  • I feel bad for the Chinese born the last day before Year of the Dragon.

  • Anyone know both the intro song and the song played during the video? It's been driving me insane. Can't find it using shazam and I don't speak Chinese. Please help:)

  • "Chinese Dragon" has nothing to do with the "Western Dragon". The Chinese Dragon is a totem of ancient Chinese. It is an imaginary combined animal, not a real animal. In Chinese, it is pronounced like 'lung' (龍 or 龙). Historically, the confusion is caused by an inappropriate translation. Personally, I prefer the Chinese Dragon (龍) to be translated as "Loong".

  • @xhpan, totally agree with u. Chinese 龍or 龙 should be translated as "Loong". Dragon is a mis-translation by Westerns who didn’t hv any knowledge about the Chinese culture.

Western dragon & Chinese Long r two completely different animals:

    A)dragon is a reptile; Long is a mammal which hs body hairs;

    B) dragon hs wings, Long doesn’t;

C)dragon’s horns r like those of bull, each 1 is a single piece; while Long’s horns r dear’s shape, each 1 branches out at the top, at least 2 pieces.

  • Dragons are awesome and are not evil....as with all beings it depends on the individual's soul intent and purpose....not upon their race/species etc....that would be racist/prejudist to think that....and very narrowminded....Even demons are not evil as a race ... simply many of them have been known to do evil...so have humans....its how you use what you have...and for what purpose! PEACE

  • @davidtibble7 even the western dragons are not evil. it's a symbol of power, the wisdom and the nature's sovereignty.

well... until the christian spread it 'it's an evil'

  • Eastern Dragons over Western Dragons all the way!!

  • Does anyone know the name of the intro song and is willing to tell me it? Thanks in advance!

  • youtube twitter

  • proprio nammerda di video. complimenti.

  • The two traditions may have evolved separately, but have influenced each to a certain extent, particularly with the cross-cultural contact of recent centuries. The English word "dragon" derives from Greek δράκων (drákōn), "dragon, serpent of huge size, water-snake", which probably comes from the verb δρακεῖν (drakeîn) "to see clearly".[1] In the New Testament, the Devil takes the form of a red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, in his battle against Archangel Michael.

  • @davidcr2323 Perhaps, but , I think the Bible might have good and evil reversed. Propaganda campaign and all. The Dragion/Serpent is good. God and and hist angels are evil

  • @davidcr2323

    What influence?

If Adam and Eve were Chinese and Eden were in China, then the huge talking serpent would became dinner, not the apple.

  • @barrhavener note that it's a fruit, not exactly an apple.. idk why everyone thinks that it's an apple -_-

  • @NextGenGam0rz

OK. if it is not an apple, then it must be a banana.

Not all dragons are the servants of the devil.

Haven't you play the Spyro games when you were a child?

  • thank you, nice song (even though i don't understand the words)

  • Happy 2012 year of dragons friends.

  • thank you very much for the information. learnt a lot from it. Princesa82, if I'm not wrong, it's this Monday 23rd (not Saturday) and you can say Gong Xi Fa Cai or Xin Nian Kuai Le.

    Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone!

  • what is the name of the song? very beautiful sounds patriotic

this Saturday Chinese people are celebrating the year of the dragon, how i should say happy new year in Chinese or should i say happy year of the dragon?

  • @vwspring I myself am a Christian and a follower of Christ, and might I say vwspring, I am taken aback by your narrowminded view of the chinese. Friend, this judgmental and hateful(not to mention uncultured)attitude you hold is precisely what gives those who worship Christ in spirit and in truth a bad name! Blessings to all, and happy year of the dragon. Peace and prosperity as well

  • @veggiemite777 I am a Christian and I agree with you!

  • Comment removed

  • @vwspring

    Horse manure.

The Chinese Dragon has nothing to do with Satan and is not the serpent in Genesis.

Its month does not spit out fire and it flies horizontally rather then vertically. The Dragon is also shared with most Asian people such as the Japanese, Koreans, Tibetans, Indians, etc.

I suggest you open your narrow Christian mind and know more about Eastern culture.

  • @barrhavener You're the best person in the world right now.

  • @barrhavener I don't know what vwspring wrote, but from your response, it must be very ignorant..

  • @mateinc

What vwspring wrote is that the Dragon is an evil animal and is related to Satan (probably because of the serpeant who tempted Adam and Eve to disobey God in Genesis).

But the oriental Dragon is none of that b.s.because Eastern culture is based on Buddhism, not Christianity. An example is Mushu in Walt Disney's Mulan, which serves as a Guardian Angel for the Mulan family, definitely not a demon.

  • @barrhavener - Christianity (and Islam and Judaism) have some very nasty elements to them. The Eastern religions tend to be far more mature and intelligent when attempting to teach a philosophy of how best to live.

  • @Enerjee

Yes, the Judeo-Christian-Islamic religions began with ancient nomadic people who must face the harsh elements of nature in order to survive and therefore their belief is sometimes nasty. Buddhism and Taoism began in stable agricultural China and India and hence more mature and peaceful.

The world does not trust China today because of their Communism which also came from Judeo-Christian ideology in Europe.

  • @Enerjee actually, if you look at the heart of Christianity (and Islam and Judaism) they have the same basic elements as Eastern religions. The nastier elements are just trappings around the basic ideals of, don't steal, don't lie, don't murder, don't sleep around, treat people with kindness, etc. I do concur that modern day practitioners of these religions (in particular Christianity and Islam) could benefit from some applied study of Eastern religions.

  • @1quirkyblonde indeed

  • @1quirkyblonde Not really islam says it is ok to steal form non muslims, and to kill non muslims.

  • @arkivx1 Lies, you know not what you are talking about, stop the hating, 'islam' means peace. Religions are about love and understanding, they just do it in different ways to suit the people of a perticular country or culture. Religions are like roads, all leading to the same destination, all taking different paths.

  • @TheFrenchGenius Actually the word 'Islam' means submission or surrender, nothing in the death cult of islam is about love or understanding, unless you count the 55 year old pedophile mohamhead marrying a 6 year old girl, but hey at least he waited till she was 9 to consummate the marriage right? Try reading about mohamhead the warlord pedophile some time "genius".

  • @TheFrenchGenius The original meaning of islam was to change ones mind to accept what was previously unacceptable. Islam's original meaning, like so many other words, has become corrupted through misunderstanding and misuse over time. This corruption is the intentional mental enslavement tool of all organized religions. Extra time to seek out historical origins helps tremendously with ones personal development. 1Luv

  • @1quirkyblonde What's wrong with sexual promiscuity? Unless, of course, you mean cheating on a spouse or BF/GF.

  • @Mirani2 sexual promiscuity is unhealthy for you physically - causing all sorts of problems from bladder infections to major STDs like AIDS or Syphillis - and it's bad for your heart. Despite what popular culture says, sex MEANS something. It has an effect on your heart. It's an intimate act best shared with someone you truly care about, don't throw yourself around like your heart doesn't matter. Because it does, and so do you.

  • @Enerjee Incase you didnt know, those religions have thier origins in the East.

  • @AChozenSunn - I wasn't aware they had their origins in the East. But how do you define "East"? As far as I'm aware they originated in what is known as the Middle East. I know that a lot of Christianity is borrowed from older religions (i.e. the virgin birth, the resurrection), which were based in the area we now call the Far East as well as ancient Egypt and the Greek Goddess, Isis.

  • @Enerjee true indeed. Far East, Middle East, its still East. The origin of civilzation is traced back to the middle east. Judaism which is where Christianity evolved from, also has its Origins in the east. Some say True Christianity comes from Khemet (Ancient Egypt). Isis was also borrowed from Khemet, along with Imhotep and others, brought back to ancient greece and worshiped as gods. A common misconception about "Egyptian Mythology" is that Egyptians or Khemetians worshiped these deities.

  • @AChozenSunn - Well you may say "it's still East", but the accepted geographical location of what we in Europe call "Eastern Religions" is the Far East countries of India, China, Japan etc. The Middle East is not the Far East no more than Western Europe is in America.

  • @Enerjee European point of view is limited. Dont know why but it seems Europeans and those of European decent seem to have to redefine everything foreign to them, and most of the time end up confusing themselves and the world that follows. The Ancients of the Middle East and what we know as Africa today were alot more intelligent than what western society wants us to believe. The difference between Eastern and Western Society is more cultural than geographical.

  • @Enerjee I dont have enough text space to explain it all, but you can do your own research, even right here on youtube

  • @AChozenSunn - I'm reading a book on comparative religions at the moment. Most religious doctrines came about before we were technologically knowledgeable enough to understand astronomy and physics. Politics, psychology and philosophy are the intelligent versions of religion (and some would say, the enemies of it).

  • @Enerjee And yes, Eastern society and culture is much older than European society and culture. Whoever wins the wars writes the history... I urge you to research the history of Islam, Moorish rule in Spain, Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity, Khemet (Kemet) and the Kushite Empire. You may be enlightened after doing so. Peace & Blessings

  • @Enerjee yupp and evidence is depicted in the sanskrit (hinduism) and buddhism

  • @barrhavener What about me bro ,im born at 23 march 1988 , earth dragon i think , any ideal , im not Chinese but sometimes the predictions is right as perfect . btw Gong xi fa cai .

  • @santosamaru

Actually your luck has nothing to do with what you were born under (dragon, dog, pig, horse, etc.) The Weather Channel does better in forecasting what you will get in the future.

In ancient China, most peasants were not educated, and so the imperial court designated one animal for each year for easy counting. It evolved into the Chinese calendar with a 60 years cycle.

Father Matteo Ricco calibrated the Chinese calendar more accuately in the Ming Dynasty.
