  • The pain of the cross is the pain of sacrifice, renunciation; understanding that we take up our cross with Christ as we release attachment to the everything but God. This is the vulnerability that allows love. It sounds brutal and has been misunderstood and used as a means of self torture in spirituality, but the sweet pain of surrender of ego is the pain of birth into unimaginable freedom and bliss. Thank you Fr. Rohr.

  • I am NOT religious in any manner but you don't have to LOVE Jesus to be a caring, compassionate person. His insight is valuable for all religions.

  • how would one go about being a "death watcher" im a very compassionate person and think it would be good to help some one in a time of need.. i just like to help people and dont know why.

  • Vunerability is part of it. I like what he said about that.

  • More adults need to be taught Christianity by people like Fr. Rohr

  • he's a heretical author and speaker. Pro homo, pro women ordination (can't happen)

  • @MsCampobasso Pro Homo???? And WHY can't women ordination hap'n?

  • @MsCampobasso oh...how are those things heretical ma'am?

  • @jhgosnell Evidently you know nothing of the True faith or you wouldn't ask such a question.

  • @MsCampobasso Haha you don't get it.

  • I was able to see Richard Rohr speak at an all day seminar. After years of religious reading, I believe this man understands Jesus.

  • @RBrenizer He might understand the teachings of Jesus, but it sort of seems like he rarely talks about Jesus directly? He seems to like the concepts provided by Jesus, but may not actually love Jesus? He loves the idea that you wouldn't have any idea what "religion" a person is. I have only just discovered Richard Rohr and I don't know and can't judge his heart, but it just seems like something is a bit off to me.

  • @ElPupitre he talks about Jesus quite often it seems to me...try these other videos posted. coming from Zen and now also studying Christ I relate very well to his stuff.

  • Memorable.

  • Rohr is one of the great spokesmen for real Christianity today, and here you can see why.

  • Very important truth being presented here for sure - but I think I would try to share the Gospel in 60 seconds or less.

  • Vulnerability...very wise words. From a Hospice Social Worker's POV, this is it...exactly! Be willing to let others provide positive influence but also know who you really are.
