  • A friend committed suicide years ago after taking Prozac. It's all about profits for these greedy CEOs. I have zero respect for them.

  • Read "Death by Prescription", Terrence H. Young a Oakville MPP who's daughter died of Prepulsid, March 2000. Biaxin is another killer, beware - I have myself experienced it's deadly effects in 2007! Every diagnosis is a misdiagnosis!!

  • The Real Pushers: A Critical Analysis of the Cdn. Drug Industry. by Dr. Joel Lexchin. Bitter Pills written by Stephen Fried. Dec 2006, Pres. & Cdn. born Hank McKinnell was shown the door with a pkg of $190 Million!

  • I found eating healthy food and a regular intense exercise program did wonders for my mood and I felt sharp and thought clearly. Try it for a month, before you turn to a prescription.(=

  • the best cure for depression is marijuana in short controlled doses and stimulation of the mind to overcome depression.

  • I told my GP I was depressed because no one is repairing my hernias, and he put me on Remeron, which made me gain 50 pounds, and then said I was a heart and stroke risk. It does also raise cholesterol. and would have caused heart attack if I continued taking them.. He is not a psychiatrist. Beware, they say they will give them to kids with ADHD, and mental patients.. OBESITY is on the rise...it also makes you dopey. It makes you crave fats, chocolate, chips.. Dangerous. Need Omega instead..!

  • far out, i have been on things since i was like 14, including zoloft, cipramil, a range of different migraine medications which in turn TRIGGER depression and have now been on 300mg of effexor for 2 years (which is "overdosing" for someone my size). LUCKILY i have just managed to halve my dose by tapering off them. i will take myself off them eventually, just cos it's gonna take a lot to get back to living with "my own" brain again.

within HOURS of missing my dose, it's like coming off heroin.

  • I was only 8 when I was diagnosed with "depression" and have been taking a variety of pharmaceutical for 10 years. Recently, I was forced to take Risperdal for having anxiety and went into coma 2 weeks after taking it. I am now suffering from permanent sexual dysfunction, early stage gynecomastia, anhedonia, severe memory loss, basal ganglionic brain damage, and a variety of other "side-effects" of the drug. My IQ has dropped from 133 to 72 and can longer experience emotion. Be warned.

  • @sonjacowart if I had sex and got chlamydia I shouldn't take antibiotics?

  • this is gold

  • @Vengeance4Me79 Many people will die from taking medication and then adding other meds on top of that...

At least people who die prior to 50 do not end up in nursing homes, worse off because of the crappy medications, with more things wrong that decrease their quality of life forcing them to live years beyond what they should have--in a misirable existance where many of them say they would have prefered death anyway.

  • I've never been prescribed meds for mental issues (although as a teen they asked my mom. She said no thankfully). I do, everyday have to take Valtrex. I sometimes wish I didn't have to take it, but I sometimes have a condition where if I don't take my meds, I will get a meningitis and end up in the hospital for days, so I'm dependent on it. The drs. say they have no idea what's going on, but it scares me that I have to take a drug that could be harming me for the rest of my life.

  • @Vengeance4Me79 amen.

  • wtf,

If they make that much money, and we don't need the drugs, round em all up, take the money, pay the national debt lol

  • @Vengeance4Me79 oh yeah, im sure that we would all die at age 47 if prozac and ritalin were taken off the market.

  • This is where they should fight the war on drugs..

  • @Ddurgedurg This is my war on drugs. My mouth (fingers) are going as fast as they can. Been a nurse for 20 years--tell people I poison people for a living because giving them all this crap is exactly that. I hate my job because of it. I get paid well and need the money to pay my bills so I keep nursing. That makes me a part of this sick system and I hate myself for it and it depresses the heck out of me. Am I on an antidepresant for this long term depression--NO WAY!! It sucks, I deal.

  • one simple question could settle many discussion

what is the normalcy status of mental disorders?

and what is the parameters of its determination?

if the answer is "the majority of society" then what if the percentage is 55%, are they all abnormal?! who is going to take the benefit of this decision?

    they are all connected

  • when we are told to stop being paranoid because we are sick it really means to put down your guard and be under control, it seems paranoia and our emotions are natural ways of defending ourselves like a reflex which has helped humans survive to this point

  • @SurfbyShootin and so is coughing but when it gets out of control you need medication . wow this documentary is full of bullshit i hope people dont believe this

  • @Chardong

I get that some some things work like hydrogen peroxide for stopping infection but, everytime I get coughs and it worsens cuz of allergies or being sick (rarely) I always get through it, and so have other humans centuries before us, I feel people underestimate the strength of humans. I never fully believe what I hear, and this may be Bullshit, but old white men will always want money and will use of science to exploit human weaknesses for their financial benefit.

  • @Chardong So how long have you had involvement in the medical industry and bought into all of these lies? What makes you a believer in the brainwashing? For the cough--try some honey and lemons and if severe try an onion/mustard or garlic poltice to the chest and a vaporizer. Drink grapefruit juice and eat citrus. Eat healthy, don't smoke and do exersize... Nurse for 20 years and have seen what this crap has done to hundreds of people.

  • Medicinal Marijuana can cure most of those problems "BrittneyRosex9"

  • Got me. I'm on meds for depression, and anxiety. It's an easy way to get money for them .

  • The pharmaceutical industry pushes thousands and thousands of new drugs every year that get people addicted and killed, yet they've banned marijuana, because it makes you happy and hungry.

Marijuana is not anywhere close to being addictive or destructive as drugs. BTW, marijuana is not technically a drug, since it is not created in a lab.

Think about that one while I light up a joint and relax!

  • It's 420 somewhere....lol

  • They got me. 10 years on the same drugs and I can't get off them even though I don't need them, I don't think I ever needed them. I bet i would have overcome my "mental illness" with a group of people who loved me unconditionaly and listened to me. Society is set up so we're alone, and the drugs are the only friends we can turn to.

  • @Winter077 same hear man been on olanzipine for over 10 years and now I'm addicted to the drug tried coming off it recently now I'm experiencing with drawl symptoms but have felt better being off it hopefully not becoming dependent on the drug

  • because they would not make as much money if they did make it legal.

  • @PlanetMayhem are u fucking stupid, Marijuana is a drug. Anything that alters the metabolism is a DRUG! this includes things such as alcohol as well.. IDIOT!

  • @baljm007 Marijuana is not a drug,it is a plant. It was not created in a laboratory. The food and drug initiative is totally wrong.I guess your information was based on the university of wikipedia which are written by biased opinionated individuals.

  • @TheFriendlyEngineer Okay fine... it CONTAINS drugs. The fact that it was not created in a lab, that its natural, means absolutely nothing. Cyanide is natural, care for a bite?

Don't be fooled just because you like to get high so much, its a psychologically addictive drug. Its common for drug addicts to develop a perverse love for their drugs and defend them vehemently. It also turns you into a loser if you smoke it too much. I've seen that exemplified time and time again for my own eyes.

  • @Stillwater900 Thats not the point. The point is the pharmaceutical companies want to criminalize all these natural plants/herbs so they can create an alternative in pill form because they cant patent natural plants/herbs. They want money thats why they create these fake news stories to help make the natural medicines illegal. Its out there the proof is everywhere

  • @PsYcHoNaUt1993 Good guess, but thats not the reason that drugs are illegal. The people that lobbied for prohibition in the 20's/30's w/ the National Prohibition Act/18th Ammendment, you can actually connect them wtih the families that were IMPORTING the drugs, because the price skyrockets once they're banned, over 100-fold. They also selectively bust their competition, using the Executive Branch that they've pay off. They can even be connected to some of the PRISONS, using them for slave labor!

  • @PlanetMayhem Yeah, of course you think that about pot, most drug addicts have a type of perverse love for their drug, you're just defending your lover Mary Jane. Pot IS addictive, don't be foolish, and it turns you into a loser if you smoke it long enough.

  • If anyone is defending the pharmaceutical industry, they MUST be working for them and making boat loads of $.

I can understand why you would be defensive. You're greedy, brainwashed, and a criminal too! You should be jailed for contributing to this epidemic.

I've never relied on drugs. They are after all, DRUGS.

They're is so much info available online for you to obtain regarding symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of any ailment.

Again, they're is no $ in healthy or dead people.

  • Everyone should know the truth about they teach in the medical field. Truth is that medical schools will NEVER properly teach students about preventive medicince including nutrition.

And don't give me that "the material is not in the curriculum..."

The only reason people should go to medical school is to help people survive and live a healthy life, and that involves giving them the proper treatment that people disserve.

  • Americans are too naive. They're twice as dependent on drugs than any other country, yet Americans are one of the least healthiest people.

Instead of these commercials telling consumers to 'ask our doctor...', they should tell consumers to get off their 'ASSES' and exercise.

As long as the industry is making BILLIONS, they're here to stay,

Remember, there's no profit in healthy people.

    Supply and demand!

I've visited psychologists a few times. What crooks!

  • Psychiatrists are fucking criminals!

  • But the again, it takes two to tango and the patients of these psychiatrists are to blame too. People who take these psychiatric drugs are some of the most pathetic losers you'll ever find. They are the "feel sorry for me type." So, they kinda deserve to get fucked by their pseudo psychiatric frankenstein doctors.

  • The only true victims here are children who have degenerate parents. These parents hide their failures by medicating the child, as if that is going to result in some type of magic cure. No fucking man made frankenstein medication will ever replace love.

  • i agree with most of that, about those who take the drugs to begin with, most do love playing the role of 'victim' in a blame society..but it is the shrinks job to make the patience think they really need the meds in the first place, sadly far too many people still trust their doctors and psychiatrists..and thats quite a dangerous thing to do.

  • the government is

  • they are worse than illegal drug dealers and they are also cotton heads from all the meds they take with their cocaine

  • White collared drug dealers!

  • Possible, yes. But for some medication helps them have a better life, than with no medication. In my opinion most medications are too readily available from your GP, but eh! you don't have to take them, you have a choice to accept medication or not.

Mental health situations are still on the highly stigmatized list, unacceptable by the majority and brushed off by many as a part of life. This may be but so is cancer and heart attack, do we see these patients being discriminated against? No
