They don't have to ask everyone. Opinion polling is a very interesting science you can read about in Wikipedia.
The industry standards include a 95% confidence interval along with a certain margin of error. That means 19 out of every 20 polls you see will be accurate within whatever range they tell you.
Polls aren't exact, but they're almost always close. Plus different pollsters ask many of the same questions, so you can compare results and remove outliers.
Operation chaos is not about voting for Hillary and against Obama. It is about dividing the democrat party and exposing its electorate process for what it is. Simply undemocratic. Superdelegates can throw out the popular will. Beautiful. And we aim to assist.
Joe, how do you feel about the super delegates having a say in this nomination process? Why not just have the VOTERS decide who gets the nomination? (is it true that the Dem. party doesn't trust the voting public to nominate the candidate?) Do you think that after this race, the Dems will abolish the present system that has super delegates, and allow just the people to decide who gets the nomination? After all, why hold the primaries and have elections if peoples' votes don't really count?
Last question first, the primaries do count, which is why we haven't needed superdelegates to weigh in during recent nominations. They're only important now because both candidates did very well.
I understand the argument that we need elected officials to have some sort of stake in order to generate enthusiasm. On the other hand, I think this election demonstrates that the roughly 1/6 stake is too large.
Joe, is it just Republicans (like Rush) who avoided serving in Vietnam? I've heard rumors that at least a few Democrats also avoided Vietnam service. Thanks for you objectivity and living up to a stereotype.
Joe, I appreciate your feelings and this video, as well as your passion. As for young voters (the 18-25 year olds) they have NEVER made a dent in deciding one way or the other in a November Presidential election. Never. Rock the Vote is a joke. It was a joke in 2000, and in 2004. Why do you think politicians go before large groups of old people so often to speak? C'mon...you know the answer...it's because old people (the over 50 crowd) actually get off their butts on election day and they VOTE.
When a Presidential election is truly influenced by the voting block that comprises young people (people 25 and younger), I will take notice, and surely will be impressed. Until this actually happens, no offense but your words fall on deaf ears. I have been hearing about "young voters" for more than 20 years, and they NEVER make any real impact when the votes are counted. Sure, people like yourself are energized and will vote in Nov., but many people in their 20's and teens simply don't vote.
The final point made in this video would worry me quite a bit if I were a Barrack Obama supporter. He said that young white ppl like Obama, but old white ppl do not. Anybody who knows anything about Presidential elections knows that HUGE percentages of older ppl vote white very SMALL percentages of young ppl vote. Hence, all the MTV "Rock the Vote" campaigns have NEVER fucking worked...young ppl have NEVER made a difference in voting when it came to deciding who the President was.
aaaredskin, I just want to put some actual numbers in where you say HUGE and SMALL.
4 years ago, seniors had the highest turnout at 73%, and 18-24 year-olds had the lowest at 47%. Everyone else was in that 26 point range.
That difference is important, but it doesn't invite dismissal of the 12 million people under 25 who will vote this year, probably with a margin of millions for Obama.
Oh, and before Rock the Vote started in 1992, participation wasn't 47%, it was 36%.
You're right, that's definitely a possibility. There might be more sincerity involved than I give them credit for. The net effect is somewhat the same though.
Ha, so many "so called right wingers" are so against McCain and Obama, that they'd just assume Hilary win...forgetting once again what a dread Bill was on their gun rights and what not.
As a gun owner, I don't feel that Obama is any more of threat to those rights than McCain, but Hilary is the fucking devil.
However, "so called right wingers" are so afraid of an African-American as president, and McCain as a closet liberal, they'd vote for Hilary to bite their nose to spite their face.

"I am writing too in the hope that my telling this one story will help you understand more clearly how so many fine people have come to find themselves still loving their country but loathing the military, to which you and other good men have devoted years, lifetimes, of the best service you could give."
If I had to leave my country to avoid a war I opposed, I'd be more forceful than that.

I believe Obama will have some trouble in the general election, and the Wright issue has not been swept under the rug.
You are mistaken my friend, but it's not your fault. You've heard this from people you thought had their act together. For the popular vote count, in its various interpretations, visit realclearpolitics(dot)com. The righthand sidebar has a link.
If you count MI and FL, the votes are 197,505 in favor of Barack. Mind you, that's including a state where he wasn't on the ballot.
Cut out rigged Michigan, but keep Florida, and he's ahead 525,814.
G. Gordon Liddy is a convict who should be retired from influencing presidents. If McCain considers Liddy a part of his brain trust, that's a very bad thing.

No 1. I voted in Indiana how does he know who Im going to vote for in the general election?
No 2. Clinton was already toted as winning Indiana, Obama was toted as winning N.Carolina where exactly is this chaos working seems like it has all went as predicted.
No 3. Exit polls are as accurate as Rush Limbaugh.(Rush: "Embryos come from abortions"
"nicotine is not addictive, cigarettes don't cause emphysema and other diseases."
I know this is a little off topic but, I find it funny that some people won't vote for Barack because they say he's black. So I have a question... Does that mean the nubian (black) gene is more doiminat? I ask this because it seems as though a person half black and white is defined as just being black, and the fact that he/she is white is ignored. This goes for anyone who's half black with any other race, oriental, indian.
That's because race is a social construct first and a genetic phenomenon second.
People who look like Barack Obama are socially black regardless of their family. The term "mixed race" has more to do with one's ancestry, so in different ways, Obama is both of those things.
I am not sure how I feel about this operation Chaos. I don't really mind it in the open election states where this is happening. It seems a bit extra shady though when you actually register as a Dem temporarily in order to pull off the scam.
On the other hand, For all the republicans who's votes officially mean nothing when it comes to voting in their own party- at least it gives them the feeling of doing something to forward, and support, their political ideals.
For the record, Indiana was wide open while North Carolina was open to Democrats and people with no party enrollment if they joined up on the spot.
Those Republicans should give their favorite candidate (or election committee) some money. The entire Republican party is getting hammered in fundraising this year.
I wonder what the soldiers are thinking about when they hear of what the republicans are doing with their vote. Surely they can see to what degree the repubs will go to keep the soldiers killing and dieing. How on earth can they that vote like that, call themselves Americans. They, like Bush are a disgrace against America! And I would be proud to get thumbs down from anyone of them, so go at it!!
That all depends on how soon is soon and how much is much. I think this can continue to the end of the primaries on June 3rd without real harm. But I also think May 20 will turn out to have been the most significant turning point.
If we're still bickering in July, then we're really hurting our chances because the losing side needs time to get over it.
I noticed in Indiana how Obama won in democrat areas, but how Clinton won in republican areas, but you put numbers on it. There are some republicans who would vote for Obama, but never for Clinton. I think Obama would have won by even a bigger margin if it was not for operation kaos.
Well done. But I have to say the only I'm commenting is because of what you said about people gloating you right up the most discussed list. Just trying to help you get seen.
Nice analysis - I was wondering how much of an impact Rush and others were having but hadn't figured out it might be a line item in CNNs exhaustive exit poll.
It's very worthwhile to know that a significant, I think to it's safe to say key, element of Clinton's support is, in fact, people who hate her & are desperate to run against her.
People who say this factor is overblown ignore the fact that Rush's listeners call themselves dittoheads - they're proud of their unquestioning loyalty.
I think you made some extraordinary points - and made them really well!
To add I wanted to say something about Indiana, (which I know all too well):
Indiana "hoosiers" are like concrete: All mixed up and permanently set!
They are deeply attached from reality - And there is NO use attempting to persuade them away from "magical thinking" paradigms! (Believe me: I'm quite qualified to make this statement)
Haha, cool. Only you can remove comments from your videos, so either YouTube glitched or you accidentally hit remove instead of reply (which I have done before).
I'm a 35 yr old Independent turned Obama supporter. I find it extremely interesting that as soon as McCain shored up his Republican nomination, is the EXACT same time that Clinton started her 'comeback' Look it up cause I need finger graphs to illustrate LOL! Great job as usual Joe.
We have so many people in this country! And while the Republicans arranged the process so that it will resolve early (winner-take-all states), the Dems have proportional states in order to provide a clearer reflection of public will, which, with 2 good candidates, means a long race.
I think McCain will still win going away... In 2000 and 2004 you had the "typical" candidate and kept it close even though they were bad candidates. Now you have a black guy with no real experience and a women who's image could not be worse. Two bad candidates both being political minorities equals a McCain landslide in November.... I'm still writing in Dr. Paul.
In the unlikely event that happens I will be trying to persuade you to vote Clinton.
In a more likely scenario, when she drops out I'll make a video about the good side of Hillary, and why she's an asset in the Senate. Because we'll need to create a bond with her supporters, and because I believe it.
I'm willing to listen to you on that Joe, because you make great arguments. BUT... I'm hoping we wont have to go there ;) I really don't think, unless something drastic happens, that Mr. Obama wont win the nomination. I have to agree with TicketKev too! Craziest. Election. Ever.
But I was happy to see this in last night's Obama campaign email:
"...we did much better than all the pundits predicted, despite Republicans changing parties to support Senator Clinton, believing she would be easier for Senator McCain to defeat."

I live in Indiana and I know some people who are McCain fans and voted for Hillary. It's sad that people do that. I voted Obama!

It's nice to hear where people are from.

I noticed in Indiana how Obama won in democrat areas, but how Clinton won in republican areas, but you put numbers on it. There are some republicans who would vote for Obama, but never for Clinton. I think Obama would have won by even a bigger margin if it was not for operation kaos.
It is true older people are more predjudiced.

I rated it a five. Incredibly entertaining video as always. I encourage everyone to remember to rate! Thanks for the video Joe!

And I just rated your comment.

Well done. But I have to say the only I'm commenting is because of what you said about people gloating you right up the most discussed list. Just trying to help you get seen.

Good enough for me, Ian! :)

FeelFreeToArgue 3 years ago
It's not the the ditto factor.... it's the shear number of people who listen to him.

damnit.

(Believe me: I'm quite qualified to make this statement)
sugarpuddin88 3 years ago
That's a funny metaphor, sug!

"Bitter?"
thegreenskies 3 years ago
Concrete--in general.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
sounds like the same thing- trying to explain why people would vote republican.... or not vote obama.
thegreenskies 3 years ago
Rush should have called it: Operation Fat-Body!

i'm a young white.. (and voted Obama.. damn i'm predictable)

Hey, not bad for Texas! Any Rick Noriega supporters in your house?
(He's running for Senate down there.)
JoeFelice 3 years ago
I was about to respond to your comment, but then I noticed it has disappeared?? - did you remove it?
idiotwind75 3 years ago
Haha, cool. Only you can remove comments from your videos, so either YouTube glitched or you accidentally hit remove instead of reply (which I have done before).
JoeFelice 3 years ago
If you immerse yourself deep enough in any belief system, no amount of impartial evidence will dissuade you.
(This comment works in a lot of places btw.)

I was hoping you'd keep me updated about the Rush Limbaugh strategy, thank you!

TeleShaman 3 years ago 2
My parents want McCain to go for the win. But I feel Obama and Clinton, I know where they're coming from. I like the finger graphs too! 5 stars!
JesseQuintana 3 years ago
Eh. Dont really care lol. Nobody I want to win ever wins. I dont really like anyone that is running really. Just puppets of the NWO.

Good lord this election process of yours is long, tricky, and full of all kinds of strange stuff.
jillenium00 3 years ago
We have so many people in this country! And while the Republicans arranged the process so that it will resolve early (winner-take-all states), the Dems have proportional states in order to provide a clearer reflection of public will, which, with 2 good candidates, means a long race.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Craziest. Election. Ever.

Paul.
thegreenskies 3 years ago
so I guess you can count on me as help agaist McCain.
thegreenskies 3 years ago
I too will be writing in Dr. Paul if for some reason Clinton gets the nod. I cannot in good faith EVER vote for McSame.
TeleShaman 3 years ago
In the unlikely event that happens I will be trying to persuade you to vote Clinton.
In a more likely scenario, when she drops out I'll make a video about the good side of Hillary, and why she's an asset in the Senate. Because we'll need to create a bond with her supporters, and because I believe it.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
I'm willing to listen to you on that Joe, because you make great arguments. BUT... I'm hoping we wont have to go there ;) I really don't think, unless something drastic happens, that Mr. Obama wont win the nomination. I have to agree with TicketKev too! Craziest. Election. Ever.

You are right. Operation Chaos will only work because the dems would never give Rush that much credit.
thegreenskies 3 years ago
I suppose that's a way of putting it :)
But I was happy to see this in last night's Obama campaign email:
"...we did much better than all the pundits predicted, despite Republicans changing parties to support Senator Clinton, believing she would be easier for Senator McCain to defeat."
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Yeah and it's true there's no way Clinton has a chance agaist Obama without republican help.
thegreenskies 3 years ago
Awesome information. Wouldn't it be odd if Rush caused a Clinton to get in the white house on accident?
