Has anyone ever managed to wedge a Hayabusa engine into a shorter wheelbased and generally more compact frame ? With my skinny legs I prefer to ride something like my own SV1000 and don't need help to manhandle it if the need arises. A Hayabusa has about 80BHP more than my bike but it's just too much of a lump on anything but a motorway.

No car will defeat a good bike in acceleration, however no bike will win a top speed challenge. It's a matter of physics. Light weight is good to accelerate, so the bike wins. Great power and best aerodynamics for the car, so best top speed. You don't need to be a mechanical engineering like me to notice that.

guys bikes are fast but cars have 4 wheels, and have alot lower center of gravity, they can brake faster and turn sharper corners than most bikes,

HOWEVER. if you spend 12k on a new bike and 12k on a new car then:

bike will do 0-60mph in under 3 seconds, and the car 0-60 mph 10 at best, top speed, bike 180mph, car 100mph...

for a car to even compete with a motorcycle, it would have to cost 10x as much. which is why the motorcycle dream is much more accessable, avg car vs avg bike, bike win.

On track it's all about the rider. A superbike needs a professional racer to beat a 500+ hp supercar in the track. Though, if you're talking about Busa and 911 Turbo, it surely would be an interesting race to watch. I think Busa on a track with tight corners would be beaten due to its long wheelbase and weight. But this video of two ultimate racers proves the principles of Car vs Bike on track and makes non-believers to believe!

@omidool The best bike at the moment is the BMW S1000RR it will out accelerate, brake, handle and has a faster top end than the Busa and ZZR1400 was raced against a Nissan GTR, probably the best handling normal street car in the world. The bike was so much faster than the car in a straight line but once they introduced corners braking etc the Nissan blew the bike away. Pains me to say it I love bikes but cars brake quicker, handle better and get the power down. But give me the bike every time.

A twin turbo Gallardo is faster than a Veyron until 300 km, and then the Bugatti SS passes by due to higher top speed. A bike (Busa) is not safe aerodynamically at speeds more than 200 mph or 320 kmph unless you're Swedish and like suicide. Just for the record, the new BMW bike (advanced and lightweight) is faster than your Hayabusa.
