  • he needs to make a whole saga about the gungans and jar jar binks lolz

  • was that his wife?

  • Y U NO THINK JAR JAR WAS BAD IDEA?

  • Then Chris Brown smacked George Lucas

  • Your intention to create star wars was to get kids to use their imaginations? Im sure that's something that happened, that you're proud of but BS you did it FOR that reason.... seriously BS.

  • NEW STAR WARS ARE BETTER THAN OLD STAR WARS !!!

  • chris brown made this video...

  • This interview is a clear cut case to prove that he has lost his mind!

Also, if you thing RotS is the best movie ever, you were probably born in the late 90s early 2000s and don't know what good is. Empire was probably the best of the Star Wars saga. No whining, no crying, just good action, great story and the good guys actually lost for once.

  • @gilliousthunder no whining? what a lie. Go look at Luke, when vader tells him he is his father. He whines like a sissy... I do know what good is, only reason i like Revenge of the Sith is because it has General Grievous.

  • ANYONE can say "you have to be able to imagine something before you can create something new".

Seriously, if this video taught you something, I feel sorry for you.

  • I didnt know George Lucas was dippin in chocolate

  • @ConcreteSurfer420 Lmfao dude you just made me fucking bust up laughing

  • lol chris brown lol

  • You movies inspired me as a kid. And I've been fucking Wookies ever since.

  • Lucas is a shitty hack.

  • It will be a dark day when George Lucas passes on.

  • George I can tell you as a former kid... It worked.

  • Chicago Science and Industry Museum is freaking fantastic.

  • Imagine things and they will come true. I hope that's a fact.

  • Lucas has no poetry in him...and he's very subtle...

  • So true....that movie has inspired so many.

  • thanks Lucas for everything - you're still an inspiration

  • What a duschbag, dooshbag, Douschous Baggis. senior, DB. dush bag.

  • Dear George, thank you so much for all your movies with their backround information about our coming future! Especially the Star Wars movies and

    THX 1138 !

If people compare the movie stories to our days situation in the world, politically and with all the survillance tech ect you knew it right back then. To sad most people only understood that those were just movies . . .

Best wishes, love, peace and light. May the force be with you all times:D

  • why did he ruin the two greatest trilogy's of all time?

  • @dubmatic808 cuz he dosnt care about the fans any more if we tell him to paint his house green he will paint it jar jar

  • i knew a star wars fan in school he had a great imagination. he imagined that he had a girlfriend and talked in a robot voice.....that fan was me.

  • OMG!! THIS MAN IS GREAT!!!

  • People who enjoyed the prequels are fucking idiots, why don't you get on your knees and let george use you like a toilet bowl?

  • I went to that when it was in Ohio. Simply amazing.

  • Thanks to star wars, I wanted to learn about filmmaking, right and wrong, and got me into story writing like fucking crazy.

  • check out my star wars movie , i redited , , George Lucas he is awesome

  • george lucas has done more for this country than any politician could ever do.

  • I would give up my 1st born child to see what Return of the Jedi would have looked like if Gary Kurtz had stayed on board as Producer and if Lucas had let Richard Marquand actually direct the film.

  • The man's neck won't stop growing.

  • YiPEEEEE, WIINE WHINE WHINE, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I love this guy. He has a neck that's MIA and when he opens his mouth to speak he sounds ike he's just coming out of a coma.

  • if george lucas died....sniff...

    it will be the end...

  • ughhhh look at his horrible swollen neck

  • BULLSHIT!

  • the force will be with you... always

  • He is a genius. The man himself is a movie scientist, and he redesigned Hollywood.

  • Star Wars was great thanks to people like Harrison Ford,Mark Hammil,Carrie Fisher and all the actors in the original 3. Star Wars was great because of Irvin Kershner,Gary Kurtz and the people who worked on the sets and effects. Star Wars was great because of the people who FIXED Lucas' crapppy dialogue and made it into something people could relate to. Ya know what you get when Lucas does it on his own? THE PREQUELS. Need I say more? This guy gets WAY too much credit!

  • @Chrisdrumz Well said.

  • @Chrisdrumz Yes. Too bad the Star Wars fanboys will never see the truth.

  • @digitalintent Yeah,it is. Lucas had a great idea with the first STAR WARS and he did an excellent job directing it. But,it was also a group effort and had he not had the cast he did,and the crew it would not have been as amazing as it is. As far as the prequels,he had too much power, and too many "YES" men around him. Does ANYBODY who grew up on the originals and loved and appreciated them REALLY enjoy the prequels?

  • @Chrisdrumz No, I don't know anybody who actually likes the prequels. But I am also 30 years old. I have noticed that those who find the Original Trilogy boring tend to be in around 22 and younger. I think that it has to do more with with the mentality of the generation and not the age though. I was 19 when I saw Ep 1 and I hated it. I would have hated it at 15 too!!

  • @digitalintent I love all six.

  • @BitHarmony fuck you please.....

  • @goukoube troll.

  • @digitalintent I'm 42. That puts me at age 9 when the first one came out. I remember, at the time (I'm an illustrator), I was really into Dracula, and Frankenstein, and the Wolfman and all that stuff that little boys like... and I saw a trailer. This trailer was unlike anything I had ever seen. There was a cool western type dude (Han Solo) riding shotgun with a Wolfman, who was armed. Needless to say- I HAD to see this thing. The rest is history.

  • @flicklefish I too love all those monster movies, westerns, plus all the great Harryhausen productions. Which is why the original trilogy is so great. It mixed all those elements that we creative kids loved (I'm a 3d artist).

But can you really tell me that the prequels had the same magic? Even if they were good I understand that they could never fully capture that magic. But they weren't even good movies. They failed on all levels... except as long commercials for Star Wars merchandise.

  • @digitalintent I don't think the prequels were as magical. Starwars was something no one had ever seen before when it came out in the 70's. But to say it isn't good may miss the mark. It's not as good as the originals... but on their own, they aren't as terrible as some say. High expectations, because George Lucas raised the bar so very high for himself. At the end of the day, I'd rather live in a world WITH those prequels, than without them. And the subsequent debates are fun. : )

  • @flicklefish I disagree. I wish the prequels never came out. They have too many plot holes, the stories were stupid, and it ruined the character of Anakin. It was always implied that Anakin was a good friend of Obi-Wan and what happened to him was tragic. I never felt in all those prequels that Anakin and Obi were friends. Anakin did nothing but scowl and complain the whole time. I honestly felt they were bad movies.

I agree about the debates though :)

  • @digitalintent Anakin didn`t complain more than Luke and we also saw that Obi Wan was just a very inexperienced mentor and most of Anakin` whining was justisfied, also they were great friends but friends do fight sometimes!!

  • @reviewreviewer1 seriously? You Again!?

  • @digitalintent AHA!!

  • @flicklefish Hey, at least we had the original trilogy to help guide us towards our respective careers! I love Lucas for that :)

  • He looks terrible.

  • I'd love to get into your intern program for film makers.

  • I LOVED Star Wars....I think though when George Talks about things coming true from Star Wars......I think what he meant was Star Trek.

  • why dont you have a neck?

  • I admire this man too much...

  • @TheQARK have you seen the prequels?

  • @NottinghamForest22 Yes Revenge of The sith is best movie ever made.

  • @TheQARK loll

  • @NottinghamForest22 Star Wars 3> Star Wars 6> Star Wars 1 > Star Wars 5 > Star Wars 2 > Star Wars 4.

From best to worst. But all star wars are awesome movies.

  • @TheQARK omg that was a horrible ranking. Phantom Menace better than Empire Strikes Back? lol!

  • @NottinghamForest22 Yes Phantom Menace is better than Empire Strikes Back

  • @TheQARK Lmao

  • @TheQARK

The Phantom Menace better than Empire? Wow, you gotta be one of the dumbest motherfuckers I've ever encountered on the internet, and that is saying something. Just stop typing. Please.

  • @KillSwitch2 Retard new Star Wars are better than old.

  • @TheQARK

You must be about 14 fucking years old. Seriously, how old are you? Be honest?

  • @KillSwitch2 I am 3567 years old. I doesent age.

  • @TheQARK

Uh huh. That's what I thought. Now shut the fuck up, kid.

  • @KillSwitch2 STFU GAY TARD I AM OLDER THAN YOU ALL.

  • @TheQARK The way yout acting proves your about 9 years old.

  • @TheQARK LOL, anyone who puts the prequels ahead of the originals are either complete and utter brain dead fanboys that only care about seeing lightsabers and shitty CGI or small children under the age of 10. I just hope to god you're the second one.

Heres a realistic list. Empire > Jedi > New Hope > God shit prequels.

  • @chuggyman1 Retard i am not kid.I am 31 years old. But new preqeuls are just better than old. Better effect, graphic, characters just everything...

  • @TheQARK better effects? graphics? AND (ROFL) Characters? are you actually trying to justify the lame, monotone, emotionless characters in the prequels, you are actually willing to go as far as to say the prequel characters are better than Han Luke and Leia? Maybe if you watched the movies for the art and story you'd actually enjoy the originals, but I can clearly see you just like fake looking CGI and mindless action every 2 seconds.

  • @chuggyman1 Effects are definately better in nev Star Wars.

  • @TheQARK meh, if you prefer fake cartoonie looking cgi, then yes the effects are better in the prequels. if you like puppets and actual models and sets that look real and have emotion, then the originals are better. with the special effects that all comes down to opinions because both trilogies so completely different in terms of effects.

  • @chuggyman1 But what is really better in nex trilogy is lightsaber battles. In old trilogy its slow and it new its awesome qucik battles.

  • @TheQARK meh, quick battles with 360 spins and no emotion and nothing for viewer to care about doesn't make the fight better, the battle between luke and vader at the end of jedi is far more interesting and has more going on than any battle in the prequels.

  • @chuggyman1 The best fighn in star wars is fight Obivan and Anakin in revenge of the sith and second between Darth Maul and Obivan, Qui-Gon.

  • @TheQARK If you mean the best choreographed fight then yes those two definately are, but best emotionally driven, story telling, and meaning fights they are not; that honor goes to Luke vs Vader in Empire Strikes back followed by Luke vs Vader in Return of the Jedi

  • @TheInstantClassic1 Fight between Obivan and Anakin/Vader in revenge of the sith was too very emotional

  • @TheQARK Yes you are correct and yes it was a good fight, but the problem with that was it didn't need to be as long as it did. It could have been the exact same length as any of the OT fights and it still would have had the same, emotional impact it was intended. It didn't need to be 40 minutes long; the point is Obi Wan defeats Anakin and Anakin becomes Darth Vader.

  • @TheInstantClassic1 And Yoda vs Sidious was awesome fight too. Revenge of the sith is really best movie ever made, is even more emotinal than old star wars movie.

  • @TheQARK You wouldn't happen to be attempting to troll now would you because this sounds waaay too obvious.

  • @chuggyman1 I like the prequals the most because of General Grievous... to tell the truth, Revenge of the Sith is my favorite, then Empire Strikes Back is my second favorite.

  • @TheQARK seriously?

  • @TheQARK You should watch STAR WARS Episode 1 & 2

  • @GrinningTurtle42 OMG I WATCH EVERY STAR WARS EVERY 6, ITS MY BEST MOVIE FRANCHISE !!!

  • @TheQARK lucas is a loser and a lier and an untalanted pos. he ruined star wars with those garbage prequels. he had talant at one time and wanted to make great films but then his focus turned into selling toys and making money. it started wih return of the jedi. a new hope was excellent empire was even better. thank god he had almost nothing to do with episode 5. thats why its so great. he kept his paws off of it.kershner, kurtz, Kasdan thank you for episode 5

  • @ming746 Uh that`s very wrong. 1. Lucas was the maker of IV and the director writer ad excecutive producer., and he 2. did have ALOT to do with V first of all again he was the maer nd had the las word, second he was akso co-writer witth Kasdan, and Both second unit and co-director with KAIRSHER AND EXCECUTIVE ORODUCER WTH kKurtz.

  • @reviewreviewer1 dude you are either lying to yuorself or you have no idea what u are talking about. the scrreenplay for epiosde 5 was writen by lawernce kasdan and partially by leigh bracket. kershner directed it. and both kersh and kurtz said lucas was on the set MAYBE 2 times during the entire filming and kershner said he was pleased that lucas left him alone and let him do things his own way. lucas even says so on the commentary of the dvd that its kershners film. u need to research

  • @ming746 Uh Lucas wS uncredited co-screenwriter, after eight Bracket died most of he draft wa discarded ans Lucas wtote the scecond and third draft whic wee most of what got ito the scriopt. Thye he hadnded it of too Kasdan wjo imopressed hi wit his Raider`s script. About the dierecting jus as with Jedi, More American FGrafitie and Raiders Lucas served as second unit director too helpsped uo production, he uindeed mostly alliwed him his wa but he did take over a couple of times and was uncrdited

  • @reviewreviewer1 I have no idea where u came up with that nonsense. i have been collecting star wars for 30+ yrs and have read everything there is to know about it. all of what u just said is false. please post where you came up with this bogus information. someone is filling your head with bullshit. again tell us and show us where you came up with this stuff

  • @ming746

You'll have to forgive poor reviewreviewer1, he lives with his head firmly lodged up in Lucas's butt along with his "flatmate" Rick McCallum. They seldom pop out for a dose of the real world.

  • @MulletPuppet well in his defense he is only 16 and really does not know any better. us older fans grew up reading and watching lucas interviews back in the 80s before he changed everything and started telling lies. we know the truth. so dies kurtz and others who keep calling lucas out..reviewer just needs to do some research from reliable sites and start believing in the truth and facts and stop being bias and believing in things HE WANTS TO BELIEVE IN. maybe 1 day he will.

  • @ming746

    Amen to that.

  • @ming746 Also uh wait wha tfacts/??? Things like that Lucas was Gargy Kurtz huis boss so he didn`t have to colleberate, and he logicly wouldn`t cause back then he was obdsessed wit pushing his vision and he had a deal to make the film, and didmn`t losten too all the cynics, he js followed his vision, so for Kurtz to say too somehow mindtricjk lucas into colleberation is a horrible lie. Or do you mwean aknowledhging that Lucas discribes detailed writig processes of Empire abd wiki states he...

  • @ming746 Oke uh I will start of by saying there are few articles that discrivbe the writing off all 4 screendrafts for Empire, and those odf wiki just happen yo be 1 of the few, annd claiming wwiki is unreliabl is rediculous cause they have great moderators and sources. Also uh Lucas talked about how he came up with and what the ide of The Battle of Hoth in inteerviews!!!!!!!!

  • @TheQARK What a HACK

  • love you

  • didn't you hear what he said you need to have a imagination to to create great things so why don't you get your head out of your ass and use it for something useful you jackass Russel Wilson was a pussy

  • CGI SUCKS ASSHOLE the clones looked like a video game THE PREQUALS SUCKED INDIAN JONES 4 SUCKED STOP MAKING MOVIES ASSHOLE

  • @RustinWilsonWasAMan YOu fucking disrespectful dirty cock sucker. Why would your mother give birth to your jammy ass.

  • @RustinWilsonWasAMan, Go fuck an electric bug killer you dumb fuck! The Prequels were great! And Indiana Jones IV was just as good! He is my idol and I bet your idol is Danny Elfman and John Holmes! Fuck off you stupid Star Wars hater!

  • @darthsugi89 not a star wars hater a prequal hater the originals were great i just dont like full cgi characters and landscapes

  • Still a cool dude though.

  • Look at the gobbler on George lol.

  • you suck george. You called my favorite movies.

  • Is his gf black?

  • OMG it`s Jabba the Lucas!!!

  • i would love to suck his proverbial cock

  • George Lucas was innovative and that is why he's so succesful. Even to this day, notice the number of films that are preludes (see below) after Star Wars episodes 1,2 and 3 came out.

    1. Terminator 4 (featuring a young Kyle Reese)

    2. Star trek (last summer which featured a young Captain Kirk)

    3. Batman Begins

  • @all028 These are all just franchise films. Studios love franchises because people already know the characters and usually more people go out and watch them. It sounds like what your saying is Lucas knew how to make more money offa people before others cottoned on. Aside from Star Trek, has any recent remake been a great film? Even Batman Begins was average.

  • @Pentdad: I agree they are franchise films and they are good money makers for the studios. I'm also not debating whether they were great films or not. You missed my point. I'm talking about the CONCEPT of a prelude

  • @all028 Yeah I see what you mean Brother, I just wouldn't really applaud him for it because in the long run nothing good has come of the idea so far- even his own prelude films were very average. What is your opinion on this anyway? A guy has 30 years to think of stories for a project he loves, and turns out 3 poor/average movies?

  • 0:36 I write EU all the time. And where does it get me? I just get devastated when no one wants to read my Fan-Fiction, and when I can't add anything to the worsening Expanded Universe because I'm too young to publish anything. :'(

  • That's no moon, it's George Lucas!

  • "Went for the kids, that's where the most money is! And it's easy work!"

  • @SopLusus yea lol

  • hah i see him every day lol

  • he's a genius

  • his chin ate his small chin

  • Why do you people fucking hate Mr. Lucas so much? All Star Wars movies were gold. And George is my hero, because Star Wars changed my life. Episodes I II and III were just as wonderful as IV V and VI! Like I grew up with the orignals but I have come to love everything that Star Wars has to offer! So if you hate I II III, then you are no fucking Star Wars fan!

  • @darthsugi89 You make a good point...but a bit harsh-sounding. Remove the cusses, add some sound reasons, a few nerdy "big words" as Americans call them, and people might just listen.

  • @darthsugi89 so true m8, im with you 110%

  • My name is George and I'm a fat goat who ate your childhood!

  • I live in George's hometown of Modesto,CA and I'm surprised we don't have a huge ass statue of George here LOL

  • Yeah, it should have.

  • @dankedlinds haha i´m surprised to man. u should have someone build big ass george statue ;D it would be awesome

  • @SuperAnime4life It would be a CGI statue though.

  • @Chrisdrumz haha yeah ok but still it would be amazing, even though i´d love to see a George Lucas statue made out of solid gold =P

  • Here's how it should have gone down. Padme should have been a bitch (seriously). She should have had ambitions of power, and when she realised Anakin was not only impressionable, but favored by Palpatine, she should have been the devil on his shoulder, pushing him toward Palpatine, and unknowingly, toward the Dark Side. Eventually, Anakin succumbs to this life of power, becomes a twat, kills Padme and wants nothing to do with the kids. Winner!

  • @Drwhodunnit1973 No way. That is just the suckiest thing I've heard about Star Wars since...er...

I could re-write the Prequel trilogy, changing things up with Padme. Have Anakin marry a Force-sensitive, you know?

  • Plus, since you've got me started, shitty dialogue. "Hold me like you did by the lake on Naboo, so long ago back when only our love mattered" BBLLEAARRGH! SHITE!

    Fucking DIRElogue more like!

  • You know why the old ones were so good? It's because for the first one, Lucas had to answer to the studios who changed a LOT of his ideas. His original draft was similar to the Phantom Menace "plot". For Empire and Jedi, he did NOT direct them! The guys who did direct them were actually GOOD at directing.

  • so you like star wars?

    do you like darth vader?

well, in the prequels, you get to see him as a little kid!

    -patton oswalt

    haha.

  • Who cares if some people thinks that star wars was allot better before. So what are we gonna do. Watch old star wars for the next 50 years?

  • @AcDmovie

Yes. That's what we should do. Oh, wait, Lucas has fucked up the classics too, adding a fake Bobba voice, shamelessly shoehorning unnecessary CG creatures in wherever there's a space, and worst of all he stapled that grimacing half-wit Anakin to the end of Jedi.

  • You know what? I did Imagine a lot in the Star Wars universe. :)

  • i went to this exhibit when it was at the california science museum, it was really cool

  • OMG! It's true he passed away!! OMG! OMG!

  • He's not dead.

"Inspired by 'Avatar', filmmaker George Lucas is planning to make 3D versions of his 'Star Wars' films. Lucas is keen to see the space franchise evolve, ..."

  • @ELIAXTRO ohno not dead i meen his talent died.

  • no its a re make

  • I was saddened to hear of his passing away in the night. I loved the original films, they defined my childhood.

Although the newer stuff is awful, he still gave a generation the greatest childhood possible. R.I.P, George.

  • @Drwhodunnit1973

That's kinda rude to tell him to rest in peace just because you disliked the newer movies..

  • Rude.

  • new stuff is good to

  • @FIGHTFANNERD3

New stuff is shite. Back in the day, Lucas had to answer to the studios and so Star Wars ended up a LOT different than he'd intended (better too). For the two sequels, he had other people to direct them and so they turned out great also.

These days, he answers to nobody and steamrollers ahead with whatever crap he wants to produce. The result is the sheer TOSS we've been given in the "prequel trilogy".

  • And those 3 movies are more than perfect and just as legendary as the original trilogy .

  • @wuababa

What, the new Star Wars films? They're shite! Anakin's "acting" was cardboard, Jar-Jar stank, Yoda is using a walking stick one moment, then giving it Ninja the next (no continuity). Plot holes, failure to marry up the story to the originals, No Han type character (he's the one we REALLY care about), GROSS overuse of CGI, Padme died of a "broken heart"- LAME!! Not to mention degrading to women. When they DID manage to get it right, with cool villains, they KILLED THEM OFF! Crap films!

  • Except for the 2 guys playing Anakin, there was nothing wrong with the acting . and why should there be a Han type character in the prequel movies ? that wouldn't be original at all . Creating new characters like Mace Windu, Qui-gon, Count Dooku and General Grievous is way better than just "reviving" old personalities through new characters .

  • @wuababa

That's your opinion about the quality of the acting, but let's face it, even Ewan McGreggor described the films as being crap.

  • so did Alec Guiness..

  • @wuababa

Hm. Must be an Obi Wan thing then.

The difference is that Guiness didn't understand the original films, he just went and did his job. McGregger, on the other hand, DOES understand them and differentiates between the classics and the new crap, calling the new ones rubbish.

  • Well doesn't matter what the actors think actually . I'm just a lil bit tired of hearing older generations critisising the new movies, just because the old movies were such a big part of their childhood . well, i was only 8 at the time episode 1 came out and no movie has ever had such a huge impact on me . and to me it's a classic and so is episode 2 and 3 . bad acting or not, the movies kicks ass, period .

  • @wuababa

My friend Yvonne, who is only 29, saw the originals back in 1998, which means she saw Episode 1 the very next year. She, like many others, agree that the new ones are crap.

Hmm.. ONE redeeming feature though, Liam Neeson. And they even killed HIM off. It's like, "let's get rid of the good stuff and keep the shit".

  • no matter what, all the new characters had to be killed to make the storyline work .. and yes i know the dialogue is corny, but so is the dialog in the old movies . nothing wrong with that .

  • @wuababa

Again, that's your opinion, and that's fine. But the thing is, all the dialogue in the new trilogy comes directly from Lucas, and he's bad at it. The old films were saved because of different directors, and the studios themselves altering it.

When Han (for example) simply says "I know" to Leia's "I love you", that was a classy line, but it was thanks to the director, not Lucas. Lucas has far too much control over the franchise now, and it shows.
