  • BLASPHEMY !!! This is like putting a VW engine into a Ferrari - U JUST DONT DO IT.

Engine sounds cool but the engine swap is 100% epic fail.

  • asian ricky ponting @3:41

  • I have an S15 and I have nothing but admiration for the SR engine... Probably one of the toughest 4 cyl engines around. Still, this is a freakin SICK CAR. Great chassis of the S15 + Instant power / torque from the LS... Who could complain?

The thing that pisses me off, is people who fit 1jz and 2jz engines to their Nissans.

  • u mean close to forrest wang's shop right lol

  • my friends s13 in vegas is ls6 block but ls1 intake but i like this one

  • what car did the ls3 come out from

  • NOOOOO KEEP THE SR20!!!!

  • That LS sounds way better than a fart cannon and a weezy blow off valve.

  • Aye you were the proud owner of the purple s13 back in Hawaii. I saw you on that drift video you one back against the hachi. But didn't get to drive with the pros. Your god like with your hair now lol.

  • miss his sr20det engine :/

  • @JeepYJJunkie. Not this year he didn't. His teamate who scored higher got to race with it while he was in the charger. Umm yea, a v8 charger. Win.

  • mean drifts bro, diggin the work done on that beast sounds and looks totally wicked. Great vid btw.

  • ice / green / gold ..... boom bang! rasta

  • GO BOSO these guys where drifting before their was even a drift scene in the states.....

  • Very pro build v8 work the best for comp. And that car is probably a blast to drive. But I do also respect people that choose the underdog route a use 6 or 4 cyl.

  • Those tires didn't last long lol...AWESOME car LS3 best engine for the dollar out there.

  • Get the fartcan off a V8 and get some decent pipes. Otherwise amazing car.

  • @JeepYJJunkie. you obviously dont know the advantage of a v8 in a drift tournament. It will give you way more power taking turns. everybody has a v8. Von Gittin, Daiyoshi, Tanner foust, Sam Hub. All v8s. So watch your comments before you start calling people pussies for having a v8 swap. Dumbass

  • @mobshooter LMFAO! Hubinette uses a V10 in his Viper. And the reason everyone uses one in FD is because its US. If it was japan, you would get slapped so hard your teeth would fall out. Weight distribution is off, which means they would have done better with a 50/50, which equals the weight and gets the car to swing better.

  • @JeepYJJunkie lol, research more. I can't speak much for the LS3 but fact is LS1 swaps are pretty much the same 55/45 weight dis that most S chassis cars have. RB swaps are proven to be 57/43 and that pig motor weights almost 200lbs more than an LS1 so why waste money on shit that has worse weight dis and cost more to build? Even the KA shitbox motor weights more than an LS1 LOL! JDM tyte yo!!!

  • thumbs up if u think this guys a punk ass b!tch and should leave the mature professionals do their job than this BOSO!

  • errrr tires are gone go suk a nut u f00l

  • this is an amazing car and nice touch with the brake lights on the front windshield

  • If that was me, I would've thrown an in RB26 and not stick to the trend. Originality just isn't a part of drifting anymore.

  • @YOUNSTER007 Thank you so much for saying that. Someone who agrees with me.

  • @JeepYJJunkie No problem. I would have so much more respect for half the drivers in FD if they didn't have V8's.

  • @YOUNSTER007 Another thumbs up for you. V8s don't even sound right drifting.

  • @JeepYJJunkie Very true.

  • Didn't this car have an sr?

  • lolz

  • I miss when this car had a SR but you gotta do what it takes to fuck with the rest.

  • CLEAN!

  • Sign me the fuck up bro I want on the team put me in coach im ready to play today

  • first i was like why????

den i was like damn gotta admit tho its sick

  • GFJ Frank and Ross........

  • I love the hating. I know the hate, people don't like the V8 invasion of american drifting.

But who cares? It's Ross Fucking Petty. He's gonna do what he has to do to be competitive. A lot of you are just mad because not only does he have a better setup than you do, but he has an S15 AND a better setup than you have. Than you'll EVER have.

  • sigh.... like the car is has a great build and all I would think the old setup was better imo, ill be going to Formula d in jersey so I know itll be like last year v8s :(

  • Great job! Congratulations!

Video posted on the blog CarMovies!

  • dont get me wrong v8's sound nice but i hate that so many formula d drivers are switching to it vaghn gitten is enough one or 2 more is fine but but after s33ing a v8 in an rx7 it pissed me off someguys have companys backing them so they dont need the convinence of having a v8 they should do crazy swap's like mike essa and mad mike's quad rotor are what formula d should be about in my opinion it's becoming like nascar boring!!! and i didn't feel like spell checking keep your check comment's

  • Is this the shop in gardena?

  • ha funny how people talk shit about what the car has lol

thats the passion of cars you can add whatever you want you boring fools just stick to what everyone has.

  • Very very good job!!!!!!!

  • tough as! real engines dont need turbos to drift

  • JDM LS? Bull Fuckin Shit. And I completely don't respect doing this to a silvia. First of all i hate the colors but i can handle that, but putting a V8 in it? You just fucked up a Silvia. Thanks for wasting a perfectly fine car.

  • @JeepYJJunkie Agree !!! Stupid americans thinks V8 is best for everything You're fu***ng wrong!!!

  • @JeepYJJunkie it's not a street car....so any color scheme for a race car is game

  • @JeepYJJunkie lol@ V8 hate. Dude its lsx engine. If you know anything about them its a pretty cool swap

  • @DepthChargeZero87 Pretty cool swap? Leave the SR or go RB. V8s suck. V8s in Silvias are like tampons, every pussy needs one.

  • @JeepYJJunkie If the SR or RB had the throttle response of the v8 they would have left it in. If the v8 sucked they wouldn't have put it in the car.

  • @RiversOfGore1 No. They put a V8 in the car because they want to blend in with the rest of the Americanized shit called Formula Drift.

  • @JeepYJJunkie nah ur actualy wrong itz the other way around v8z are way better and have more torque and hp thats why everybodyz swapping to v8z sr and rbz are like tampons on ne car especialy a silvia

  • @JeepYJJunkie Your Right ;D!!

  • @JeepYJJunkie I rather have a 2jz in my s15

  • @JeepYJJunkie nice response me like

  • @JeepYJJunkie lol yeah V8s suck. that's why every winner runs one.

  • @JeepYJJunkie Yeah bc 2 or 4 more cylinders and loads more torque suck haha I'm fast and the furious with my jdm tyght SR/RB lmmfao horsepower sells..torque wins races. Keep your helmet on and I might donate to your fund for down syndrome you tokyo drift bastard

    DURRRR DURR DURRRRRHHHHH!!!

  • @grillbillieusa Cool story bro. I'm not about being JDM Tyte. I'm about keeping a engine origin within a car origin.

  • @JeepYJJunkie Here's a cool story bro =D you just tried to tell me you don't get down JDM tyte but you want to keep everything gay'd up with a japanese motor in a japanese car lmao ^^^^ Take your jeep and play bumber cars with all the acura and honda's in the road then take the insurance money and buy a pair haha JCAM FTW!!! Japanese Chassis American Motor ;)

  • @JeepYJJunkie and of all the people to bitch at, ross petty. seriously, if your gonna get pissed about a v8 swap, get pissed at tyler mcquarrie (no disrespect) cause he doesnt build his car, ASD does. i mean..fuck man, ross petty is what drift should be. he (and his company garage boso) built the car.. he is his own mechanic..not some hired corprate company whos in it just for the money. he is one of the last grass roots guys in america. seriously bro, get the fuck out

  • @JeepYJJunkie What someone does with there car is there choice, nothing is wrong with that regardless of if you don't like it or not. Whats wrong is you deliberately hooping from one LSX swap video to another spamming your unwanted hate (yeah, I've seen you...). I've already said it another video, the S chassis is a dime and dozen the FR equivalent of an Integra or some other Honda with nothing remotely special about it, otherwise people wouldn't beat them up like said Honda's.

  • @JeepYJJunkie oh, cause theres totally a shortage of rb and sr powered s15's

  • @superchargedAMG There's definitely a shortage of LS 240s too. *sarcasm*

  • @JeepYJJunkie can you inform my why one shouldnt make their car better in almost every way?

  • @superchargedAMG Just by adding a V8? Fanboy ftw.

  • @JeepYJJunkie look man, dont get me wrong, im NOT in any way shape or form a muscle car guy. but come on..formula D (love it or hate it) has proven that v8's are easiest, most reliable, and the simplest way to make high power and torque. petty even says he didnt want to go to the v8, but he couldnt stay competitive with the s. give petty props, cause he was one of the last guys running the sr20.

  • @JeepYJJunkie and lets not forget that this guy's a privateer in formula D aswell. his only major sponsor is falken tire, and thats it. the v8 has less moving parts, making him spend less of his already shabby budget. stop your bitching and be thankful you can see at least one competitive s15 in formula D

  • @JeepYJJunkie

perfect example on an angry purist. most of the ls motors are far lighter than the stock fatty sr's. weight dis remains the same as mentioned before.

  • @JeepYJJunkie I assume you have no involvement in drifting, so I'll break it down for you. Most of the guys are rebuilding these 4 or 6 cylinders every other event. That's quite a bit of money. People are dropping v8s in because of reliability, and cheaper hp and more torque. It just makes sense, in a competitive situation.

  • @JeepYJJunkie And I'm not a hater on sr's , rb's and what not. I actually have an sr hatch.

  • @JeepYJJunkie oh, what? after someone shows you the fuckin facts nothing to fuckin say? i thought so, bitch and they put the v8 in the car cause its LESS MOVING PARTS and therefore MORE RELIABLE

  • WONDERFUL

  • but ive done all the research i need to do.. and have found out.. you basically need all the underside of the car to swap legally.. motor, exhaust, emissions parts, rear end, and ecu and little stuff.. but when you buy a swap on line it usually comes with everything you need except for mounts.. but basically this is a legal road swap if it were in s13/s14 but s15 wasn't made here..so this isn't..

  • i have a SR20DET powered 240sx.. here in nor cal.. it was street legal.. but done illegally when i bought it.. and got pulled over 4 days later by hwy patrol.. he didn't know much about cars but he knew all the chrome piping was illegal.. reason being illegal cuz had no CARB sticker on intake or piping.. so if you have the right stickers on your shit its legal to there eyes.. but now i have to referee my car to ever drive it street legal again..

  • and who said u cant smoke weed and still drive good...

  • @ddavid993 bhahahah

  • Comment removed

  • @NemSSCamaro any fool.. can pass a piss test..... LOL

  • Sounds sweet!

  • something tells me that drifting isnt the only thing that these guys make smoke with.

  • "It just sits, like 'werrrrrrrrrrrr!'" Ross is gonna kill 'em this year.

  • Ross Petty is gonna be a top contender this year for sure...I've been waiting a long time for the Rasta S15 to do damage. I mean, yeah the whole "everybody drives V8" is pretty retarded, but I've got nothing against switching if you have the skills to back up the power increase. Just look at the way he whips that thing around, he's doin' it with one hand!!!

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!

  • GET NUTZ

  • fuckin nuts! Love the windshield break LEDs

Wish I could experience it first hand!

  • killing the culture one ls at a time

    <3

  • nice sound engine

  • noo why are people fucking up all those nice cars just stick with jap engines in jap cars if you want a v6 or v8 buy a nissan v6 or v8 i mean i know a ls v8 is cheaper but come stick with your roots man xD you dont see alot of people put an sr20 is a 3 series orso

  • @tuned4life Car's are like women. Some of the best in the world are mutt's. Besides, that thing is now street legal since it's the engine that keeps them from being imported.

  • @chaff5 if i get it correct what you just said is that if the sr20 was in it wasnt steet legal ?? yeah i dont realy know how the whole things work in usa to keep a car street legal

  • @tuned4life There are a lot of factors that keep cars off the road. Emissions and safety are the biggest ones. The LS3 is already an American made engine so that's not a problem (with proper exhaust that is.) The head lights might be too low and the RH dash might be a problem too but I'm not 100% sure on that.

  • @chaff5 ok but dont you think its a bit weird for example they dont have a problem with those heavy 6 + liter v8 those old muscle cars that weights around 2000 kg but you cant import a gtr r34 with a 2.6 liter inline 6 that weights around 1600 kg and i bet the gtr r34 is better of a saftey test then for example a old dodge charger

  • @chaff5 in order for a car to be street legal with a swap. The motor will have to be at least the same year or new than the car and the OBD diagnostics will generally have to be changed to match the motor. this particular car is not street legal. it's a race car with tube frames and it's right hand drive. An SR20 is legal in the states since it came from the Nissan Sentra SE-Rs, 200sx SE-R and Inifiniti G-20s. But SR20Dets are not legal. Im sure they used an LS3 motor because of torque

  • @spooncvc Ah I see. I didn't know it was that complicated but thanks for the info.

  • @tuned4life hahaha they're street legal in Japan, Australia, Dubai <bad example horse and cart with a LS7 would be street legal

how are things going to change for the US :/ funny laws

  • @MadazRx8 yeah because its weird you can just engine swap and everthing where i live and stuff and i think it still would be street legal :P

  • @MadazRx8 And legal in the UK too!

There's a handful of Chev LS powered S15's and S14's here in England.

  • @tuned4life The overhead cams on those engines make them too tall. It's the reason GM still makes pushrod V8, they're very compact. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  • formula d, powered by LS engines

  • hks oil cap on lsx is dope.

  • i heard this at my house... lol
