to me, i also don't think the word chaser, when it comes to the tg community is an all around good thing. tg chasers are no good. they don't have any good motives at all when it comes to us transwomen. ugh!
...because all these guys want is ONLY a sexual fetish/fantasy for a one night stand. i've seen it with other transwomen and has happened to myself. you try to give these (whether they're bi, gay, and/or straight, but mostly straight guys) a-holes the benefit of the doubt because they come off acting, claiming, and pretending that they "want to get to know you" b.s. when ALL THEY WANT is ONLY/JUST sex. give me a damn break!!!! i am so sick and tired. i'm going to be an old maid. oh well.
i know i'm 3 years late.......lol. i try not to leave comments when it comes to guys and transgender women because i know how i am when it comes to these so-called guys. i am a pre-op transgender woman that gets disgusted that when i tell a guy that i'm a transsexual (which they can probably tell anyway, but oh well), they feel that just because part of the word sex is in transsexual, then that's all i'm good for, mostly a one night stand......
Having had 2 LTR with two full time M2F's as pre ops then post op, I can say that 98 percent of tranny-chaser men are pigs. They don't know how to related to a M2F and for the most part, they don't want to relate or educate themselves.
I generally agree with what you say, but I feel like at first, you confused gender with sexuality, but I got your point.
5 stars because I can relate as a MTF. I guess it depends on your perspective like you were talking about at 3:50. Personally, I think stealth is the ultimate goal. As a TG, it's hard to be proud of being TG, because it's always about "transition" to the next point.
I am openly bi (poly/pan) so I personaly don't care about people knowing. However the women I date tend to be 100% passable and live in stealth so the real problem for me is not outing my girlfriend, rather than the other way around.
Alot of them died because they were in the street prostituting themselves and when the man found out they had picked up a woman sporting a real penis,(a tranny) they killed them..tell the whole story. I am not saying this is right but, some men feel they have been betrayed and deal with it by beating or shooting the transperson.
but you have gay friends for support, i don't think a mans idea of a fun time is hangin around men in lycra you should just be honest about yourself if you need to be and if the guy has a problem then he's an ass hole
Sorry but I hate the thesis of this video. All along I've heard the term tranny chaser used as a perjorative, as referring to sleazy men who fetishize transgendered people. Now I hear there is such a thing as a good tranny chaser? WTF?? So anyone who is attracted to a transgendered person is a tranny chaser? WTF??
Personally, I've always found the term presumptuous but if this is how the term is to be used from now on, then it has no more weight than terms like...
...like chub chaser, size queen, tit man, leg man, gold digger, or any other characteristic that one person might find attractive in another.
In this context, all you are asking is that you are supported and respected for who you are irrespective of gender identity or sexual orientation because this person has asked to be in your life with you.
Of course, the final responsibility is yours for inviting into your life who you choose.
I don't mean anything untoward, but I think you're quite attractive. You speak intelligently about issues, and you're very expressive. Actually, I think I find the manner in which your voice quavers kinda attractive. Perhaps it reveals a certain vulnerability. You could write your arguments out and I'm sure they'd still be interesting, but seeing and hearing you is very nice too.
People should mind their own business and worry more about their lives then instead of worrying over someone elses...allot of the time its power trips and bible preaching Moran's ...look after yourself icey...
My initial comment was OTT, what I was implying was that only a certain type of male is attracted to a trans woman that still has male genitalia, these are seldom the committing type, once the transsexual becomes a woman and has SRS this type of man has very little interest in continuing an involvement, now that said, most Transsexual women after SRS simply get on with their lives as complete women and tend not to get too involved in flying a flag that no longer seems relevant.
at pride in toronto i saw someone marching with a sign that said "I LOVE MY TRANS BOYFRIEND" , and i met a woman with one that had a sign that said "I LOVE MY TRANS SON".... i thought that was awesome, and i think you're right in that not only should trans people not be stealth, but also their loved ones need to be just as visable...
Ive seen those signs at T.O. pride for years, seeing I love my trans daughter this year was hard as even after 3 years as living as a woman my parents still are having issues and think I'm making a stupid mistake and this is just a phase even thought i told them I was trans 17 years ago. I so happy for people that have family that can except this and i hope my mom can come around some day (too late for my dad he passed away last year only seeing the real me once before he passed)
Wolfy, I'm offended that you think occupations of a sexual nature are not something to be proud of. Sure plenty of people are in horrible situations and occupations that they shouldn't have to be in, and the sex industry has a largely deserving reputation of unethical business practices, but don't you dare tell me or anyone else that people should be ashamed because of a job in the sex industry! Go take your self-righteous ego-masturbation and shove it; or better yet, go make a morality porn!
@maitriparamita i wouldn't even give it 10 seconds. another thing that sickens me is that a lot of straight guys are always questioning their sexuality, and i'm like, who gives a.....who cares?!!! and in my experience(s), it's always the latino and black guys, even though i'm not into them like that anymore, especially black guys. don't get me wrong, white guys are like that as well, but most of them have the "who cares" type of attitude, but you still can't win.
Secondly, some of my opinions of the trans in the sex industry have adjusted a little. It must be understood, engaging in sexual business practices is nothing to be proud of, and certainly nothing to be promoted. However, as I understand it, many of us will enter into such businesses not so much out of choice, but necessity, as there are often few alternatives. Especially in the third world.
You seem to have me all wrong. Do I agree with CD's, even manly ones? No. I cannot fathom what would drive them to do what they do, and neither should I care to. However, it is their right to be themselves, and it is our right to do what we can to limit the degree of discrimination that they should receive from the cysgendered, anti-trans communities. I understand this.
Right. Addressing only my last comment, very simply:
Which is easier for the general public to accept? Manly, bearded men, wearing hooker heals and miniskirts, or passable women, potentially indistiguishable from gg's?
This what I am saying, crossdressers under the umbrella will not gain the the umbrella greater acceptance. But women like you and I can. That is the key. And eventually, given enough time and exposure, even the manly, bearded, miniskirted men might just be accepted.
"crossdressers under the umbrella will not gain the the umbrella greater acceptance. But women like you and I can." - This is exactly the kind of stuff I disagree with. I'd rather hang out with a bearded CD anyday over a hateful bigot like you. You are now banned from commenting on my blog because i'm tired of engaging with you on this or any other issue.
Ashley, I think wolfy has made a point in that; it is a good idea for people to be aware of more diverse gender variants in their own community than just 1 stereotype.
With that said, wolfy is wrong to think that cisgendered people will think better of more conventional gender variants than their unconventional counterparts.
People aren't going to earn us any *points* for coming out because they're pretty, but it's good to show that we are made up of as diverse of a community as any other.
Yes, I know. Thats why I asked the question. The fact that she often (this is a repeat behavior for her) singles out as "bad" trans people the crossdressers or trans women in porn as hurting us is what i'm being critical of.
Well, first you pointed out that being public will put you at risk. Then you you encouraged chasers to be public to support.
Its a personal choice, people will be as public or private as they want, but if they do decide to be public, it can benefit the progress of acceptance.
By being out, we actually serve the rest of the communty by providing the exposure we need to build their tolerance, if not trust among us. As for myself, noone even knows til I tell them. But I insist on telling them because hat I want them to have THIS image in their minds when tthey think of trans-women; instead of that of a manly, unshaven crossdresser, trying to sleep with every guy he can.
Turn their naive world, and perception of us upside down, and have them asking questions.
I think you capture this whole thing very well. Chasing wouldn't be as much of an issue if the decent ones (IE the ones who like transwomen for who they are, not in a fetishistic or ownership type of way) would show more concern than required to get laid. I'd love to see some chasers at pride offering support.
@waitingtolive that is sooooooooo true. and you can say NEVER when it comes to this. people always say, "never say never".......but when it comes to straight guys dealing with transgender women, that will NEVER happen.
The video makes me sad, it remembers me why the relationship with my ex-girlfriend failed. We were attacked by all the flanks only because she is a transwoman.
No offence taken, but here in the UK the TG community is very closed, they can't speak out for themselves and many are man haters, correction, they hate the men they were. I made the attempt to get to know Brit Trannies, but gave up, and know I'm looking to SE Asia for a LTR.
Those of us who speak out, get threatened with our lives. If we didn't generally stay underground, especially pre-op we'd be dead.
I had a blog once, but I had to delete it following the threats that were made.
Also if you say that the British Nationals dislike T-people, then their response is often that being Trans does not demonstrate 'nationalist spirit' and to not do this makes you a stalinite.
@MrShaneVicious smh!! so, because i'm not passable, that means i should be treated like shit? i have seen plenty of biological females that have deeper voices than i do and look manlier than me, but i still see them with someone.....why, because they're biological women........but when it comes to us transgender women, it's a big damn deal. smh @ superficial people. looks tend to fade away over time.
Girl, you are NOT lying! We need more support from the men who admire us. We must try harder to unify and also make a safe but powerful existence for the transgirls. We have lost too many special people that should be living right now. ^_^

Straight people will ONLY be entitled to tell LGBTs that sexuality is a 'private matter' & should remain invisible when they themselves decide to:
* Stop referring in public to their own partners as 'husbands' or 'wives'
* Stop holding hands with their partner in public
* Stop asking their children whether they have yet found a partner of the other sex
* Stop taking friends to movies that feature heterosexual romance.. etc
I doubt that a straight person could do this for even ten minutes.
