  • He had his lines taped to the mirror of his 1500 >XP

  • LOL

  • and then a follow up with a rebadging of srt-10 haha

  • no need for heat gun...

  • Im gonna make my Tacoma say just 'Taco' XD

  • why would you even want to de-badge a vehicle?

  • @WillehMac I saw someone do it to a G35 and replace the emblem with Skyline so people would think that it was a Nissan Skyline... it is stupid

  • Comment removed

  • @Skaterrocker842

Except that a G35 is a Nissan Skyline... just badged infinity in the USDM.

  • @lyquid I know that, but it is the fact that he did it. The GTR's are legal in the states, and they are like 80 grand so there is a big difference between the G35 and the Skyline. It is the fact that he tried to make his car seem like an $80k car.

  • @Skaterrocker842

Wrong again buddy, go have a look at the history of the Skyline. Skyline is just like any other model of nissan with different trims. Before the latest generation, the GT-R was just a high end trim of a Skyline, Nissan has since split the GT-R off of the Skyline trim and is sold as a seperate vehicle. If you were to buy a base Skyline in Japan, it would be exactly the same as a base Infinity G35 in the states.

  • @lyquid There is a difference, you cannot get a G35 as fast as a Skyline no matter how much money you dump into it. They are different cars with the same trim and body type, that is all. You won't see a stock G35 for 80 grand in the U.S. Plus still why would you try to badge your car as something that, at the time, was very rare in the United states? He was just doing it to look cool. And the GT-R has nothing to do with a high end trim, it has a faster engine in it than the other models.

  • @Skaterrocker842

What? The G35/37 and the skyline are the EXACT same car dude, same engine, same trans, identical except for a few minor details. Go look it up. A GT-R is no longer a skyline, which is what you keep referring too. I don't understand how you can keep arguing with me, these are facts, I'm telling you how it is, all you need to do is do some research.

  • @lyquid I just typed in "what is the difference between the g35 and skyline" on the search bar on google just to prove myself right. You keep repeating yourself. You keep talking about the body but explain to me why you can have a 600+hp skyline but you can't have a 600+hp g35. They are not the same at all! What you say may be facts but they are wrong! Through what I found, the g35 is more closely related to the 350z than the skyline.

  • @Skaterrocker842 You're killing me. Please go to the Nissan Skyline Wikipedia article. Are you there? As you can clearly see, the current Skyline is a G35. It does not cost $80,000 and you CANNOT buy one that is 600+ hp. The car you are thinking of is the Nissan GT-R, which is NOT a skyline. I don't know how many times I need to repeat myself.

  • @lyquid You are right, I was talking about the GTR, but it is still retarded to debadge your car and make it seem like a car that is from Japan. At that time, that model skyline was not even available in the U.S.

  • @WillehMac to make it look slick and straight, Personally subaru's look mad de-badged not sure about other cars;o

  • You guys friggin rock man. Thanks SO much

  • Use gas and a card

  • heat gun... um no its a hairdryer

  • you can use wd40 to remove the adhesive if you don't have the 3m.

  • I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe and I wanting to remove the rear bowtie. How do I know if it is held on by adhesive?

  • where the fuck am i gonna get a heat gun

  • @jtoregan Use a hair dryer.

  • now i know how to get rid of emblems now can you tell me how to get rid of herpes

  • @RideS2004 aahahahahhahahahahah! this mad me laugh really hard.

  • Plastic razorblades work nicely too

  • Don't use thinner...no mineral spirits...no metal to paint...no guitar strings...no air craft adhesive remover...no magic erasers or scotch pads...use your brain...might want to leave to the pros...I've seen a lot of impatient do it yourselfers jobs and some really effed up their paint jobs...

  • Fastest way is....1. Clean surface 2. heat gun (badge letters) 3. Fishing line (remove the chrome badge) 4. 3M Pin stripe remover rubber wheel attach to drill 5. Follow up with citrus based adhesive remover (for any adhesive residue left behind) best way I have done over 100 Trucks, Cars, Motorcycles, RV's, Boats, etc... Also use your brain and be careful with any method. Don't ruin your paint with the wrong adhesive remover. Happy Debadging!

  • Will the heat also melt the paint off my car or no?

  • i dont think inside a garage is a well ventalated area

  • grat vid guy thanks and as for the blow dryer comment i have the same q. would that work?

  • use a tree branch and a hamb sandwich 3 min max

  • would a blow dryer work lmfaoo

  • bondo applyer and brake clean 5 min max

  • use a credit card.

  • 3m earse wheel is a beast i just got mine and did my silverado in 10 mintues

  • i did debadge my 2011 ram 1500 in a natural way.....pretty simple, i parked it outside in a sunny day and the adhesive softens then i pulled the emblem one by one..then i wiped the area clean with the adhesive remover......

  • So we dont use a pry bar and a hammer? aww man......dads gonna be pissed!!!!

  • I wanna do this with the Ford logo on the back of my mustang

  • Engine De-creaser works well on any surface and removes any type of blue residue

  • Why would anybody wanna remove a logo unless ur drivin a KIA....KIA=UNCOOL

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM HAHAHAAHAH. which is why i am viewing this video

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM If your logo is worn from 14 years of neglect (like on my Dodge Intrepid) and want to replace it with a new one, you have to remove the old crappy one in order to install the new one.

  • I'm trying to remove a badge from one car and transfer to any another one,how can I get them to re-stick?please help..

  • cool vid lol rams are such huge vehicles!

  • ok my toyota is now definately gonna say just YO

  • thanks gonna turn my tacoma into taco all the way around!

  • so my dodge ram 1500 is going to be a SRT10 now lol

  • @hernandadmx Don't put SRT10 unless it is. Please.

  • lol now i can de-badge my GTR and whack p-plates on it and no one is the wiser hehehe

  • I'd like to debadge my s10 xtreme, and one of the badges is stuck on over top of a stripe decal. If I use this method will the adhesive remover and whatnot peel the decal? Or damage it in any way?

  • Is this illegal in some states, to take off the name of the identifying vehicle?

  • @mehiael Removing the emblems isn't illegal. Removing the VIN is.

  • Cool, I've been needing to do this for a while, I got too many people wanting me to race me in my WRX Wagon. So, I need to get the "WRX" emblem removed real soon.

  • @kazell09 might have to get rid of the bonnet scoop aswell, bit of a give away.

  • @kazell09 oh no! people want to race you! quick take off the badge or god knows what will happen! D:

  • just debadged my brand new bike n removed the decals...well you just need a razor blade (for decals) , a screw driver (for the plastic/metal stickers) , a blow dryer (to heat em up) and any of those spray cleansing liquids and maybe a lil thinner but not really required ....looked like they were never there !! :)...good luck!!

  • Pardon me, but why do people de-badge their vehicles?

  • @RoyWriter LOOKS CLEANER AND JDM ASS FUCK !!!

  • @COOLBLUERED Whoa bro, chill out. Everything is going to be okay.

  • @RoyWriter If like me on the side of my car it says "Elegance" :)

  • @RoyWriter i have a Mercedes 1995 C280 and the c fell off from who knows what so i removed the rest (the 280 part) and actually i think it looks better without all that letter junk on the back.

  • this works for body cladding too right??

  • nice demo... 3M works pretty good... i recommend rubbing the majority of the adhesive off with your fingers before using the 3M, much quicker... for most cars you'll have evidence of where the badge was even after complete removal of adhesive.. meguiar's scratch X 2.0 will take this off like butter (trust me)!!!

  • "make sure you do this in a well-ventilated area..." *No mask, garage door closed* hahaha

  • What's the easyest and best way to take care of were the holes are in the body when the badge is removed

  • @bsl3216 They Usually don't have holes under them unless there Plug in Badges

  • dental floss AND WD 40 its all it takes

  • @poglepig2102 so no adhesive?

  • @poglepig2102 DW40 eats your paint smart one...

  • @DIENAMICProductions WD40 does NOT eat your paint. Anyways, it's not the paint you have to worry about it's the clear coat. WD40 works great, just soak the adhesive with a damp rag for a couple of minutes and wipe away. Just don't use in direct sunlight or if the metal is very hot. As always, wash all chemicals off immediately after use.

  • @poglepig2102 will WD 40 hurt the paint?

  • @poglepig2102 WD-40 is a good adhesive remover?

  • @poglepig2102 lmao so many people are gonna be hating you

  • @poglepig2102 THE MEXICAN WAY!!!

  • where can i buy that 3M adhesive cleaner?

  • @obzen33 in a store

  • I did use my strong hand to remove them from my car!! and then i wax it off the rest of it!

  • p.s. dont use survival wire to take the badges off!!

  • yea cause we all have spare air compressors lying arround to blow the fart particles off our cars....

  • @Birdcage67554 Don't be a wise ass. Canned air will work just fine. If that's too expensive for you, just head over to the local DIY car wash and use the pressure washer. BONUS: Clean vehicle.

  • @jmfalcon1 hahaa man im just kidding....i felt like trolling the day i posted that. it sounded funny to me....

  • @Birdcage67554 I can see how that could be funny on the right day. Some people are just perma-trollers though and need a little shut down every now and then.

  • @jmfalcon1 yea i agree....

  • nail polish remover works to

  • wish i knew this when i used a small flathead to remove my mercury emblem. left scratches like a muthafucka

  • great upload.

  • heating not necessary. Just start lifting offf!

  • why does he say Adhesive weird?

  • @Dejrymes

thats how u say it noobcake..

  • @vadimyuryev maybe in america but where i am from you would pronounce it like: Ade-sive not Ad- He-sive

maybe im just common but it just agitated me thats all

  • @Dejrymes its ade-HE-sive. say it like this so you don't look retarted

  • @adderguy6 if i said it like that i would look retarded

  • @Dejrymes says you , ya fuckin dick head ,go loss your virginity you little chicken ass internet bitch.

  • @adderguy6 lol calm down

  • boiling waater and a piece of string is the ghetto way

  • good video but i dont know if i want to do it to my ram just yet

  • how would you go about taking off the z71 sticker on a chevys rear panels? i was wondering and there arent any vids for it

  • Pretty good video. I just wanna say you can also use wax & grease remover on the area just to make sure there was nothing left behind after you removed the badges.

  • nice tutorial!

  • what if i want to take the badge off paint it and put it back on? what glue do i use?

  • good shit but with the heat gun can i use a blow dryer?

  • Would goo gone be a good substitute for the 3m stuff?

  • @bigjatt69 I heard it's bad for your paint

  • works on 2010 camaro as well, right?

  • very nice tutorial buddy.

  • sweet truck.. and i wonder if dental floss would work

  • When he says "...youtube dot com forward slash..." it's a actually a forward slash :p

  • I have a quick question, hope you can help. I want to repaint my badges black, but painting them while on the car creates drips and smudges. I know how to take them off now, is there an easy way to get them back on? Any specific adhesives I could use?

  • you can still see where the logos were on my car. how do i get rid of that

  • @berlow7 buffer and then polish ;)

  • @damianosRC buff with what nd polish with what

  • good vid. i need to remove the emblems and the center trunk badge from my 03 corolla. I also need to remove the door bump guards from the car too. Im guessing its the same process as well?

  • great vid . . thanks

  • can u just use goo gone to get that stuff off

  • i found this video somewhat useful but not exactly what i was looking for. see, i have a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 and the badge i would look to remove is the CHEVROLET written across the tailgate as well as the dealer's mark. both are held on with adhesives. it looks more like a sticker than an emblem though so i was wondering if the same technique would work

  • anyone know of a good place to find out if any given vehicle, by make and model, has adhesive on the main emblem or if it will have the holes?

  • @wanctil I would call the parts department and asked :)

  • I tried goo gone few times and it really suck, it's like spraying water: it give the same results!! Maybe goo gone in Canada is not the same formula than US...

  • i used a box cutter and muscle. I got em off but there is a lil glue residue left and it ticks me off.

  • love to the truck!

  • awesome!

  • I hate when theres little hole suprises after removing a main emblem.

  • what do you do if you can still see the logo in the paint where the sun faded it

  • How do you remove a Saturn emblem its an indented impression so that its snuggled into the frame. Thanks you for any suggestions!

  • Hey how to put the badge back on? thnx

  • hey guys i want to do this on my car.. its silver.. is it true the paint under the metal characters will be a different colour than that surrounding it... if so will you not see the outline of the words making it look stupid?

  • I just got a 1994 Acura Integra, I'm kinda scared to do this myself. Can you get this professionally done?

  • do they sale adhesive remover at walmart?? =D

  • just took the badges and trim off of my ram, it is a 97 so they came off pretty easy. i used wd40 and fishing line. now i have to go back out side and take off the sticky adhesive still stuck on their =(

  • @davidtorres813 can you see a difference in the paint? i have a 97 too and i want to do this but i dont want the outline of the letters to show.

  • mine ripped the clear coat off ug

  • so you use adhesive to romove the gum and after its gone use goo gone?

  • Dude i give u 100% on this.

  • won't the heat from the heat gun damage the paint?

  • Just did it to my 2010 Chevy Silverado today, worked like a charm. I appreciate it.

  • Can I use a blow dryer?

  • AWESOME VIDEO! Good Info! Thank you!

  • 4:02 thats actually a forward slash just sayin..

  • alright! now i just have to buy a car

  • @valetdabess ahaha im in the same exact level your on! High five

  • @valetdabess lol

  • why would you wanna take the badge off?

  • @TopOfTheLine3 a cleaner look for you car.

  • This worked great for me. I did all the steps but i used goo-gone, and no heat gun.

  • aluminum polish works too

  • Vehicles should not be de-badged and put other fake badges on it. Like Chev badges on Commodores

  • Will there be shadowing left behind in the paint where the badges were?

  • BTW nice truck:)

  • GOO GONE FTW!! haha

  • Great video, thanks so much for doing it.

  • great information, just a question, if i'm to do this to an older car, would the adhesive be harder to remover?

  • @zzttaa1122 I'm gonna guess it would be easier, but an older car would have a higher risk of uneven paint fading, like under the badges would be fresher since it was protected

  • I used rubbing alcohol. doesn't hurt your car.. I took off my jeep Elbelm today looks Awsome

  • Thanks for the video, worked great. My truck is new so I didn't need to use any heat. The fishing line and adhesive remover worked perfect. The process only cost me $2.50, for the fishing line. I already had some Goo Gone so I used that.

  • So why do people want to debadge their vehicle?I think the chrome letters look good.

Is this an American thing;because I haven't seen this debadging done in Canada.

I can see maybe taking off the dealer sticker, but why the emblems?

  • @JBodine67 Well personally i think it is just an advertisement for the company. I took mine off because I believe the chrome and company symbol didn't fully go well with the color of my car (and honestly i just wanted to be slightly different) But say if i owned a higher value car such as a audi or bmw then i probably would not remove the chrome or company symbol. Just a personal preference i guess, same reason why people add things to their car.

  • Thanks for the video. My truck is kinda new so I didn't even have to use my wife's dryer, I was able to just use the fishing line to remove the badging. The adhesive come off with some Goo Gone that I already had. I only spent $2.50 on the fishing line. Thanks for your help.

  • How can I find out if the badges on my car have posts? I would like to remove the badges, but I'm not at the stage of filling in the body...

  • what kind of rims are those on this dodge?

  • I used a blow dryer to weaken the adhesive and used floss to take it off my Bimmer lol

  • dude i just "debadged" my 08 650i BMW i pulled off the emblems off with my fingers an used goo gone to get rid of the gunk left over, took 7 min. common sense if you as me, how to you take off a bandaid? take it off with your fingers then wash it DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • My uncle Banged out ford on his truck years ago when I was a kid and when I asked him why his reply was "Ford don't pay me to advertise!"

  • @rayamanelly

I like that phrase your uncle use. Ford don't pay me to advertise..lol

I'm taking my emblem off my ford too..haha

  • Great Vid! I have a question though, If I wanted to remove the emblems with this process then re-apply the emblems to my truck how would I do that? I was planning on painting my emblems then reattaching them, so what supplies would you recommend to make sure they stick on as good as the factory adhesive?

  • brilliant .. thanks for the video upload, VERY HELPFUL!

  • The way it's done in the video is jsut fine but kind of overkill. I just debadged my car and it took 15 minutes. What I used:

    1. Dental Floss

    2. Dremel Polish wheel (mostly use soft "Viva" paper towels) for the end.

Just take dental floss and floss them suckers off slowly. Then I used my dremel with a polishing wheel to get the goo crap off, but soft Viva paper towels work well too. That's it..it really took me 15 minutes and nothing gets scraped or dinged or anything.

  • Thanks for the tutorial. Just de-badged my vehicle. Used cheap $9.00 hair dryer from walmart, fishing line, face mask, clean cloths and 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner as said in your video. Was able to pick up all supplies in Walmart which made it that much easier. Took 40 minutes to take off 1 sticker, two emblems, and 2 plastic pieces from the side of my motorcycle. Guess since the bike was so new, the adhesive left just rolled off. Used only a dab of 3M to clean up area. THANK YOU!!

  • *8* or "10" lbs line?? lol

  • hey there i was wondering if u could help me out. i want to de badge my 1992 gmc 1500 short box truck. some people have told me that there will be rust or a different color of paint underneath the emblems do to wear and since its so old. how ever it kinda has this rubber border around the truck at the bottom i sure u know what i talkin about. my main concerns is that cuz there barley any badges on it and just want to get that off.i will post a link to show u.

  • how do u debadge a honda's front emblem cuz i want to put a type R emblem on it

  • Does anyone know if the badges on a 2007 ford ranger are adhesives? I don't want to take of the badge and be stuck with two holes.

  • @MTLKEBEK dude, no way, I have a 2007 ford ranger sport 4x2, and are your emblems just above the "ranger" tag? Mine look like they have two screws in them, but they are just adhesive, I'm removing mine in the summer using this method.

  • I want to take them all off.

  • @MTLKEBEK then i would just do it this way, that 3m shit works really well on this kind of stuff, so just get some of that, but I would use a hairdryer first instead of a heat gun, that's a little overkill.
