  • what is that black thing near the rudder?

  • Que imprudencia la del otro avion volando por encima. Que arrecho!

  • The 747-8 is 4 times better than the a380

  • This is Boeing answer to the A380, they have got to make something that first flew back in 69, just fix some things to make it more modern :) they just cannot come up with a better idea, or a new plane. Just like the Boeing new 737 that is under production, that is boeings answer to the A320 neo family :) Face it, boeing is going under... Airbus are taking in more orders than boeing, and the a350, well, lets just say that the numbers of the 787 wont be as impressive when the a350 number are done

  • @azereali Both Boeing's and Airbus's planes are great aircraft. The A350 was originally going to be derived from the A330, but both the next generation of Airbus and Boeing are going to be successful families.

  • @azereali Nothing wrong with improving a reliable design; they are avoiding complications with new models. Why does Boeing need to design a new plane? The A380s are starting to show cracks in the wings which will cost hundreds of millions to fix. This has shown on a couple 747s as well but like you said, these planes have been around for decades. The A380 isn't even 10 years old yet.

  • I have flown on the A380 twice....its a fantastic plane

  • That was a pretty short takeoff roll for a 47

  • @topgun966 it doesnt cary many people so thats why

  • This is a very beautiful plane.... it has everything a passionate flyer needs to fly....

  • lol @ the cessnas. the little cessna that could

  • didnt that small jet get very close to the 747 sure looked like it did wow, was that planned

  • @13jam100 they are chase planes that help monitor, and film the first flight.

  • what is that small round black thing on top of the rear wing?

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 Vertical Stabilizer*, it is probably something for testing to get some sort of readings

  • @MrRuski96 ok thanks :)

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 your welcome :)

  • awesome a very smooth flight in the air the top deck is fun

  • Shh... Again this ISN'T a debate here. Always Boeing vs Airbus. Flying is my passion, and I go on any Airbus/Boeing plane. Both A380 and 747 are engineering marvels, and i'll fly them anytime.

  • @AviationEnthusiastic hmmmmmmm.... too good what you said...

You made Justice to Aviation masters.....

  • 77W has outstanding performances, and is incredibly economical. that's why 747-8i is not selling that good.

  • @AviationEnthusiastic

Lets not mention the 777, as it has shellacked all Airbus products so far, including the now discontinued A340-600

  • @mtrujillo1973 the A340-600 wasn't meant to directly compete with the 777 , it was a 4 engine alternative to the 747.

  • @KidKlassic91

Then why did you bring up the A350? You brought up the A350 when no one had even mentioned it. You also brought up the 787.Bottom line: Until the A-380 has as much flight time (50 years or more), passenger seat miles, hours of service, revenue flight time etc:etc:etc...it will ALWAYS BE second fiddle...Again, talk to me in about 50 years, and see if the A-380 is even in existence to bring up....

  • @mtrujillo1973 give it a rest , BOEING RULES ! happy ?

  • Comment removed

  • @AviationEnthusiastic

I never mentioned aircraft crashes. The 747 has 50 years of history. The A380 has what?...5? I also never mentioned anything about aesthetics. What I did mention was history, and that cannot be disputed I don't recall the 747 fleet of any particular airline ever being grounded due to powerplant anamolies.

The PAX version will do fine, it's still early in the game

  • @mtrujillo1973 Airlines don't buy an aircraft because it's beautiful (748 is). Fact is, many airlines nowadays prefer buying B777-300ER or A380-800 for economical reasons.

  • i was just looking at the specs for this aircraft and compared it to the A380 and it seems inferior. I don't see it as a380 competitor , maybe just to replace their own 747-400s. The design is iconic , i can see why they did minimal design changes.

  • @KidKlassic91 Inferior?, really?

Let's get some things straight "right off the bat" with some of the fundamental flaws in your speculative statement.

1)"a380 competitor" Hmm, interesting way you put that. Last I checked, the 747 was manufactured in the 1960's and has maintained almost 5 decades of jumbo jet supremacy. So, it would seem to me that the A-380 was built to compete with the 747

2)"inferior" The 747 can carry its advertised PAX capacity, the A380?, nowhere close to 800

  • @mtrujillo1973 I also find it assuming how boeing fan boys like to start off with this ' I'm first ' thing haha . Like i said, the 747 is an iconic beast , no doubt. However, this plane is longer , has new engines and wing and still does not have the range capability of the A380. In addition , an airline's decision on seating arrangements is totally up to them. The A380 is capable of carrying 800 people but write me back and let me know how many airlines fly their A380 in 1 class economy.

  • @KidKlassic91

If you go to Boeing's website, and examine closely, I believe you will find that the 747-8 has more range. Write back in another 50 years when Airbus STILL fails to design an aircraft that matches revenue made by the 747. The reason why the A380 hasn't achieved the 800 PAX mark is because of a wing design flaw, which took them 3 years just to make airworthy, so....let's not talk about wings....

  • @mtrujillo1973 Air Austral will fly 800 pax A380s very soon.

    Best regards.

  • @AviationEnthusiastic

    We shall see.

  • @mtrujillo1973 The 747-8 has 8000nmi as the A380-800 has 8300nmi , you must not spend enough time on the boeing site your self. Making sales projections ? Lets stay within the rellm of the airframes but if you recall, the 787 barely made their sales projection while the A350 has been doing quite well. I'm sure after 40 odd years of developing the 747 , boeing better has learned something. The A380 is the world first Super Jumbo and they did a lot better on first year sales compared to the 747

  • @KidKlassic91

I'm not quite sure why you mentioned the A350, when an airworthy prototype has yet to be fully constructed. The 787 has recently flown, successfully I might add. The A350 is nothing but a myth until it takes flight, and when it does(2015 it's looking like..rumor has it) it will be a good three years behind. Playing catch up as always, seems to be Airbus' recurring theme.

  • @KidKlassic91

The 747 was also built, developed, and delivered ON SCHEDULE. The 747 was never grounded due to catastrophic in flight powerplant failures(AD on Trent 900 IP turbines sliding rearward). The 747 also does not need international airport jetway modifications to operate at any airport. The 747 has a more efficient safe powerplant(GENX vs the dangerous Trent900, no competition)

    Shall I go on?

The 747 is AND ALWAYS WILL BE...the Queen of the skies

  • @mtrujillo1973 i find it amusing how you mention the Qantas incident. There is a reason why Qantas sued Rolls Royce, you know why ? because it has nothing to do with Airbus. As we all know, the aircraft landed safely with no passing injuries reported. If it was an issue with Airbus it would of been a different story.

  • @KidKlassic91

I like how you try to twist things to appear in your favor. You mentioned that the 747-8 was inferior to the A-380. I provided evidence to the contrary on many fronts including the powerplant quality disparity. You chose to mention this rather than address the other facts that were mentioned to you, which I find particularly interesting.

When the A380 achieves a flight with more than 700 passengers, then we will debate, until then...run along little chap

  • @KidKlassic91

There is also a reason why Airbus stocks fell too. There is also a reason why A380 sales haven't met their projections...and it's called, lack of quality

  • why you guys always have to mention A380 in your comments? Now I like both Airbus and Boeing planes, and saying one is better than the other is simply childish. They both build excellent and reliable airplanes.

  • 747-8i is sexy and quiet unlike the fat noisy a380

  • @boygenius53 Who told you this?

  • Oh my gosh, it looks so darn big, I am starting to feel so inadequate.

  • @boygenius53 FYI the A380 idea was originally thought of by Boeing when they were designing the 747 in the 60s. so the 380 is technically a stolen concept put into reality.

  • By looking at this videos statistics, there is an obvious bias to Boeing due to the fact that majority of the viewers come from North America. The end.

  • horrendous colors. hate the raked wingtips. great plane, but odd

  • Boeing should've made the 747-8i slightly wider to improvement cabin space along with all the other enhancements. This particular variant really isn't anything spectacular in comparison to the 400 series.

  • omg at 1:7

  • i hope turkish airlines buys this instead of the ugly Airbus A380

  • Its rediculas to fight over weither A380 is prettier than 747. I like both planes! :D

  • what a beautiful plane! My favourite of all times

  • El Boeing 747- 8 el competidor mas fuerte del Air bus A 380.........

  • gear upppp...

  • @a963214781 gear doesn't go up like normal until later into the first flight

  • @a963214781 Never on first flight.

  • @yazfat camra

  • I still get a boner watching a 747.......

  • is ther any difference between the first 747-8 (blue & white one) and this one?

  • @fokkerxtreme The first one is just the freighter version (747-8f) and this is the passenger one (747-8i). Other than that, the technical specs are the same.

  • @rb21122b Thanks a lot fot the information.

  • @fokkerxtreme The first one (the blue one and white one) was was the freighter model. It has a much shorter upper deck. This one is the passenger version, with the stretched upper deck. Both aircraft are the same overall length.

  • Larga vida al rey!!

  • Jesus, that big beast is taxxing right past you and you can hardly hear it. The Cessna in the background you can hear loudly haha. They really did quiet these big beasts down.

  • what a beauty

  • 11 men are working at Airbus!

  • Comment removed

  • Its amazing and we almost take it for granted.

Sitting inside in of these things and just feeling it get off the ground is amazing.

The fact that a big body and 4 small engines can lift this beast up.

    Its just amazing to me.

  • @zoidberg96913

The engines are nowhere near small. The GENX N2 has a fan diameter of almost 10 feet versus the old tried and true CF-6, which was just over 8 feet depending on the variant, either powerplant is far from small....

  • @mtrujillo1973 Was referring to how they look compared to the plane body itself. And I understand that they are 8 and 10 ft in diameter. But whatever. You know what im trying to say.

  • Wowow! look how great it looks!! This plane is the best ever!

  • It's a beauty, thanks for sharing.

  • that

  • why are you asking a question then answering it yourself ha ha lol, tho i agree with your answer to your question !

  • @conneely I don't think Boeing would have the balls to build it !

  • Will Boeing build a new and bigger plane than the 747,s , like a 800 to 900 seater super jumbo and call it the 797 -100 series

  • For those are Airbus Fan and Hate Boeing.I ask u Question,Why do come here to watch the video anyway since u hate it = =

  • i bet that cessna pilot was jelous seeing tht big ass bird

  • 747+Concorde are the best planes ever/ ledgendery

  • 1:06 Look at the plane just zoom over LOL

  • that thing is LONG!

  • 747 IS the Queen of the Skies. the Dash-8 is just its newest incarnation, and it's still just as beautiful as ever.

  • I saw two 747-8 fly over my house on 10-22-2011. Two oragne colored jumbo jets about 3 minutes apart headed back to Paine field here in Washington state. I had to Google it to know what I was looking at.

  • best airplane of world = 747 !!!

  • if you dont like boeing 747 then don't come here to whine and bitch about it.

  • A380 sucks, nothing can be compared to the design of the Boeing 747. A380 is ugly.

  • @airlinereporter Do you think that Domestic U.S. airlines will start using this 747-8 on flights and routes within the domestic U.S?

  • @biorgymd I doubt it. I flew on a 747-100 as a kid from JFK to MIA in the early 70's. Those days are long gone. Now they use ERJ-145's because the flying public demands frequency.

  • ok for cargo :)

747 is sooo old technique, not comparable to Airbus.

  • @crossbike Boeing made the best plane ever built even better. Wake up. Airpuss has a long way to go to catch the legacy that Boeing has made for itself!!

  • very quiet for this size.

    great plane

  • Don't suck those Cessna aircraft's into your engines B747-8. Thanks for the video. Loved it!

  • If you don't like Boeing then why watch this video? Anyway, we all have our own preferences, in that case my favorite planes are from Boeing. Before you start accusing me of being a "fat-ass American" with improper grammar, I'm Australian.

  • what is that little thing hanging from the tail for?

  • Those Cessnas must have been thinking either 'when I grow up' or 'SHIIIIIIIIIT'

  • As every first flight, wheels remain down and escort aircraft reports visual .

  • @edoekei09 Don't say that. Both planes are amazing and the USA is great state.

  • @edoekei09 lol your tiny little country is a parasite

  • @edoekei09 are u serious, hating on a country because of a plane lol. oh my god

  • So, how much for a VC-25 now?

  • super! the boeing 747 will always remain the queen of the sky! love this aircraft the most of all =)

    this 747-8I is just amazing

  • A baby can be sleeping while this boeing is moving on the track and the baby will not awake!! so silence :D

  • hi

  • 10 people are airbus pilots :P

  • @xXRobloxPwnerXx not likely, a rig is a rig; equipment doesn't keep people good pay and benifits does. I know guys who fly 30 year old Dash 7's in Africa because of the way they are treated and would never go to the majors.

  • Oh my gosh!!! boeing's color are wonderful!!!! awesome airplane!!

  • which is the little plane flying beside the 747??

  • @marnus2612 That's a Lockheed T-33 shooting star. It was originally used as a trainer for military pilots in the '40's and '50's I believe, but then was taken out of service. Boeing bought several surplus and now use it as chase planes.

  • @venturi117 thank you!!!

  • The Boeing 747 Queen of the Sky is the most known aircraft. Each model from the classics to those 747-8 plus de -400 are master pieces.

It's still alive and will probably never die.

    Love It ! :D

    Boeing Fan 4 ever

  • @EazyELowzCompton True! I mean - I know the A380 is impressive and all that but .. for some reason .. the 747-8 - to me - is the ultimate plane. I dare the companies to build a plane sexier than this :D

  • @EazyELowzCompton Agreed!! I can't believe the 747-8I has been pretty much ignored except by Korean Air and Lufthansa, and that everyone else is throwing away their 747-400s in favor of A380s or A350s :(

This can't be the end! Others have got to order the 747-8I eventually! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN OF THE SKIES!!

  • B747 is the only queen of the sky....no matter how advanced tech the A380 is...the 1st time the 1st serie of this babe flew..Airbus didnt even exist.

  • I don't care what anyone says.

Boeing knows how to design an Aircraft that is Economical, Elegant, and Cost Effective. Sure its a large sized aircraft, but "inch for inch" will out-do the A380.

And anyone who thinks the 380 is pretty must masturbate to Whales or Rosanne Barr...

  • @MyleneJ or rosie o donnel

  • @zsshamalama lol Touche!

  • @MyleneJ

    Don't be so biased.

Saying something like the a380 is ugly is like saying your girlfriends ugly.

Everyone has a different taste and view of things. I personally think both the 747 and a380 are beautiful planes. they both have their ups and downs in looks but cmon, it is a plane.

How can you link planes with masturbation?

Cmon, if you love planes in general, you cant be biased with things.

If you are, you don't belong in this kind of group of flight enthusiasts.

  • @RainfulPhenix I'm not being "biased" at all, having seen both Up-close and In-Person, its the personal opinion I have developed of the aircraft. To me the A380 looks Bloated, over-sized, and to me has all the graceful appearance of a flying Bag of Potatoes. Yes it does serve a purpose, to move numbers of people long distances however, it is My Opinion that it looks ugly. Being a flight enthusiast doesn't mean you unconditionally love everything with Wings, opinions exist in every passion.

  • @MyleneJ

In terms of being biased, I meant opinion.

I personally love both and I think the a380 is beautiful, and so is any Airbus aircraft.

If you really think the a380 is ugly, look up "shorts 360" or "skyvan"

That is what you call an ugly airplane, although it is interesting.

  • @RainfulPhenix Sorry if my opinion somehow insults or offends you, but my opinion is mine to have, besides, I have a different point of view on these aircraft than most people as I ground handle airplanes daily. I do think it's amusing that you're trying to tell me what i should and shouldn't find ugly based on your own opinion while lecturing me at the same time about "bias" though.

  • @MyleneJ

It never insulted me. And I was talking about opinion in my first comment.

It does not make a difference if you're a ground handler or not, at all. My father worked as a ground handler and he doesn't hold an opinion at all, even if he loves planes in general. And you are saying "

Look back at my comments and you will realize what you said there is bullcrap. I never told you what you shouldnt and should like or find ugly, I just tried to point out that everyone has a different taste.

  • @RainfulPhenix See, Bias, by definition is prejudice, or a predisposition. Which would be a right word if for example: I hated the A380 just because it was made by airbus. I used the A380 as comparison, It's in the same class as the 747-8, being a "Super-Jumbo", and an Aircraft I consider Ugly. The rest of my statement about performance, The 747-8 is rated to earn more per Seat Mile to operate than the A830 at capacity. So, because i go off documentation, what kind of Aviation enthusiast am I?

  • @MyleneJ if you think the A380 is ugly check out the Dreamlifter by boeing

  • @pokabuPOTTER67 I have, and it suffers from the same Issues that the A380 does as far as being "bulbous" and bulky, But it does have far different lines when it comes to the tail section and the nose that keep it just a tad sleeker, but still, it doesn't have the same visual appeal as the 747-400 or 747-8i to me.

  • @MyleneJ you do know that boeing was planning to make their own version of the a380 but it was too expensive at the time, & airbus is more widely used in some parts of the world like Air asia which uses complete A320 & A330

  • @pokabuPOTTER67 I'm well aware that Boeing was sighting up the idea of a full Double-Deck Wide-body, and if it had been 'ugly' I'd have made the same statement about it that I did about the A380. However what people seem to keep gravitating toward is turning this into a "Boeing vs. Airbus" argument but, its an Aircraft vs. Aircraft deal, and not even an argument. Side by side, manufacturer aside, the 747 has more visual appeal than the A380. FYI the 737 is still the most used aircraft worldwide.

  • @RainfulPhenix couldn't agree more.

  • @RainfulPhenix airbus sucks....I'm sorry

  • @jodstasic

Airbus, or Boeing. At the end of a day its a plane.

When I was a kid, I loved planes so much because there was so much in them that I didnt know about. Now, I know that there is Airbus, and Boeing. The whole idea of the soul of flying is now gone because you get people saying "im not flying Airbus because of this and that. It has wingtips and I dont like wingtips"

"Airbus crash rates this and that. Boeing crash rates this and that"

    Its a plane.

  • @RainfulPhenix You convinced me.

  • @RainfulPhenix the a380 is ugly though, lol.

  • The pilot is so preoccupied with the new 747 that he forgot to put the landing gears up.

  • @n310ea On early test flights and especially first flights landing gear is usually down for safety and while they check the systems

  • @n310ea Usually it's gears down all the way during the first test flight. Just once around the block.

  • @Intrepidity either that or the rampies forgot the pins.

  • The best Airplane in the world! My Favorite.

  • @gbfyi That is the engine manufactures fault not Airbus. Airbus and Boeing do not make their own turbine's.....

Both aircraft company's have their ups and downs ;-)

  • A Fantastic Airplane !!

  • What the video didn't show you was the little PA28 Traumahawk holding short of the runway flipping over in the wake of such a big aircraft. Everyone on board was OK, but the traumahawk had..... well........... another trauma.

  • engine type is

  • Anyone else notice the bird following the tail?

  • @hupo That is a test instrument attached to the tail, not a bird ;-)

  • OMG I L-O-V-E the engines. They're so quite and when you finally hear them they DONT sound like a screeching cat like the airbus engines.

  • i love the boeing 747. well as you see 9 people don't like the 747 yeah i have nothing to say...

  • 747 for ever..its so beautiful aircraft. this version is much better from the 400 series. I hope soon many airliners get this beauty so we can see it fly in the skies..Go Boeing..Do your best.

  • Looks unsafe to me.

  • @criscoxxx why?

  • i will never fly american airline again because there buying airbus and betrayed there own people by not supporting them. also i want to say boeing should take serious notice that a super jumbo is a must IF THERE PLANNING TO BE ON CUTTING EDGE OR JUST LIVE ON PAST ACCOMPLISHIENTS? (WHY NOT EXTEND THE TOP DECK ON THE 747-8 i'm sure there would be many more mods would need to be done (BUT could exceed 555 passengers in a three-class configuration with top deck. BOEING MUST CHANGE

  • @hotrod4you2 All european airlines from entire Europe buy Boeing machines, too and no one affirm that they would betray the EADS/Airbus-Countries (Germany, France, Spain, United Kingdom)!

  • why dont they make the 2nd floor all the way cross like the a380

  • @NocredRS says who? you?...please great more stupid people posting stupid opinions not facts.

  • @CnRHYDRO your way off kid there pretty much neck and neck at this point, you should do some research before putting a bunch of crap.

  • wy is there something hanging out of the tail/??

  • @NocredRS Same old tired self indulgent crap coming from you! Didn't save our asses in WWII, we fought alongside each other, you fucking arrogant pinhead!

  • @NocredRS My joke? Yeah what about my joke? Our crappy planes sell way better than your americuntian garbage, sweet peas :3 and no, 747 is not most efficient. again you're pulling facts out of your fat americunt ass :D 747-8 is most ugly, most inefficient and contains 40 year old technologies. :D fuck you but have a nice day, cunt loool.

  • @NocredRS Even if it were more beautiful(but it isnt rofl), it doesnt really mean jack shit when securing orders. There is no such thing as "order ratios" in the airline industry, stop acting as if you were expert on the matter cause you arent LOL. Talking about orders, a320neo received 1029 orders since DECEMBER, versus your dreamliner(labourunionliner) which has received ,827 orders since 2004(!!!) versus. Yeah seriously. Superior European Engineering. Keep patting your own shoulder, bigboy :3

  • @NocredRS hahaha I just love your tears. More please. as for being brainwashed... I dont know what fox news fed you, but 747-8 has 113 orders, while A380 has 232. Twice more. This is how you stupid americunts pull "facts" out of your fat, useless asses. What do you know about beauty anyways? If you knew anything you wouldnt all be such fat, ugly, motherfuckers. Like I said, when you cant beat vastly SUPERIOR European engineering you try to claim that your shit is...MORE BEAUTIFUL! Pathetic cunt.

  • I came to this site to watch something beautiful, and thought I might learn something by reading the comments, and damn if some of you are the sickest, rudest, most profane jerks on the planet. Especially the jackass that likes to use obscene female references. But hey, if thats all ya got, then it speaks volumes. Thanks to alot of you, because I got what I came her for in the long run, intelligent discourse. After wading through a bunch of garbage profanity.

  • @NocredRS A380 is most beautiful, most efficient, and the largest passenger plane in the world! Cry me a river americunt. You cant do the engineering so you claim your plane is more beautiful hAHHAHAHAHAH. Hey did I mention CARS? European cars rule. Americans want European cars, but Europeans dont want yours cause they're ugly and inefficient. Just like the 747.

  • 747's are begining to turn into a380's

  • 1:05: Captain we have reached the mothership.

  • Why Don't Boeing just Extend The 747 Upper Deck ful give 2 deck (super jumbo)? you guy really stood flat footed while airbus surpass you, this is how great business slowly die, afraid to try new things got to conformable and lazy living on the pass. but now do you refused to meet this head on to regain face? they say your happy w/ 2nd place

  • @hotrod4you2 you guys already had the top cabin all you needed to do was extend it build a super jumbo years ago, its so hard to understand how you could wait and watch airbus build the a380 and not extend what you had already (it was the underestimation of the decade and you know it)

  • I like the small fly flying next to the plane...

  • esta bacano donde queda el aeropuerto
