The director Adrian Maben is a criminal,he could something astonishing with this music but he badly failed wasting this chance.His view is outdated (even for that years),poor and flat,while the music is the opposite.Everytime I watch this movie I wonder why Pink Floyd gave their approval once seen the result.Or better, why they considered to be directed by an unknown scottish-french director at his first work.He will do next just 2 films, 2 documentaries, and 1TV serie in his career. I was at pompeii, too. Years after this "concert". I can't begin to describe how accidental and spiritual that trip was. This means nothing to anyone reading this (except one) but that tour guide was useless, and the stray dog deserved a tip.

I sure wish that we could see an upgraded version of the director's cut.... I think a lot of the older, die-hard Echoes fans were upset by the newer clips and dated graphics.

I bet that nowadays, someone with vision and some artistic or graphic connections could make a masterpiece of Live from Pompeii that even the original director and the Floyd crew would appreciate.

the remastered Pompeii is so much better. actually, only a couple of songs were recorded there. they couldn't get electricity to the island in time for most of the shot. most of it was recorded in France i believe
