I won't question the relevance of this trailer. You did a nice job :

- very good music choice (ambiance, some (far) echoes to the animated movie ost (though it doesn't sound as "dark" as the soundtrack)

- good source choices : it seems clear to me you picked emblematic parts or themes to simulate the ambiance the movie would (should?) have (bike, futurism, destruction, the scene with the cape..)

You have some artistic sense, enough to make interested people dream a bit, with your video edit ;)

This is a brilliant conceptualization for the movie. If it was anything like this it would kick ass. Unfortunately, we can trust whoever's in charge to fuck it up. The song choice was particularly good. Very impersonal, very other-worldly. It made me feel small, fragile and insignificant; just like Akira does.

Kaneda believes their theories to be ludicrous but after finding his brother again, is shocked when he displays telekinetic powers. I hear there really is a live action Akira in the works. Leonardo Dicaprio's pet project, or something like that. I hear he's basing it on the six mangas too, which should be interesting since the anime only covered the first TWO. There were four more books AFTER the city was destroyed. Hell, it didn't even follow the first two books correctly. Akira was never dead, and Tetsuo survived the destruction of the city... which was actually caused when Akira's friend was shot in front of him.

That was almost a conviencing fake I've ever seen. The background music, nice. A good amount of those clips were from "The Last Mimzy", "The day the earth stood still", and also I believe the helicopter from.. the matrix if I'm not mistaken and the rest clips from a few Asian movies.

You really grasp the understanding of what akira is about, shame most film makers in the us today haven't a clue. If they do make this they need to get christopher nolan on it to direct, his style of film making or even his brother writing they have a certain vibe to their films that would translate beautifully.
