It's nice to go onto a piece of music, and NOT have some sort of comment argument going on. Shows what a spectacular community those who listen to Tchaikovsky is.
The best thing about classical music composers is that, even tho people don´t listen to their music so much these days, after hundreds of years words like Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Beethoven etc. still makes your hand squeeze into a mighty powerful fist and fills your head with respect and feeling. Things that are impossible to achieve nowdays. Fuck that, there are still people like John Williams, Hans Zimmer and other amazing composers! Symphonic orcheresta FTW! :)
It's amazing, how quickly we forget about beautiful music, such as this. We're all so clouded by guitar riffs, autotune, and whatever else is on the radio, we're all guilty of it. But, we forget the greats, the reasons we're allowed to have the music we do today. THIS, (along with other great composers) should be played in every classroom,...
@carmariebe I disagree. You don't have to choose between popular and classical music; I listen to and deeply respect both. Plus, classical music is not a dying art. We have at least 2 radio stations here that play it regularly (one for the pops, and one for the good stuff).
@EctInc I don't believe I said, anything about there not being a choice. Classical music, may not be a "dying art", but it is in a sense, esp, in our public school systems. Ask, just about any high school student, who Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Chopin, etc,... is-- hell, ask them to name one song, one piece of a song, and chances are they will have no idea. Am I calling our youth today, stupid? No. I'm simply saying, we're still capable of learning about the greats of the past.
@EctInc I dated a guy, briefly over the summer, he's an art teacher for the city school. Well, he was asked to decorate the hallways, with positive, uplifting quotes. He told me, that he was using quotes from people, such as Lil Wayne, Nikki Minaj, etc,... I asked him why not use people of history, such as Elenore Roosevelt, he said the kids have no IDEA, who they are. I was dumbfounded. Not only did he not give his students credit to learn, he sold them short the chance to learn.
Tchaikovsky always wanted and wished to be remembered for his music. He never looked for personal fame and frecuently suffered for things which he considered " Shameful" escaped from people who always wished to see him destroyed.. sorrowfully they were more than he thought and they were everywhere. Pyotr Tchaikovsky is not a composer, is not a melody creator. Tchaikovsky is the music itself, and even though he is not physically he went on being everyday in the world.
Wow. I like the melody of course, but the tempo seems a little slow maybe because i'm use to a faster piano version. However, nice piece. I don't have this one. Thanks for upload. ;)
it just seems really slow to me in fact, but i'm just use to it being a bit faster and not dragging along so much. some pieces are too slow, some are too fast. oh well.
You know how researchers say how classical music helps you think well I think when they made that claim they were listening to this

Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very tiny sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
If you click on my name “autumntree2011” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.

This sounds sorta like the theme for Schindler's List. Maybe this was a subconscious influence for John Williams when he was writing the score. o_O
At any rate, Tchaikovsky is humanity's greatest musical gift. A shame this gift is not appreciated much in this day and age.
AMetalNinja 1 year ago 100
@AMetalNinja Well, John Williams pretty much plagiarized half the music he wrote anyway, so I doubt it's a particularly "sub"conscious influence.
