@markse4444 Here's what the quote says: "Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind." - The Prologue to Bertrand Russell's Autobiography: What I Have Lived For

Well this is just one of the all too many cases on our books of Americanism. The only way that we can fight this terrible debilitating social disease, is by informing the general public of its consequences, by showing young people that it's just not worth it. So please give generously to this address: The League for fighting the United States of America, 55 Lincoln House, Basil Street, London, SW3.
I think in 2011 military was 800bn and health 600bn (as in, insurance company subsidisation). It's strange how Social Darwinists want everything mercinarised apart from national offence. Recognising the strength of numbers and giving money for public investment (rather than to a bank for private investment or one's own personal investment), except simultaneously believing the government should only intervene in a person's life to end it.
2011 American expenditure on nuclear weaponry 30bn, projected cost of eradicating starvation throughout the world 30bn. 30000 children starved to death every day the last time I checked the stats. Here's an alternative to mutually assured destruction: scrap the nuclear weapons, send food packets to third world countries, if the government of the third world countries attacks the US, they'd be dissolved by their newly empowered people.
you rule man. thank you for ALL your vids with Chomsky. And I as an avid Chomsky reader appreciate your inputs. Its like the forewords and prefaces in Chomsky's books. Not to mention how much Chomsky material is based off of interviews.
Another great interview, but if you keep having these interviews, you should think about investing in a clip-on mic for Dr. Chomsky. The audio is a little poor.
@newsradiohead - I got one of the inexpensive ones sold at an electronic's store, and it was terrible. I see that one can spend a great deal of money on one of these, thousands even, and my camera has a decent mic attached to the front of it already. I might be able to reduce the incoming volume a bit more to make it sound better. Thought this was the best audio yet, and have someone from Australia and another in California giving me pointers. Was told my white balance was off, sound was OK.
@s0673451 - Thanks so much. Trying to make things clear so the average person can easily understand. Hoping we're moving closer and closer towards that destiny.
Rational Party: bad name--sounds like the party of Ayn Rand who, courtesy of devotee Alan Greenspan, is indirectly responsible for the dog-eat-dog financial deregulation the US enjoys today.
Any third-party has to overcome 50 years of anti-left propaganda, a big political risk given the all out culture war being waged by the extreme right-wing Christians who seem to be working for a US theocracy.
28:00 the search engines are actually atomizing users by filtering out diversity.
@0gods - I wouldn't give Ayn Rand that much power. It's tough to argue for irrationality, yet that's what we have now. We can overcome the lies, even if 50 years in the making. Recall what happened to the former Dutch Minister of Defense who was foolish enough to try to debate Noam. He ended up excusing himself and walking off the stage to a laughing audience. Forget about calling ourselves left. We're rational.
@DrKenHildebrandt Even with massive unemployment, 40-50MM uninsured, elimination of welfare for "workfare," etc., the extremely well funded right-wing is constantly screaming that the US is socialist or even communist _and_ being heard. Any suggestion of using the government to help the unemployed or working poor is labeled socialist and blasted for undercutting the role of the church in modern society.
How do you propose ordinary people overcome this massive force against rational change?
@0gods - What needs to be done is that we need to make it real to these people. People do change their minds once informed. I know one man who was such a strong Bush supporter in 2000 that he got his very own autographed photo of George and Laura, yet by 2007 he was working for former Alaskan Senator Mike Gravel's campaign, the man who read The Pentagon Papers in front of the US Senate making the lies of three presidential administrations that lead to the deaths of millions a matter of record.
@PurpleHoneyBear - Many thanks for the encouragement. When my wife Elaine and I first met Noam back in 2002 and told him about our election findings and so forth, he said upon our leaving, and we have it on film, "Terrific. You bring it to others." If enough pass it on we'll beat the media.
chomsky is the most quoted living author, and most of the quotes go something like this:
"leftist conspiracy nut noam chomsky is way off when he says: 'insane chomsky quote.'"

This is quite a good video, towards the end is the most important part so people should make sure they get through the whole thing.
Nicely done.
