this jet would have quickly passed the bike even at take off the pilot was orders not to use the afterburners the exhaust would have been so hot it would have severly burned the guy in the bike and damage the car so the jet is just using normal engines if it were to use afterburners no chance in hell there gonna beat it the bike slowed down cause of the jet blast too strong at take off the jett is going atleast 300+ kts ( mach 0.5)

it's unfair for the bike.. they give him a stock yamaha (correct me if i'm wrong, but the bike looks like an r6 for me) which is not even the fastest bike on its class when it comes to straight. it doesn't even have a turbo when it is a stock unlike the sports car..
This was made in Belgrade, Serbia in the late 90's on the airport track. It's one of our Military's MIG's vs the Porche and Yamaha (I think). The driver of the Bike later claimed that something went wrong with his bike half way through the race, but they couldn't do it again, 'cause there was not enough fuel for the MIG to have another go! BTW the race was suposed to end at that junction you see at 0:58 so the bike lost! That's why the driver was pissed :)

Very strange finish. The Porche has a top speed of around 196mph.The Bike should have a top speed of atleast 170mph. The bike takes a considerable lead of atleast 40meters. If this was a 400 meter drag, then the bike actually wins hands down since it would cover it in 11secs. For the car to catch up and beat it by that distance it would have to be doing 215mph which it cannot. Stranger still, the bike rider actually does not even bend down to minimize air resistance until the last few seconds.

the car was a Porsche 996 turbo it has a 420 hp biturbo 3.6 liter v6 0-60 mph is done in 3.8 seconds im not sure about the motorcycle and plane though

Formula 1 have no traction control and it's very difficult to start them quickly but without making the tyres slip.

Give it a rest, the bike was way ahead of the car, there is no reason that a 175bhp + would loose that much speed at the top end, by the time the car got half through its speed range the bike would be gone

this is a weird video, Why does the bike suddenly slow down? Looks like an R1, top speed 189mph and the porch was doin at least 30mph more, but 220mph? i dont think so? The Plane owns both of em though.

I remember seeing this race on TV, as I remember bike driver said he damaged his engine or something like that. I don't remember the technical term, but he said something around the line blown spark plugs, or something like that. Bike enthusiasts could take a better guess of what went wrong.

it's unfair for the bike.. they give him a stock yamaha (correct me if i'm wrong, but the bike looks like an r6 for me) which is not even the fastest bike on its class when it comes to straight. it doesn't even have a turbo when it is a stock unlike the sports car..

This was made in Belgrade, Serbia in the late 90's on the airport track. It's one of our Military's MIG's vs the Porche and Yamaha (I think). The driver of the Bike later claimed that something went wrong with his bike half way through the race, but they couldn't do it again, 'cause there was not enough fuel for the MIG to have another go! BTW the race was suposed to end at that junction you see at 0:58 so the bike lost! That's why the driver was pissed :)

Very strange finish. The Porche has a top speed of around 196mph.The Bike should have a top speed of atleast 170mph. The bike takes a considerable lead of atleast 40meters. If this was a 400 meter drag, then the bike actually wins hands down since it would cover it in 11secs. For the car to catch up and beat it by that distance it would have to be doing 215mph which it cannot. Stranger still, the bike rider actually does not even bend down to minimize air resistance until the last few seconds.

@saabmugen That bike had mechanical problems thats why it gave off, though it was a 1km drag and it probably would of lose to the jet anyways, but it would not of lost to that porsche.

the car was a Porsche 996 turbo it has a 420 hp biturbo 3.6 liter v6 0-60 mph is done in 3.8 seconds im not sure about the motorcycle and plane though
