@vacuumboy69 The oil and coolant are kept near operating temeperature by electric block heaters. It's basically up to temp when it starts. Thanks for writing and watching.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TRANSFER THE POWER FROM THE POWER LINES TO GENERATOR BY A PRESS OF A SWITCH OR YU CAN DO IT AUTOMATICLY EITHER WAY DOESNT MATTER
@Ucster Hey dude, got a question for ya? What do you use this genset for? I'm possibly facing an engineering spot at a local television station, and this one might be one we're going to purchase, or a similar one. Got any suggestions?
@treybolinger This one is used to operate a water pumping station and a network of dewatering wells along 3 Interstate Highways. It has performed very well for us. Good luck with the job!
@treybolinger Are you still in the market for a diesel generator? I have a very nice, like new 1500 kW Caterpillar generator in stock right now. Its sitting at my facility in Colorado, was built in 2008 and has less than 100 hours since new.
@kennjohnsen no its a standby GENERATOR CAN USE IT YEARROUND ITS ELECTRIC NOT GAS OR DIESEL CAN RUN FOR HOW LONG WE WANT IT BY USING THE TRANSFER SWITCH PANEL BOLTED IN OUR GARAGE
@kennjohnsen moneybelt22, this is a very important point. There is a major difference between a standby generator and a constant power generator, if you try to use the latter for stanby use the crankshafts will just wear out in no time. A good back up generator will be ready to accept the base load in aprox 3 seconds which is circa 66% of full rated load
ooooooo buddy! start up is fun but throw a 100% block load on that baby and watch it barely drop the rpm. havent seen too many other gensets take that to well
The RPM makes the difference. We had a Fairbanks-Morse generator set, 1920 Kva 1600 KW generator at 720 RPM. Might make a guess which might run for the longest time without a major overhaul.
Looks like a lawnmower engine compared to the generator that we had at fruit of the loom. That thing was at least 12-16 foot high and about as wide.I have no clue as to what it was though, just it was damn loud when you passed by it.
@lapulapu12345 It starts automatically after we flip a few switches - there is a time delay before it starts so I have time to walk over and get the camera ready. Thanks for watching.
@Ucster lapulapu12345- if they're in test mode, they can take a few seconds to start, but if they're in a stand-by mode, to where power drops less than acceptable, the engine starts and compensates. a HELL of a system that a human being has thought of.
@jerjanerayo Yes, this is a 16 cylinder, 50 litre diesel unit. It produces about 1300 Bhp at 1800 rpm. The sound of this thing is something else - it causes your insides to vibrate when standing close to it.
@Ucster actually it produces around 2200 horsepower at 1800 rpm. the engine data tag on the front left on the engine gear covers might give you an exact number.
@aurick7737 There's a 2,000 kw Cummins on eBay now for $459,000.00. This 1500 unit was part of a $5,000.000.00 pump station rehab and the bid price was $225,000.00. Thanks for your comments - Ucster
Well That Generator is a 1500 kw and i dont think you need that much power for a 40 kw load, I would get a 100 kw gen so you have a good generator and you still have room to grow
I guess your comment was meant to be funny. This unit produces 1500 kW, which is 1500 x 1000 = 1,500,000 Watts. It will pretty much run whatever you can hook to it. Good luck with your garden!
data center I work at has a 2MW cummins genny in an external enclosure on top of a 10k gal fuel tank in a pit beside the building. these things are monsters.

I had a small version of that in one of my plants, a KTA38000 V-12. 1150 BHP, 750 KW. Wasn't a very good engine overall.
