a very good musical performance, specially liked No. 4 -- excellent accentuation, very imaginative and interesting to listen. quite a few professional concert pianists could for sure take some inspiration there, technique could be a bit further perfected of course but that will come naturally. far more important is the musical side, real promising.
Excellent work! Thank you for not pretending Chopin didn't have any musical ability when he composed this. He truly disliked when people played his music too fast. It is MUSIC (the "study" part comes at the artist's expense not ours). Again, great work - I'll see you on stage again to be sure!
he plays wonderfully! if only he started 10-4 a little bit slower, then he would have a consistent tempo throughout. he tends to slow down a little where there are wider range of notes, and then goes berserk when the scales came back. nonetheless, an excellent musician.
No offence but your op.10 no.4 was a little sloppy. I expected more flare and aggressiveness in that piece. However, it's an extremely difficult piece and you've done very well to reach this stage. Keep it up! I love your op.10 no.10 ^^
Constructive criticism will help this kid get even better - it's completely necessary. If he plays and wants to continue to play like a professional then he should be treated like a professional.
@Tuekie4560 I agree completely! I am sick of these ridiculous sycophants who can't stand when obviously knowledgeable professionals give some constructive criticism and just say the same stupid thing "Let's see you do it better" Come on! How old are we really??? This young man is obviously quite talented, but if he wants to be taken seriously, then he has to be able to accept some serious criticism along with some positive comments as well.
Actually, this young pianist plays #4 quite clean. The hall is clearly very wet and he may use too much pedal at parts, combined with an extremely bright piano, but he pulled it off very well. I felt #4 was the better of the two.
Your playing is just perfect!I watched your performance accidently~:) you have the good technique and great talent~You are rally a gift of music~My name is Jessica~You can search below this name!or...Chin shan Chang!~~~nice to meet you~keep the good work!~Greeting for you~~~Jessica~~~
I really like the smoothness in 10-10. 10-4 is difficult, and sounds difficult accordingly. However, 10-10 sounds so harmless, yet it requires lots of work to make it sounds nice and smooth.
Well Done!! Great job, keep up the great work. I hope to hear the entire op. 10 and 25 set from you in the future. Great control and dexterity for such a young pianist. You have a great career ahead of you.
Did you seriously just say that Chopin's Etude Op. 10-12 was EASY? I hope you're not talking about that. Because I'm almost 14 and I've almost mastered that song. It is REALLY Hard.
yeah right. you'd have to be yundi li to do that. in fact, yundi li could probably perfect his pieces in as little as 1 month. Most likely. Well, i believe that what you're saying is bullshit, but try learning scherzo no. 2 by Chopin and perfect it in 3 months. didn't think so.
I'm a not so good professional piano player and I lernt the second scherzo in about a week. You kids will never believe what an adult average piano player can do as normal matter of job. Art is another thing..
yeah but we don't spend 12 hours on the piano all day like you do. i practice probably 2 hours a day at most, so its not like you can say that i don't know what i'm talking about.
yeah right. you'd have to be yundi li to do that. in fact, yundi li could probably perfect his pieces in as little as 1 month. Most likely. Well, i believe that what you're saying is bullshit, but try learning scherzo no. 2 by Chopin and perfect it in 3 months. didn't think so.
LOL @ U. Actually, it's always good to attempt the impossible because you'll never know. But at this time, all I can do is laugh. Learn Liszt's Totentanz in a month.
Hey what up? I heard that you go to MIC. I saw you there before about half a year ago. You're even much better than me. What piece are you trying to learn right now? Now I'm learining how to play Moonlight Sonata (3rd Mvt.) Sorry to say that I haven't got any of my videos uploaded because I just joined this YouTube. Keep playing! You'll have a great future. See ya, man!
RandomCoke: I agree. So many critics but very few show what they can do and those who do are usually not to the standard of those they criticise. I sometimes get the feeling people just listen to this stuff just for the sake of criticising. Its as though they are deliberately looking for faults instead of just sitting back and enjoying the music. Its annoying.
Of course you should point out the strong points of the performance as well as the weak, and critique in a way that is helpful but in the music world, we often have to critique those who are better then us. One who criticizes does not have to be better then the one being criticized.
Another so called "CHILD PRODIGY". When I was 14 years old I played the Kabelvsky Piano Concerto #3 without an orchestra and was awarded Honorable Mention. Try playing a piano concerto without the orchestra or even another piano to play the orchestral part. This child is a robot player-no emotion!
A simple question with a simple answer-none were available! If I had the orchestra or accompaniment I would have been given 1st place. I was only 14 and was asked to play it so I did! I would not even think of refusing to play-the thought never entered my mind!!
oh dear . recorded sound doesnt ruin how well he follows his idea of the music in a flat .c# was darn good too. who is deszes little people s from da isles of Manchu ..so young play dese tings mon. wuz going on ...poopoo
wow such talent at such a young age . wonder what he will be when he grows up .. is this really his passion.. the teens are often the hardest years ..
Je ne suis pas d'accord. Il est evident que ce jeune possede le bon sens de la ligne musicale en depit de l'enregistrement affreux. Je voudrais bien ecouter encore la meme musique dans les conditions plus favorables.
my piano teacher told me to watch u b/c she said to look at your movements b/c she says i dont move when i play piano.when did u start??? o and it sounds okay b/c i cant really get the melody...
i bet all you dudes know nothing about chopin. and by the way.....it's spelt as "chop-an". i've been playing chopin since i was 11 =P good luck guys..
Op. 10, nr. 10 is one of my favorites, and he did an extraordinary job of interpretation, but please, please, please, tell him to watch his fingers! One of his only problems that I can see if that his fingers generally slip off of the keyboard! He has absolutely mindblowing talent, and I respect him more than almost any pianist I have heard perform on youtube.
No, he shouldn't... What he should thank is his parents that support him so he can practise several hours a day. Also to him self for accomplish such a task as playing a Chopin Etude. Congratulations Andrew, keep it up
well, you know what i meant. of course without his dedication and his partnt's support (assuming he has parents) he wouldn't have accoplished anything. but the talent is purly from God. iteach piano and some students no matter how many years they learn, they just can't play, while others excell.
