to even THINK that I might need to know exactly how he was curling my hair!). Then I thought "no, maybe I'm relaxing it, making it impossible to curl" so I grabbed at close to the end and curled up that way for several seconds and it STILL didn't work!...
