hahaha i showed my umbrella cockatoo cayman this video and he staretd dancing also then he started saying "Im the parot" a bunch of times he also kept sayin "HELLO!"
I love these birds. One of my best friends has one and she dances when I play guitar. I actually am learning this song ( that's how I found it lol ;)! ) so maybe dance to it also. In the end good song, good bird , good vid!
Too precious. I want an umbrella but I don't think my neighbors will appreciate the ungodly noises that they make! HAHA! I'll have to wait till my husband and I move again. -sigh-
@heather910711 - really, i still dont understand why anyone ever decided make them pets. my guess is they figured they could make some money while sending them somewhere else at the same time. umbrellas typically are very difficult animals to keep, most of the time they are very needy, will bite your ankle if given the chance, will screech until they get their way and demand attention, and you dont even want to think of what they can do to your house, esp any wood.

@heather910711 - its not that they are super loud for a bird, its more that they are incessant and capable of making some of the most annoying sounds you will ever hear. try listening to one making screeching noises by chewing the paint of its cage for 2 hours straight(and thats the least annoying). they are more quiet if they only live with one person as they are not competing for attention. they do funny things but are referred to as velcro birds for a reason.
@heather910711 - and you will most likely be bitten by it on occasion, unless you have very fast reflexes or never let it out. it might have periodic obsessions with inanimate objects or places, flash lights, open drawers, closets, alarm clocks. try keeping it on a perch when all it wants to do for a month is chew on the alarm clock or run under your bed because he saw a flashlight under there at some point. even wearing new glasses might get you bitten on the nose if not careful
Very cute, I love it :) Though I know a lot of birdies like the hair dryers, be sure that your hair dryer doesn't have teflon in it (most of them do), it can be pretty harmful to your birdy. :)
@RustyNailMediaInc If you'd rather throw insults than showing concern for something that can harm someones bird so be it. That just proves what kind of person you are.

I've never seen a U2 bop his head like that before. Our U2 Angel dances from the feet only. Are you sure that your Zoar-Zoar knows he's a U2 and not a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo? LOL
My U2 loves the hair dryer after a shower. She expects it immediately after the shower. She whines when I am not fast enough finishing up my shower until I get out the blow dryer.
OMG.too funny..My Too dances too..but now I have to try it with the blow dryer......when she almost fell backwards...OMG the look on her cute little face.....too funny
@Chelbsie Many large parrots will almost train themselves not to poop on their owners. My umbrella cockatoo will sit on us, go for car rides, etc and will not go until we lift him up and hold him out away from us to go. However, if he isn't on us, or in the car, any other area is fair game, but he has a body language that says he needs to do his business.
@Chelbsie keep bringing it to a specific spot and telling it to go poop. when it poops in that spot give it a treat and lots of praise, and after a while they will only poop in their cage and wherever you tell them to poop :)
@CowieMooCowxo87 - i dont know what bird you have but that would never work for my umbrella, though hes pretty bad. myabe if i gave him a cheeto or french fry every time he crapped but that wouldnt be good
@TheFreshPeddler yeah I guess it depends on the type of bird. I have had a molluccan cockatoo who was very well potty trained. if he wasn't in his cage or on one of his stands he wouldn't poop unless you told him it was ok, so he never pooped on any furniture! and a sulphur crested, as well as 2 umbrellas. you could try to find a bird trainer/expert or something to help you. in the meantime praise him when he poops somewhere good and say "no, bad" when he poops elsewhere.
@CowieMooCowxo87- its not something i would even think about getting an expert to attempt, though i doubt anyone could train the little bastard lol. he clearly knows what hes supposed to do and not but doesnt care. he doesnt poop on furniture really, just floor or carpet as their instinct is to poop on the ground. usually he will stop attempting if you yell at him early enough. molluccans do tend to be more calm but they all have their own personal tendencies.
@Chelbsie super late response, but yes birds can be potty trained. It can sometimes be a risk though because if not done correctly they won't want to go unless told. This causes them to get infections that can sometimes kill them :( I just let mine poop, and make sure I have something under them. Like at the kitchen table I use paper plates under my cockatoo lol
@Chelbsie - it might be possible, but would be very difficult considering they can often drop a load every 15 minutes or so and dont respond to any sort of positive or negative reinforcement like a dog would.. im sure the species would play heavily to that as you would have to start with an intelligent species. if you have a cockatoo, you might not even want to try as they just do as they please, mine will sometimes crap on the carpet and laugh about it so he knows but doesnt care
