  • You know how researchers say how classical music helps you think well I think when they made that claim they were listening to this

  • Peace and calm

  • wunderschön!!!

  • El es un genio hace que la tristeza y la angustia se puedan disfrutar.......

    .

  • Est ce une vraie peinture?

  • Puro genio!!!

  • That's music in absolute perfection and beauty,

Tchaikovsky is THE Genius, brilliant, touching and unique!!!

  • My name is Autumn ^^

  • @AkiRainElric Me too. =)

  • DIOS MIO ! quelle tristesse..

  • This piece it always reminds me of Tchaikovsky's last years in life.

    Russian romanticism

  • seems rather appropriate during these bitterly cold months. here in london it's subzero and it's pitch-black by 5 in the afternoon.

  • @hopelesscynic1 at least it's not sub -20 here in canada!!

  • quel sentiment de paix et de malheur fusionnés!!! magique!!!! je suis coupé du monde!!!

  • This is like the saddest thing I have ever heard.

  • up at 1:15 in the morning listening to this. perfect thing to do and let the hours dwindle away till first light.

  • mmmmmmm

  • It's nice to go onto a piece of music, and NOT have some sort of comment argument going on. Shows what a spectacular community those who listen to Tchaikovsky is.

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • you know when a song's sophisticated, when the comments and a paragraph long.

  • It wasn't until just now that I realized how many of my favorite pieces are actually by Tchaikovsky. The ending to this brings tears to my eyes.

  • ELEGANCE...AND BEAUTY

  • ELEGANCE...AND BEAUTY

  • can play that on piano :) love it ...

  • Most agreeable!

  • The best thing about classical music composers is that, even tho people don´t listen to their music so much these days, after hundreds of years words like Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Beethoven etc. still makes your hand squeeze into a mighty powerful fist and fills your head with respect and feeling. Things that are impossible to achieve nowdays. Fuck that, there are still people like John Williams, Hans Zimmer and other amazing composers! Symphonic orcheresta FTW! :)

  • @Hevieemeli88 you forgot about Clint mansell dude :) he is the most amazing modern day composer

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • I feel like i'm in a movie and all i'm hearing is this song as the autumn leaves are falling off the trees and I'm surrounded by a golden sunset.....

  • It's amazing, how quickly we forget about beautiful music, such as this. We're all so clouded by guitar riffs, autotune, and whatever else is on the radio, we're all guilty of it. But, we forget the greats, the reasons we're allowed to have the music we do today. THIS, (along with other great composers) should be played in every classroom,...

  • @carmariebe I disagree. You don't have to choose between popular and classical music; I listen to and deeply respect both. Plus, classical music is not a dying art. We have at least 2 radio stations here that play it regularly (one for the pops, and one for the good stuff).

  • @EctInc I don't believe I said, anything about there not being a choice. Classical music, may not be a "dying art", but it is in a sense, esp, in our public school systems. Ask, just about any high school student, who Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Chopin, etc,... is-- hell, ask them to name one song, one piece of a song, and chances are they will have no idea. Am I calling our youth today, stupid? No. I'm simply saying, we're still capable of learning about the greats of the past.

  • @EctInc I dated a guy, briefly over the summer, he's an art teacher for the city school. Well, he was asked to decorate the hallways, with positive, uplifting quotes. He told me, that he was using quotes from people, such as Lil Wayne, Nikki Minaj, etc,... I asked him why not use people of history, such as Elenore Roosevelt, he said the kids have no IDEA, who they are. I was dumbfounded. Not only did he not give his students credit to learn, he sold them short the chance to learn.

  • @carmariebe This was for a highschool? Well, I'll admit, that's a terrible situation.

  • Sublime...

  • Sublime.

  • Bellísimo, un regalo del Señor Tchaikovsky para el mundo. Muchas gracias :)

  • amazing piece!!!

  • makes me weep everytime :((

  • it's make me feel sad when i listen to this masterpiece, almost tears down.

  • Shame he died of cholera, maybe(probably) he would write many other master-pieces!

  • Tchaikovsky always wanted and wished to be remembered for his music. He never looked for personal fame and frecuently suffered for things which he considered " Shameful" escaped from people who always wished to see him destroyed.. sorrowfully they were more than he thought and they were everywhere. Pyotr Tchaikovsky is not a composer, is not a melody creator. Tchaikovsky is the music itself, and even though he is not physically he went on being everyday in the world.

  • @josepablo1514 nicely put, my friend.

  • Yo nigga da shit is DA SHIT

  • yeah I hear a lot of Tchaikovsky influence in John William's work. Much influential styles from Romeo and Juliet

  • Absolutely beautiful! Its a gorgeous piece :)

  • incredibly beautiful...

  • Beautiful.

  • compassion in it's best...

  • :"( so sad but incredible piece

  • GREAT SCOT !! I am crying..

  • it does more effect on me than simply bringing tears to my eyes...if it was really the last song played on titanic before it sank..then...wow!

  • nice so slow...

  • Supposedly, this was the last piece of music that the band on the Titanic played as the ship was sinking. Does anyone know if this is true?

  • @Grepple1234 Well, snopes has a piece on it, but that's all I can help.

  • This sounds sorta like the theme for Schindler's List. Maybe this was a subconscious influence for John Williams when he was writing the score. o_O

At any rate, Tchaikovsky is humanity's greatest musical gift. A shame this gift is not appreciated much in this day and age.

  • @AMetalNinja Well, John Williams pretty much plagiarized half the music he wrote anyway, so I doubt it's a particularly "sub"conscious influence.

  • @1Moregano1 Gustav Holst's The Planets suite for example...

  • @1Moregano1 Well, he may've plagiarized here and there, but he did a good job with his stolen contraband.

Star wars is john williams. (very nearly)

    long live long john williams.

  • @AMetalNinja Yes, John Williams is heavily influenced by Tchaikovsky. He said so once. Wish I could remember where and when...

  • @AMetalNinja thanks for letting me know about the theme for schindler's list I haven't seen it yet but it is on my netflex list

  • @22tashiko

Hey, it's AMetalNinja (lost my account during the Google account merge). It's a brilliant film.

  • @AMetalNinja me to!! I think this sound like the theme of Schindler's List!!!!!

  • so sad and depresing

  • very good this classic music

  • Simply great...

  • Wow. I like the melody of course, but the tempo seems a little slow maybe because i'm use to a faster piano version. However, nice piece. I don't have this one. Thanks for upload. ;)

  • its great slow like that

  • it just seems really slow to me in fact, but i'm just use to it being a bit faster and not dragging along so much. some pieces are too slow, some are too fast. oh well.
