That's what some people call "fake difficulty", because it's just making the game harder because fuck why not. Worst of all, though, it takes the game to a point where getting it through is based primarily on luck and not skill. Is that jump over the lava pit going to have a coin block? Maybe one by the football player? It just makes you paranoid for no reason.
