Yes that is his Yamaha signature snare drum. I bought one after seeing these videos and it's the best snare I have ever played and owned. Well worth the money. I don't have mine tuned as high as his but it sounds great at all tunings.

Yea I saw Jimbo a few years ago at a workshop in Lansing and it was mind blowing. And to people who complain about him playing this type of music if you look up his discography he has recorded a ton of jass fusion for you to look up if you take the time.

yeah man he's got midi drum triggers, like electric drum kit pads that when he hits them they play a note, i think theres a vid explaining it somewhere, but its really technical stuff cos its all wired up so that if he hits it once it will play one note but the second time he hits it it will play a different note and its all timed and stuff :S

He's a superb groove drummer but more importantly he has amazing independant control of his different limbs. He is one of not many people that can have 4 completely different polyrhythms on each limb of his body at the same time and stay in rhythm. He really is an amazingly talented person. He's most well known though for his integration of the hybrid drumkit with both accoustic and electric elements. Overall, one of my favorite drummers and a joy to watch.
