  • 25 gallons an hour, talk about a fuel hog...

  • whats the hourly fuel burn at full load??

  • dose this have a warm up cycel or dose it just cranck up an go

  • @vacuumboy69 The oil and coolant are kept near operating temeperature by electric block heaters. It's basically up to temp when it starts. Thanks for writing and watching.

  • how much does it consume?

  • @rzsolt2 Depends on the load. 25 gallons per hour or so.

  • SHEER MUSIC

  • whare is this located in maine we would get fined for any stuff in the genatator room execpt the unit it self.

  • ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TRANSFER THE POWER FROM THE POWER LINES TO GENERATOR BY A PRESS OF A SWITCH OR YU CAN DO IT AUTOMATICLY EITHER WAY DOESNT MATTER

  • @Ucster Hey dude, got a question for ya? What do you use this genset for? I'm possibly facing an engineering spot at a local television station, and this one might be one we're going to purchase, or a similar one. Got any suggestions?

  • @treybolinger This one is used to operate a water pumping station and a network of dewatering wells along 3 Interstate Highways. It has performed very well for us. Good luck with the job!

  • @treybolinger You will not be let down by these gensets, we have perkins with FG Wilson alternators on them, 1mw each at 11kv

  • @treybolinger we run a 750kw cummins at our tx site, and a 500kw at the main studio site

  • @treybolinger Are you still in the market for a diesel generator? I have a very nice, like new 1500 kW Caterpillar generator in stock right now. Its sitting at my facility in Colorado, was built in 2008 and has less than 100 hours since new.

  • @KingSlimjeezy

    Call me lets talk 303-558-8404

    Eddie

  • what kind of engine is that??

  • @mrBelfegorr Cummins diesel, 50 liter V-16 with two turbochargers. Thanks for commenting.

  • @Ucster

How many hours can such a cummins do ?

  • @kennjohnsen MY DAD BOUGHT ONE FOR 12,000 DOLLARS 5 YEARS AGO HERE IN CONNECTICUT CAN POWER 4 HOME INCLUDING OURS READY FOR IRENE

  • @moneybelt22

Yes, but it's not running many hours, does it, only emergency.

  • @kennjohnsen no its a standby GENERATOR CAN USE IT YEARROUND ITS ELECTRIC NOT GAS OR DIESEL CAN RUN FOR HOW LONG WE WANT IT BY USING THE TRANSFER SWITCH PANEL BOLTED IN OUR GARAGE

  • @kennjohnsen moneybelt22, this is a very important point. There is a major difference between a standby generator and a constant power generator, if you try to use the latter for stanby use the crankshafts will just wear out in no time. A good back up generator will be ready to accept the base load in aprox 3 seconds which is circa 66% of full rated load

  • ooooooo buddy! start up is fun but throw a 100% block load on that baby and watch it barely drop the rpm. havent seen too many other gensets take that to well

  • oh that sounds so nice.

  • @fardreaming That's just diesel knock and belts winding up. No biggie, really.

  • So if you hooked this up to a WVO setup you could net $900k per year? At ..03 a gallon processed.

  • That sound that it makes when it's starting up is so... reassuring.

  • The RPM makes the difference. We had a Fairbanks-Morse generator set, 1920 Kva 1600 KW generator at 720 RPM. Might make a guess which might run for the longest time without a major overhaul.

  • Looks like a lawnmower engine compared to the generator that we had at fruit of the loom. That thing was at least 12-16 foot high and about as wide.I have no clue as to what it was though, just it was damn loud when you passed by it.

  • It would keep you warm at night!

  • @Ucster How much power does this hoss put out? Sounds and runs good.

  • @treybolinger About 1,300 bhp at 1,800 rpm. It's a 50 liter V-16 with two turbochargers. Thanks for watching.

  • i like to have one in my bed room lol

  • does someone start it up when you video it?

  • @lapulapu12345 It starts automatically after we flip a few switches - there is a time delay before it starts so I have time to walk over and get the camera ready. Thanks for watching.

  • @Ucster lapulapu12345- if they're in test mode, they can take a few seconds to start, but if they're in a stand-by mode, to where power drops less than acceptable, the engine starts and compensates. a HELL of a system that a human being has thought of.

  • That a shame you didn't put the bargraph display on the PCC2100 on that size of unit !!!

  • @85raminator cost.. i'll agree it's a shame this genset didn't get a 3201 or 3100. nice genset with a cheap control in the video...

  • I had a small version of that in one of my plants, a KTA38000 V-12. 1150 BHP, 750 KW. Wasn't a very good engine overall.

  • To put this in to perspective, this is equivalent to 750 Honda EU2000i silent generators.

  • @mpwelk Good one. I never thought of it that way.

  • 2100 control with no graph... rare, wonder why they didnt get that option

  • @OldHowlingHound I finally added a video showing the way she smokes when a load is first switched on.

  • That Generator can also power 2 hotels or 2 and a half malls.

  • Comment removed

  • in here in manila you can power a small village with that huge generator

  • @jerjanerayo Thanks for your comment, my friend. Nice to meet you here.

  • @Ucster wow. that is huge generator what is the use of that?

  • @jerjanerayo It is a backup power supply for a large pumping station. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @Ucster ilove too see your video .. so that is a diesel engine

  • @jerjanerayo Yes, this is a 16 cylinder, 50 litre diesel unit. It produces about 1300 Bhp at 1800 rpm. The sound of this thing is something else - it causes your insides to vibrate when standing close to it.

  • @Ucster actually it produces around 2200 horsepower at 1800 rpm. the engine data tag on the front left on the engine gear covers might give you an exact number.

  • @cars4me89 Thanks. I'll check that out the next time I'm out there.

  • It can Also power 2 hotels i think?

  • @jerjanerayo Can also power 2 hotels i think.

  • and i see a remote enuncuator on the wall.

  • honey make room in the garage i got something B.I.G

  • @OTAlucard You could run most of the neighborhood with this thing.

  • @Ucster oh yes of course i was just messing around this thing isn't in your garage is it

  • Haven't seen a 2100 control on something that size without a graph display in a long time. I'm guessing it's a 480 volt unit?

  • @Volstandigkeit Yes, it is 480 Volt.

  • can someone explain to me why these generators are so expensive?

  • and some lawn mowers

  • Air start....Gotta love that!

  • @remy103 its not actually and air start i dont think

  • @thefatmantalks You're correct. It's electric start.

  • @Ucster I'd sure as hell hope that it's electric start... I wouldn't want to be the one who has to rip the cord to get it to start.

  • This one was about $225,000.00

  • 225, 000 your absolutly crazy add about 2 million dollars to that. A brand new 2000kw generator is at least 1.7 million for a lower end model

  • @aurick7737 There's a 2,000 kw Cummins on eBay now for $459,000.00. This 1500 unit was part of a $5,000.000.00 pump station rehab and the bid price was $225,000.00. Thanks for your comments - Ucster

  • Yikes! 2,225,000 is an awful lot for a generator - even for this size! Maybe he was pricing it on the Zimbabwe dollar.

  • Well That Generator is a 1500 kw and i dont think you need that much power for a 40 kw load, I would get a 100 kw gen so you have a good generator and you still have room to grow

  • I guess your comment was meant to be funny. This unit produces 1500 kW, which is 1500 x 1000 = 1,500,000 Watts. It will pretty much run whatever you can hook to it. Good luck with your garden!

  • I'll do that the next time we exercise her. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Listen to that baby purr like a kitten! So smooth starting and sounding! Gotta love your Cummins Diesel Engines!

  • NICE ONE i have a 300kw i have 3 vids up of it if you want to chek it out.

  • Is the engine a KTA50? or QSK60?

  • It's the KTA50.

  • data center I work at has a 2MW cummins genny in an external enclosure on top of a 10k gal fuel tank in a pit beside the building. these things are monsters.

  • That must really be something to see.

  • @ccg711 What data centre do you work at?

I worked at PSi net in Amstel 20Mva CPS, Metromedia Schipol 3750Kva and Metromedia in Dublin 1750Kva. wish I was still there

  • @bobbj77 I'm a computer operator here in the US. I'm contracted with IBM for a private data center for my state, Texas.
