the point of view gun was such a clever way to show what Trillian felt. If she said the words herself, it wouldn't have been as poignant as it was. All the dazzling effects in the movie were great, but this part, though visually unremarkable, is my favorite scene in the movie.
"It won't affect me, I'm already a woman." :P I love the book, and though the movie might not have lived up to the book, I still liked it. And I love Trillian in the movie.
Zaphod was a kind of freewheeling American-esque kind of California hippy beach-bum guy anyway. Ford's an alien as well. I agree that Trillian should have remained English, as well as Arthur.
I didn't even mind the movement of the story to being an Arthur/Trillian thing, but they could have done it a lot better.
I like the way that it moves the story the central love story forward which is after all, how the movie was made to work by playing up the arthur-trillian love story.
Zooey's just too cute.. :)

American Movie. It's not nice, but it's true.
Plus if you watch the BBC series, only Arthur and Ford were English. Both Zahpod and Trillian had American accents.

@TomMSTie
but that was a change from the radio series

That it was. In the last book, Trillian is American, implying that it's a different Trillian...I think.
