I bought an 08 impala SS and i do love the car. But after buying it i realized (Do i really need 300 plus horsepower) my SS isnt as practicle as the nitro.. Im 19 years old with a feyonce and a 6 month old son. Why do i need a really sporty vehcile? Long story short i wish i would of bought a Doge Nitro RT. More versative and practicle
That's the best looking truck on the market & U could bet your bottom $ I'd buy one of these; my only problem is with the RELIABILITY & QUALITY of DODGE in general. Have they change their policy? It's different than any other truck on the road & it's a head turner as we speak (even to this day).
There was a site called 'don'tbuydodgechryslervehicles'.com - (it may be don't or chrysler may come before dodge - try the variation please). Used to work @ a car dealer it is true, it doesn't cut it.
Why do Haters come on here to talk shit. Why waste your time if you have nothing good to say? I know 2 Nitro owners who love their cars. If you want to drive a car that looks like every other car on the road, go ahead. But stop the hating.
One shouldn't be overly concerned about superficials, but I'd have to wear a ski mask to be seen in that hideous pile. From behind it is tasteful but the front is ugly even by Chrysler standards. Consumers Reports had nothing good to say about it except for "bold styling".
@LaugermanPROductions Again, I'll stress that that is a common misconception. How do I know? (I own a 2010 Jeep Liberty Limited, and a 2009 Saab 9-3 2.0T w/ XWD. Build quality in both? Great.) In fact, the build quality in more recent Chryslers, eg. 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee (and Liberty :-)) and 2011 Dodge Durango have been excellent. As for my two faves, the Avenger and Sebring? Better soundproofing has quieted the cabin, and new interior accents instill a feeling of quality (for good reason!)
@LaugermanPROductions Sorry for the slow response. I live right down the street from a Saab dealership, and I have always liked Saab's unique personality. I also love the distinct American look and feel of all Chrysler vehicles. They are so different, but so alike. They both have spirit, class-leading technology, and safety in mind. If you love Saab, give Chrysler another look. Both Saab and Chrysler are two of the best brands out there! (Don't hate Chrysler! Give 'em another look.)
i love my dodge nitro its the best suv ever honda and toyota make small ugly uslesss cars , i had a rav4 07 it got stuck every where its very cheap but i change it for my dodge nitro 08 its the best and my avenger 08 iiiiiiilovvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeee it
i got a new 2.8 diesel 2 weeks ago and im very impressed with the car, mpg is very good for its size and the room inside is good. its a lot of car for the price you can get them at in scotland.....value for money...
I own a Nitro, with the 2.8 litre diesel engine you get here in the UK, I think it puts out 175bhp and 300lb/ft torque, which is good when you get a return of around 38-40mpg on the motorway with a light foot, relatively good economy around town, great for going over speed bumps, plenty of room for kids in the back, decent sized boot and best of all in the Uk they are dirt cheap to buy, I got mine for about the price of a mid range ford focus.
I've owned a 2008 RT for the last year and a half. I'm quiet happy with it. Like the video says, the RT upgrade kills most of the handling pitfalls of the line Nitros. At 28K I've had to have my air conditioning evaporator fan replaced. A warranted part, of course. Before this I owned two Lincoln Mark VIII's and even a Mercedes 560 SEC. I find the simplicity and trouble free nature of this car INFINITELY more tolerable than many of Detroit's or even Europe's flash.
And every other review ive seen but this one has a bunch of biased crap. sure it gets 2mpg worse than the rest of the class. no big deal. its the only base engine that will tow 5000lb with a decent off road pkg. the guy on consumer reports actually tried o make it look dificult to get into bu using the side step. and holding the top of the truck. As if anyone gets into an suv like that. and the plastics are no worse than anything else in the class. Thnx
Just test drove the new '09. just te 3.7, not the 4L. I liked the ride. The wife wont look at anything else. other options are either too small, too expensive, or too big. The rav4 has that horrid side swing door. Also, with all the options packages, you cant get anything else in the class with 4x4, auto, a/c, remote start, sun-roof, prem speakers & Mp3, tow pkg, roof rack, and nice seats for less than $35k canadian. the nirto is less than $32k.
i have the R/T and the 4.0 260 bhp engine is awesome. altho i wouldn't go as far as to say over the top =P but a capable machine she is. i haven't driven lower models but from what i have heard the 3.7 with 210 bhp is barely enough to move this 2 tone beast in a sporty manor.
and yeh i agree the rides not to good but the 4 wheel makes up for it
also anothjer thing about the nitro in louisana its ride hight helps down in louisana cause the roads are horible and before and after huricanse its good for going through and inch maybe three of water(ime not saying you should or its safe)

Dodge Nitro is a much better choice than a Toyota RAV4 or Honda CRV. The Dodge is light-years ahead in quality and style.

Whatever you do, don't sit in the rear seat on a long journey. Tried it in my friend's Nitro - Truly horrendous. Love the styling though.
