You did the right thing, even though you're 16 it's still a good move to call a recruiter. I'd suggest you call him back and ask if you can come in and start getting exact info about jobs so that when you turn 17 you're ahead of the game. Bonuses change but you don't need that right now. I'm a recruiter and I get calls like this all the time. Kids don't know any better. I'd have asked to speak to your parents to get permission to give you info. You didn't ask dumb questions.

Wow! That was crazy. I didn't expect to hear my recruiter on a video on YouTube. His name is actually SSgt. Lies (pronounced leez). He is a good recruiter and will be straight up with you with any questions you may have. It's true that he can't say much at this point as you're only 16 and in Sedro-Woolley. Your recruiter is in Burlington by Target. However, one of the recruiters who works with SSgt Lies at the Bellingham office is 19D and can answer a lot of your questions about that MOS.
I'm actually shipping out at the beginning of May into that MOS. From everything I've looked at it appears to be a good choice for anyone who wants good training, wants to see some action, and get promoted quickly.
2) Ask questions relevent to the present (not stuff your going to be doing once your in like getting deployed? Is that what you asked?)
3) Don't talk over them (or at least try not to)

The asvab is pretty fucking simple. i got an 88 my first time without studying, but i went to school in McKinney texas (high rated schools) and I'm a genius at taking multiple choice tests (I'm good at process of elimination and guessing). Im signed up for active duty for three years and ship out on march 9th (2010). If you've been studying your standard high school curriculum you should have no problem getting a 50 on it. feel free to ask questions about it
I was told that by ALLOT of people. But I am a home schooler, and I am not used to taking tests and shit. BUT I do hear home schoolers score higher on the ASVAB than the public schoolers do. I have been studying and all that. What MOS did you do?
My best advise is to just go take it then man, you can always take it again, they also give you a practice test at the recruiting station (or they should, i got a 92 on that one, 4 points off from my real score). I Know you'll get over a 50 especially if you studied. This is videos4usarmy. What is wrong with National Guard, they get the same training as Active Duty Soldiers, the only difference is they're part time Soldiers, and work for their state. I can switch. I talked to a whole bunch of Soldiers that did.
If ur doing National Guard and trying to deploy after basic and AIT, all depends on if ur unit is going to deploy or u can tell ur chain of command and commander u want to volunteer to deploy
