  • this UA not going to fly bcs the wingspan is too short and its weight seems heavy ..but if its real and you mad it then you would know more abt it and if so then i aprst that but ....

i can make much better just let me hold down sum money cos i m just 17 and youngest in my family........i'll rise and high and high..into the sky huh

    I AM A SPECIALIST......AND BEEN SPENT MY HOLY YEARS......IN AERODYNAMICS STUFF ......

I AM DESIGNING A DRAG REPELER YOU KNO NEW GEN., NEW IDEAS AND NEW......WORLD.!

  • Looks good. But, are you sure that the design is fail safe? Have you calculated aerodynamic and stick forces? Why did you go for a 350 cc engine?

  • @KonaRooster you forgot snow. Snow falls from the sky. And leaves in autumn (although the trees might have to be quite tall in order to qualify), as well as parachutists. Bungee jumpers too, multiple times. Oh yeah, I forgot hail too.

This plane, however, we will never know. The fact is that the guy who made it had the guts to do so. It certainly is the people who are willing to take risks like these who end up advancing humanity - look at the wright brothers for example. They tried to do som

  • .... but will it blend

  • That's pretty expensive for an erector set! If it doesn't fly it's not an airplane! Does it lay eggs? If so do we call it a Chicken or a Dodo? Maybe next Christmass you can hang cards from it or at Thanksgiving hang yourself! p.s. Posting something stupid like this leaves you wide open for abuse! Come on people, let him have it! Three things fall out of the sky, rain, birdshit, and FOOLS!

  • @KonaRooster You stink guy ! This ultralight looks like it can fly, do you know anything about aerodynamics or even airplanes? thats not a question of design or appearance, the conception makes it all, but you're may be not open-minded enough to understand that ! So before judging on the work of others do the same thing, you're not having the balls to build or fly a plane, so just shut up, with your fucking chicken vids ! You're a moron, get a life...

  • 1 lakh = 20,000 krenshaws

  • Oh yeah everyone I built a time machine. I went back in time 1 week. ITS TRUE! I can tell you exactly what happened a week ago!

  • Ah, an Affordaplane! Yep, that's about as cheap to build as they come, and I've seen 'em fly.

  • what a load of crap, that shit will never fly. You are fake.

  • hoping we see it fly someday!!!

  • 1 lakh appox 2000 USD.

  • @harshpaliwal87 Excellent!

  • senorspode who probably never made it off the couch and has never built anything can be critical of others but what does he have to contribute?

  • Lakh? The hell is a lakh?

  • Sweet!

  • Well, you used a nice engine but you totally failed at exhaust. ;)

That's a 2-stroke, which means it needs an exhaust with an resonator.

  • @FFsCMs The engine doesn't NEED an expansion pipe, demonstrated by cheap ass 2 stroke yard tool engines all over the world.

  • @Daschickenify

Well, yes, you can use it w/o, but it will lose the most of its power - it will just work like it's always in idle.

  • will it fly..only ground pic,,does not proof anything...

  • Video of you actually flying it please?

  • You tube is fucking fucked. I'm watching videos of airplanes and suggested videos are as follows: Girl masturbating, some crowded street with alot of bikes and a us, how to draw bodies and anime pictures. The fuck? Alright, nothing against the people watching these things. But even if pilots or plane enthusiasts watch this, why show it as relevant to the video I am watching now? Fuck sake.

  • you use this for ploughing is it?

  • poundworld ,you can make a 100, out of toilet rolls ,for 100 pounds ,:) there are 2 designs one with tissue on the rolls ,one without ,i prefer the tissue on its makes a softer landing and at 1000ft they come in handy

  • So you never flew the plane?

  • youtube is for videos not slide showes -_-

  • Fuck me The Taliban got an Airforce!!!

  • : O thats only around £1100!

  • meanwhile in india...

  • Тележка из супермаркета) Взлетаем?!

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • did you have to rejet the carburetor for high altitudes?

  • Shouldn`t it now be possible to make Light Aircraft Kits from reinforced, modular, foam sections?

  • Well Done,Live your dream..Good Luck..

  • yes yes...but will it blend

  • Just imagine these guys in India having access to GLARE, titanium and carbon fiber composites and other similar materials...

They will leave settle the first colonies on Mars before americans, chinese or others get to figure out if they'll fund a new election campaign or a new war.

India has some truly genial people.

I know for sure that the best programmers are from there.

  • Did you design this yourself or build from a kit? I think you should at least get that motor running and taxi around to see how it works for a nice hop, skip flight.

    Nice going.

  • This is an example of the ultralight aircraft called the Affordaplane. Fairly easy to build, plans are basic, but the airfoil, if the plans are followed, has plenty of lift. Its basicly a 2 dimensional piper cub made of aluminum. Seen a few in the air. The control system is usually modified from the plans to something a little more robust though.

  • now lets see it fly. Oops no wonder why it's now cheaper than a motorcycle hahaha

  • I'll believe it flies when i see a flying video, and not before..:)

  • This looks pretty good. And With that motor appearence and how many can get bigger I would think this thing should have quite a bit of power. This thing is like a powerchute, but whats different is that it is made for pilots.

  • Good pics but does it even fly

  • Where are the pictures of this thing flying?

  • and he was shot down by an air to ground missile on his maiden flight........

  • judging from the frame at 30 seconds into this video it seems that the wings have no airfoil shape and therefore would be too unstable to fly safely, but congratulations on taking the initiative on building it, most people that comment here never even knew it was possible to build a safe flying aircraft at home, and most certainly have no knowledge and expertise in aerodynamics of airfoils or an understanding of forces experienced by specific parts of the airframe, please make it flyable someday

  • That looks like my dads 97' phantom!!! Which is sitting without the wings on in the garage

  • Way to go man, you should be proud.

  • wright brothers................

  • For folks that are critical of the design I suspect most of you have never owned or flown an ultralight. This really isnt significantly different than many other ultralight designs. There were about 30,000 ultralights of all types built and flown in the past 40 years and most didnt look any better than this one. That said if the aluminum is a commercial grade it may be both heavy and soft making this a less than optimal design. But as an exercise in learning.... wow.

  • I would never risk my life in a piece of shit ultralight like this. What a peice of garbage! it doesnt even look safe.

  • @RifullOfTheWest 35 years ago, your mom was on the couch, deciding what to do with ten seconds of her life: check the mail or make you. She must've had a big mailbox, unfortunately for us. At least the good part is that you live with your miserable self 24 hours per day; we only have to endure you as long as you comment. We got the good end of the deal. Have A Nice Day,

  • @SenorSpode Unfortunatly for you Sir your incorrect, it was infact your mom that was deciding if you were going to be an abortion or not. I was never born from a body. You can suck my ass crack tho, and ill even let you suck on my cock if you want to lol. The differance between us is worlds apart, literly and you can take that to the bank bitch. Im not even from this planet origanly so you can fuck off. I dedicate this reply just for you. Suck my Fucking cock you ass fucking bitch. hahahahaha!

  • @RifullOfTheWest LOL, good to see I can own your ass any day of the week without even trying. Shake it off, junior, shake it off.

BTW, sorry for the late reply: I was overseas, making money...something you have no concept about. Unlike you, I have a career and a life. Again, Have A Nice Day.

  • @SenorSpode well, you can 'literly' see that the 'differance' between you and him is worlds apart :P

  • @EuroNoobz Indeed. It'll be fun to see RifullOfTheWest at 50 years old, screaming for people to suck something he's never had. It must be hard for a fresh-out-of-the-teens person like him to cope with adult life...not that he's anywhere close, in spite of his age. The boy's gonna keep getting rolled until he either learns or dies. For his sake, I hope he learns soon.

  • @SenorSpode Flawless victory.

  • AWESOME!

  • Hi,If you could finish this project in the future, don't forget to up load video please.

  • You did a nice job, However as you mentioned, you have used commercial aluminum not aircraft grade. It will not hold the plane in the air specially for the spars and wingstruts. It is a nice display airplane but don´t even attempt to fly it with the material you have used. You didn´t build ailerons either (or air brakes) to bank the plane for a turn. If you want a fly it STICK TO PLANS.

    Good luck.

  • @RICARDOALAYZA No ailerons are needed, check the weed hopper design, they never used ailerons, and they sold thousands of thousands of that model, I have flown one myself and used to own one. A large rudder placed high on the airframe serves a dual purpose, as well, the wing on the outside of a yaw has a higher airspeed and more lift is created therefore that wing rises. and vice versa for the inside wing. His design is VERY similar to a very successful aileronless design.

  • guys i m really sorry about the flying video of this machine.

coz now i am into a job and flying helicopters.i am far away from my home.

it will take alot of time to get it into air.i has been damaged alot bcoz of weather.

  • @harshpaliwal87 sir can you tell what kind of material you use for wings I mean is it a special type of cloth or some thing other

  • @harshpaliwal87 please what kind of engine you use for it.Is it a bike engine.

  • @harshpaliwal87 do u know about how many us dollars is 1 lakh rupees

  • @njmvermont

    $2000

  • Need to see it fly man . With so many ppl requesting u should put up a video .

  • Ok, now can I see it fly?

  • Comment removed

  • I bet anyone anything that the plane weighs under 80 lbs.

  • Rupees, eh? That's cool that they let you use videogame money over there in Tandooristan.

  • @TheHevquip he could very well be your next boss, and you with your half a pound brain will be still raking up his shit, man.

  • @aburashdan Next boss? No, I will never have to work for anyone again and I make money on my own to support myself. And with my Microcephalic condition, I wouldn't be surprised if my brain does literally weigh half a pound, but fortunately I turned out about twice as smart as anyone else with twice as much brain, so I feel that it's not as much a mental disability as one would think, even though my ideas don't get as much attention as a "normal" persons...

  • not too bad

  • What is a safe way to bolt the aircraft??

And are you going to post a flight video?? Or have you never flown it??

  • I guess this airplane only can fly under certain condititions. ( Not to much wind, not rain etc.)

  • Not cheaper than a motorcycle, I got my old bmx, threw a stone at a rottweiler, and it chased me, I then rode like crazy, nothing could stop me, it was as if the bike was going itself.

  • Is there a video of it in flight?

  • Brilliant, absolutely a genius piece of work.

Do you have plans that you would be willing to share??

  • See you are a genius and I admire your work but for me, I would never trust something I myself built to FLY, maybe drive but when you're in the air and something goes wrong..... :D

  • @princepersia1 You think differently than I do. I trust myself above all others. If I build it myself I KNOW it's going to work.

Remember that modern all-aluminum aircraft were designed to be built by unskilled labor. That's why the basic research was done in the 1920s and 1930s. The Army needed a lot of planes really quickly, and knew they had to be built by hastily trained factory workers. The great planes of WW-II were mostly built by housewives whose husbands were at war.

  • Does it fly? :P

  • That's a bad thing to have the gap between the wings uncovered.

  • @EngineeringFun

while clicking the pictures i didnt covered the gap between the wings.otherwise there is no gap.

  • @harshpaliwal87 Makes sense. Thanks.

  • @harshpaliwal87

    Awesome!

I'd love to see a video of this aircraft flying.

  • @EngineeringFun it doesn't matter much, you just will lose what ever small amount of lift that area would have generated.

  • @pyroboy08 Thant's not true. Massive changes occur at tips. Now you get 4 tips instead of 2. I used that configuration in a model glider (a gap in the center) and the results were much worse than without the gap.

  • @EngineeringFun I wasn't aware that such things played a role in such a low speed aircraft.

  • @EngineeringFun

Its not that bad. Yes can add a little sink rate to landings. Will increase angle of attack for take off.

Also, in cross winds it can be helpful to some extent.

  • @michaelpilot1000 I agree if the gap is small (1-2 inches). What you mentioned would be a nice way to use a as controlled gap (covered-uncovered).

  • @EngineeringFun

Why? It's supported, and wouldn't be contributing too much to lift.

  • Haha... Mozart No. 25 if I am not wrong....

  • good job! so you used all new material or salvaged to keep costs down?

  • i can't see the engine

  • Ah ha and much more dangerous !!

  • Wow... it sure sits there well.

  • Great work! I wish I could build my own airplane!!

  • That's brilliant!!

  • lol everything in india runs by a royal enfield engine

  • @DocUnsane you idiot thats not a royal enfield engine

  • when are you going to test fly it.?

  • bravo

  • I'm a bit concerned about the lack of triangulation in the cockpit area, fore and aft.The tail, (wheel), landing gear and wings put a lot of bending forces on the joints and a lot of unnecessary shear on the joint rivets (bolt holes?) Also creating potential fatigue stress points of the tubing at the holes on the outside ends of the joint plates.Have you loaded the wings to test for strength? Just checking!

  • that is very impressive. can you email me the plans?

  • Hey Harsh. Good job. What are working on now?

  • But does it fly ?

  • Those Yamy engines are bullet proof. We raced one for several seasons, much of the time beyond redline, it never had a problem.

  • Clever man!!!! :-))

  • Wow, you built a plane for US $2000 ! Did that include the engine? What kind of engine did you use? I would also love to have a copy of the plans. I want to build this plane! My email is vise@email.com

  • Very nice A-plane!

  • Great thing! I like it very much. Check "Red Goat" Airchair for example.

    Hals und Beinbruch!

    Have fun,

    Gerd / Germany

  • welcome harshpaliwal87,thanks for such a great invention. my dear i am also making ultralight so i want to know that what kind of engine u have tried to use.and u also fly with this engine....

    please contact me...0092314-2050740

    thanks

  • hi harshpaliwal87, I am very found of building own single/double seat aircraft I need your help please please send the full information for building the same or advance

    abdul

  • dang hodgie... what kinda building are u plannin to fly that thing into?

  • Di it fly?

  • great choice of music.....

  • Could I have the plan please? My email is nikhillrao@acs.sch.ae Thanks.

  • can i hav the plan??plizZ..i want an aeroplane too>>my email bar_case46@yahoo.com

  • Loved ur idea of an ultralight!! just loved how u completed it...even i am starting to make my own gyrocopter.. i wish u stayed beside my home. we could have done it together!! tk cr and happy flying :(

  • my boy, very good, I am brazileiro , pilot ultraligth in brazil not insentiv aviation , prease menviar videos for me comgratuliacion thanks

  • Wow, thank you for my inspiration to build and fly an ultralight. After 1 ride last year it was all I could think about. Hopefully you will post some videos of you flying it. Just be a cautious pilot. Thanks again..

  • Thank you, the last video like so many others disabled commenting, like their own opinion or curiosity is the only one that matters or even exists. Like everyone else in the world is a total jerk, so they have to build this wall to prevent nasty comments. Thank you for being more open to others' opinions and question, I REALLY appreciate that!

  • MAN! you did it! Guess what i too had plans to make such sort of ultra lite. And amazingly i too was planning for RX350 bike engine. I had gone to the secondhand bike market and asked the price for the bike. But guess what, that bike is so rare nowadays that the shopkeeper told me one would cost me about one lakh! My dreams were shattered. But later on when i saw this video, i was just awestruck!!.. i am currently persuing ECE in Hyderabad india. And similarly i too am in love with aeronautics!

  • lol is that 80/20?

  • flying coffin hahaahaaaa

  • i would lik to know wat engine u used in this??

wat abt CC & power in kW

  • i wouldnt build it. cus i wouldnt trust my life to a plane I built!!!!

  • i would not fly in that!!

  • Well done harshpaliwal87 ! ignore the comments about ailerons. Most wouldnt know about the secondary effect of yaw, and dont know about the original Quicksilver MX 's that had a single surface wing, and NO ailerons. !!!

Commercial grade materials are fine if the design allows it - the flying flea ( pou de Cel) used mild stell for all the metal fittings in the design. ( it was designed before 4130 crome moly was invented )

  • nice email me the plans.

  • Ok guys and fellow ultralight pilots. The design may look crude and may fall apart mid flight, however look at the wright bros plane. She was made of wood and canvas and many people laughed at the bicycle builders from kittyhawk yet though it didn't fly far it did fly otherwise you people wouldn't be criticizing this man for building his. Once you design from scratch a perfect aircraft then you have room to talk

  • @cwren1022

u r correct mate!! appreciate ur comment.

  • Do you have washout on the wings? If not, you might spin and die.

  • talk about sketchy

  • we want to see that thing flying!!!!!

  • I never seen it fly

  • Looks pretty good but you fly first ok.

  • Are you from Bangalore?

  • Hello Harsh, Please send me the instructions. I am making a plan from an bajaj ct100 bike engine...

  • AWESOME !!! I don't know how tu build with metal, but i'm interested in wooden construction. Do you have or know for a plan of a ultra low cost wooden aircraft ?

  • Do you know if there is some free programme for aerodynamics, where could you visualized your aircraft? I know the x-plane could help you but it's not the best.

  • mast hain dost!!!

  • That's pretty bad ass... But you should get a proper exhaust for the engine. You could modify some cheap DG expansion chambers for RD250/350's... They only cost like 200 dollars. It will run way better than that untuned two into one exhaust you have set up. Unless you actually measured the length of the header pipes, to match the rpm range where you want the engine to run, for peak efficiency.

  • all of you are nuts if you are even considering building and flying one of these.

  • please what does mean 1 lakh in USD or EUR?

  • 1 Lakh RS = 2100 $

    1$ = 48 RS

  • Hi man, can you please post the plans somewhere?

  • Hello,if you look at it as a feat of aeromodelling, its a fine achievement. Can be displayed as a model. But when it come to "Flying"-i wonder whether you have considered the following aspects.1.The Aerofoil of the wings seems to be inadequate. 2.The steel used for construction is not Aircraft aluminium, its a commercial one.3.Only rivets and wooden support has been used for "holding" it all together-no welding has been used. 4.The Yahama RD350 is not gud enough.5.Has the Aircraft flown?

  • so do you have to know all the aerodynamics stuff??

  • Damn good work! Hope she flies as well as she looks and gives you a lot of enjoyment flying...

  • Great job! Very cool. Do you use multiple gears on engine tranny?

  • Ultralights have been successfully flown with no ailerons, they have larger dihedral and only have elevator and rudder. They are slower to respond, but still bank into the turns.

  • DARE TO FLY IT!

  • Google for Affordaplane, the plans are currently 7.95$ US

  • Have you flown this???

  • Comment removed

  • gr8 going harsh, its probably the first homebuilt in India. btw did u fly it?

  • is this a kit? does it comply with FAA ultralight regs? Looks great . How does she fly?? are you a ticket holder? Thanks Steve

  • hey!!! it's great!!!! how can I get the plans¿¿?? I want to built it!!!!!

  • send me a plan please mrmagoohitwo+hotmail+com please, good night

  • Hi, send me plan !! .. good night !!

  • The affordaplane is cool!!! I'm building a Sky Pup ultralight and have started a video builders log on Youtube. Flying shoud be cheap, fun and safe!!

  • look carefully in photos of farm u'll c ailerons kept in front especially the photo from back i mean tail view.

  • @harshpaliwal87 Hi - I wouild also very much like the plans for this plane - can you email to andyturnerofficial@hotmail.co.uk

Many thanks and well done - Andy

  • @harshpaliwal87 Hey, that is super cool! I would love to get plans from you too. I use to fly ultralights way back in the late 70's when they were very similiar to this...i'm in holland and would love to start flying again!

    Thanks - James

  • i made them i didnt attached d ailerons at the time of photos.how can u think of an aircraft without ailerons.offcorse i hv ailerons its kind of kit aircraft so evrytime assemble it........so dats y...........

  • I have a Maxair Hummer and it has no ailerons. Just a stick that controls a V tail rudder-elevator.

  • Great Design!!! Now where are the AILERONS??? I didn't see any on the images I just saw from your videos, and you NEED ailerons if you plan to have navigational control of that airplane if you add an engine to fly it for real. What are you going to do if all of the sudden you start shifting to left or right? With no ailerons you wont be able to level your self, you will inevitable end up turning upside down, and DOWN you do.

  • Ок! 1000$ aplne approved. =]

  • Hey !! that's really nice, Which batch & branch btw?

  • expecting flying videos,good structure
