  • "D" Russian Single Letter HF Beacon on 7039 kHz?

  • wow !

  • I have the same set-up. I think the antenna is really a miracle dummy load and have yet to have a qso with it. On a short wire the 817 works much better with a tuner. Great rig.

  • That was a 'SV' station in the middle of your video. They were speaking Greek. Nice vacation setup! Greetings from Ohio, and 73!

  • It's a short helically loaded endfed whip with an L match at the feedpoint. There's really no miracle to it, and someone (I forget who) put it really well when talking about this tendency to get a cute little antenna to go with your cute little rig: you'll have a cute little signal. HF QRP needs lots of wire. Having said that, this 'miracle whip' thing is adequate for a bit of listening. I'd make a simple L match and have a few metres of wire to hitch up to the nearest support. Cheaper.

  • As an avid hiker, backpacker and camper. The miracle antenna has a very small weight load, small footprint and is easily deployed. Everyone thinks you have to have big. This antenna is a well designed portable device. If you're looking for the best and the smallest antenna for portable HF. This is probably going to be the ticket.

You have a strong carrier and good sideband suppression!

    peace :)

  • A lot of good reviews in the miracle whip web site, but i was steered away from it since i want to get an 817 too! I just passed my teck and general test last night and am still smiling! 73's KN

  • I was told (from many hams that build and know antennas) that this Miracle Antenna is a piece of junk! There is a lot better antennas out there!

  • I never said this is the best antenna....

but it works, with a bit of patience..

however it is really good on receiving

  • I have a an 817 and a home made miracle whip indoors from my bedroom

in london on 5 watts i have made contact with italy/bulgaria/slovenia and russia thats between 897 miles and 2000 miles not KM mostly 20 metres it cost me 20 quid to build an thats with no counterpoise.

The Miracle Whip is not the best Antenna. But it is setup very fast. It is ideal for checking the bands before setting up a more complex antenna like my MP1 with extra long whip^^
