Nice video. But, stage steel ... sucks. I bought a Stage steel Wallace claymore and after just a few minuets of typical use the blade completely broke off from the base (at the guard). The steel for the blade was too thin and of poor quality for what is expected for its intended use. It was disappointing but also quite a safety hazard. When a sword catastrophically fails like that is not only dangerous for me but also for my partner/s. I would pick other brands over Stage Steel any day.
Yes indeed...they make a wonderful ring too. All the sounds you hear are from the blades, not sound effects. They are not sharp but never forget you are swinging a chunk of steal at you friend...blunt force trauma is no laughing matter.
@Alterego912 Indeed! I mean, it is still a piece of steal and you WILL go to the hospital if you don't treat it with some respect, but as long as you file them once and a while to take out burrs and dents it will not slice or tear skin. The sounds in this video are all from those swords, they ring very well and take an amazing amount of damage.
@Alterego912 If you don't take care of them and let them be all chipped up and full of metal burrs it will cut you something nasty though. I actually quit liked these swords and found the weight and balance pretty good and the sound is amazing...very nice theatrical ring to them.
I had a wonderful time choreographing and making this video for StageSteel!
Thanks to Mike Schlick for some superb editing and production on the film and to Ken Nicholas and the Boom Squad for the invitation to create this project. I look forward to making more. If only we could have captured on film, that incredible family of deer and the hawk that we 'bumped' into on that beautiful autumn morning! Thanks again, everyone.

soo, stage steel is strong enough to clash like a real sword, and yet blunt enough to not break the skin?

@Alterego912 Yep. They're great for stage combat.
