  • whats the song?

  • Check the top of the video description. ;)

  • nice last of the quality shit there just dont overdrive those speakers like alot of these dumbasses on here do. its awesome to see people who are actually valuing thier equipment:) just bc its older does not mean its junk stuff was expensive even in the 80s ALOT better quality than this made in china stuff coming over nowadays.

  • Don't worry; I take excellent care of all my stuff. You really can't buy quality audio equipment anymore, so I cherish what I still have. :)

  • @SpeakerPolice mordaunt short mezzo's are nice think i would prefer them over these but i am listening through a cam mic so can't tell

  • Not in the same category. Those are much more expensive. But these do extremely well for what they are!

  • @SpeakerPolice i never really compared price's i know what i payed for he mezzo 8's and 2's but i have not really seen these on the market....

  • These speakers are well over 20 years old. They sold with a system; in 1986, if you wanted to buy just the speakers, they'd probably run you about $450 for the pair.

  • @SpeakerPolice oh right ruffly what £375 over here soo you could buy a pair of kef's for that over here even some what was it 120's i think

  • That sounds about right.

  • Sounds like cotton eyed joe...lame

  • I don't get it.

  • hey man, i have a yamaha p 28 turntable, natural sound stereo receiver r3, (im not sure if it goes with it) a denon dcd 600 and 2 db plus speakers.

do you know how to set that all up, if its possible?

  • Nice setup! Patch cables are your friend. :3 I have that same turntable; it's great!

  • Comment removed

  • This one cost me nothing, as it was inherited. xD Though, the average retail adds up to about $700. The volume in this video was close to halfway up.

  • I got some moar stuff!!! Sansui SP200's, Smaller Advents, Car stereo stuff, Pioneer CS-G300W's, Some various woofers/mids/tweets, now I just need more recievers/amps. =D

  • Nice!! I just scored a Pioneer SX-636 and a pair of Realistic Minimus 7s. 8D

  • @SpeakerPolice Man everyone seems to find those Minimus 7's. XD

  • And now it's finally my turn. xD

  • @SpeakerPolice I still need a pair lol

  • Patience, Padawan. They will come. xD *tries to avoid rubbing it in by mentioning the Marantz 2230 I got today from the thrift store* xD

  • @SpeakerPolice Awww All I find is BPC at thrift stores. :( XD

  • Patience will pay off, trust me. It finally has started paying off for me. xD

  • @SpeakerPolice I've waited so lonnng. lol

  • Just a little while longer...

    BAM! Pioneer SX-1980!

    I wish. xD

  • @SpeakerPolice I have found a few decent recievers but the thrift stores want an arm and aleg for them and the got buttons missing or the volume knowb is gone or something.

  • I have also dealt with that, unfortunately. D:

  • @SpeakerPolice Thier was one with the cord gone and the thing was smashed...they wanted $15 for it.

  • Smashed? O.o

  • @SpeakerPolice It was pretty beat up.

  • Interesting, I'd have loved to see it! Was it a well-known receiver? I wonder if it was functional.

  • @SpeakerPolice It was a Fisher Apartment Sudio Standard....er....excuse me...Fisher Studio Standard. :D

  • Ahhh! The Studio Standard line! Looks okay, works okay...for a while. xD All Studio Standard stuff I've owned has developed problems. Amps blow power fuses constantly. xD

  • @SpeakerPolice Try a sony. They go into protect and dont come out. lol

  • Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. xD

  • will look better if you learn to clean your room!!

  • That was uncalled for. Video was shot during a major house rearrangement and renovation.

  • thats koo mr police check mine out i get tickets for cuz my shyt is too loud check it out

  • Nice start! You need some older stuff, and some more power to those subs. ;)

  • think the thumbs down came from the music

  • LOL possibly.

  • one word beast !!!!

  • Thanks! ^^

  • @SpeakerPolice

id do anything to have it :)

  • Thanks! ^^

  • I miss those rack system stereo's. I don't like the new mini stereo's that are out now. The rack system's were better looking in my opinion. Does anyone know where to buy them anymore? I've seen a few cabinets to buy, but they were crappy looking.

  • Not only better looking, but also far more powerful and better-sounding. It is very rare to find something these days resembling a 1970's or 1980's rack system. The last ones that were true rack systems were made in the early to mid 1990's. (I've seen a couple with the RCA brand name on them from 1996.)

  • Hey Guys beware of your eardrum. Everything can happen in this world. If u are agree with me use these things in limited volume otherwise u would be having a headphone like me on ur ear (to hear louder a device is used) for all the time. Thumbs up if u like this statement.

  • I would never listen to music loud enough to damage my ears. (Willingly, at least. xD)

  • LOLOLOL...it IS my job...I own the shop. You might as well stop while you are ahead...

  • @SMERGHEED What are you talking about``???

  • is those 10 inch

  • The woofers are 12 inches.

  • if you want more bass buy eltax speakers

  • I'm good with my Yamahas. xD

  • @joku295 Eltax? Lolz! Try Cerwin Vega.

  • they could of put a red ring round the medium woofers it would of looked better nice system :)

  • There actually ARE red rings around the midranges, though one of them got torn off (the right side, I believe.)

  • Vintage equipment was always the best. I dont even buy "new" stuff anymore. I go find vintage for a cheap price, and it last longer than the newer more expensive items. Awesome system! Great quality that is:)

  • Thank you, and I totally agree, lots of stuff I have comes from thrift stores, or even the trash xD

  • maybe clean up a bit before making a video..

  • This was shortly after major renovation, and lots of things were dumped into my room to get them out of the way.

  • what kind of speakers are those i have the same ones but there blown and i want to fix them thanx

  • They are Yamaha NS-A100's. Built around 1986, and not common at all. Consider yourself lucky to own a pair! Original replacement drivers are hard to find, though, try eBay.

  • its always the old sound systems that are best :D i got one from 1995

  • You're right, quality has gone down recently with most stuff.

  • @N00B283 actually the ones between 1970-1989~ are the best, and the ones today that are better begin at 1000$ a unit (search for Klipsch)

  • @Xzun009 thanks becaus my sound system just broke down yesterday

  • Wow, that's highly ironic. xD

  • @SpeakerPolice why??

  • I just thought it was ironic that we were discussing the quality of systems built around that time. What exactly happened to yours? It might be repairable.

  • @SpeakerPolice i know its only a little chip that is burned off

  • Hmm, might be hard to find a replacement.

  • @SpeakerPolice i know

  • Damn you have a nice setup, m8 :)

  • Thank you very much 8D

  • NICE recivers and equalizers bro

  • Thankya kindly! =)

  • i think that you are wasting your speakers with this music.

if u got woofers.. Use them to bring the BASS..

  • I'm not quite sure what you mean. These woofers are good down to about 40 Hz, which is as low as I need them to go. My subwoofer takes over below that.

  • the only thing really wrong with them was i had to fix the dust cap with a little glue but other then that a free pair of fisher 15's 3way ..im not complaining lol

  • Both dustcaps on mine are long gone, and someone threw something at one woofer, tearing it in three places. They still play fantastic, though. My next project is to fix that woofer cone and order new dustcaps.

  • found a pair of fisher stv-690's in the garbage the boxes were dry rotted so im keeping the subs...to bad there only 15's at only 150wmax :(

  • I got my STV-430's from the garbage, too. Damn good bass for a lower-end speaker!

  • Old school is awesome. I had a pair of yamaha speakers almost identical, they were incredible. They were worth 400 dollars to a friend of mine, and I still miss them despite that.

  • Wow, nice! Do you remember what model they were?

  • I would agree. xD

  • Dude I am pissed my cat pissed all over one of my Beckers...I was able to clean it so it's no biggie.

  • Oh no! Glad you were able to clean it, though!

  • Still smelled cat uriny, so I sprayed it down with Osto Zyme. Worked like a charm. No smell.

  • Never heard of that stuff, hmm. I wish I knew how to get dried cat urine out of grille cloth, I'm working on some JBL J900's for a friend.

  • Did you try washing them with hot water and detergent? That might work, then dry em of and fabreeze them.

  • I have not, but I will now, thanks!

  • Blew 2 of my alinco speakers on accident....Oops, they can't handle power very well. Guess the efficiency makes up for it.

  • Tried posting a response four times and Youtube blocked it. Ah well, just trying to say be more careful! XD

  • Yeah....XD I had blown alot of speakers in the last year, guess I've been unlucky lately...

  • I blew a tweeter in a Pioneer shelf speaker a few months ago...that pissed me off. XD

  • How old was it?

  • Not old, probably mid-90's. Still was a decent speaker, though.

  • Do you still have it? Whats the model #?

  • Yes, I've kept it, the woofer is good. It's very small, the woofer is a 5-incher, I think. I cannot recall the model number off the top of my head, although i want to say something like S-J11. XD

  • IDK 5 inch and woofer don't go to gether well. XD But hey atleast it is good. =D

  • Yeah, I bet it would work well as a fullrange. =)

  • It would probobly be beter as a mid. I don't think it would have the capabilities of a FR. =)

  • I dunno...my Atlas Soundolier 4-inch fullrange will go to 40 hertz (cycles) with a passive radiator in the same cabinet. =O

  • Nice! I have some small woofers that can shake my china hutch.

  • How small? Sounds cool. xD

  • 4 inch. Then agian, it would not suprize me if that china hutch suddenly colapsed. XD

  • LOL xD

  • Fisher sucks.I have a set of fisher 15s.and there blowed up.

  • It all depends on how you treat them. Woofer surround deterioration is a common problem.

My 1972 Fisher receiver is still going strong.

  • Oh, sorry. i 4got.. i said, i want lesson that music. do it again. my woofer loud and clear. HAHA... NICE! GIVE me SOME HARD MUSIC! Sent it to me....... how fast u can...

  • I wish! My stereo is currently all taken apart because we are painting my room. DX

  • Lol... i think u should clean ur room first.

  • Oh, bilik beserak kamah amai... wofer cun tp bilik xcun. ndai guna2...

  • Do you have that in English? =)

  • Deine anlage gefällt mir ich finde die voll cool yamaha ist einfach geil

  • Danke! =)

  • Are you fimiliar with LXI by Fisher stuff?

  • I am familiar with LXI, but all the stuff I have was made for Sears, not Fisher.

  • Fisher made the ones I have. They were sold through sears. They sound good for a In-house brand.

  • Mine must not be made by Fisher. The sound quality is decent, but they're generally built like a POS. XD I DO have a Fisher-built receiver that was designed for Sears, made in the early 70's. Nice piece of equipment, but unfortunately, it has a blown output transistor. =(

  • What does the speaker look like?

Man that sucks about the reciever. =(

  • it barey moves

  • My woofers? Oh trust me, they move. The camera just doesn't show it well.

  • does that have a sub port? on the back of it?

  • The NS-W1? The port is inside the mesh screen that is visible on the front.

  • This video sounds really nice with my sub. XD

  • good :) nice

  • Thanks =)

  • Nice ;) 5 + fav.

  • Thank you =)

  • I have a problem with my R-7 the Phono led is always on but like half power not totally on and i can hear only the 2 speakers rigth or left i dont remember exactly, in check and push all other bottoms and still, any ideas?

I love my R-7 is sooo good.

  • I have a similar problem, but on mine, the sound will just randomly cut off and half of the tuner display will go off. If you turn the volume up, you can hear the sound, but it is much quieter and distorted. The only fix I have found (without opening it up!) is to just wait, and it will come back on. The wait time varies, though.

  • I just scored some vintage Pioneer CS-C9000's in wich a 3 year old trashed the drivers, so I got some free boxes XD.

  • That sucks about the drivers. I can't stand kids who do that. Are any of the drivers operable at all?

  • Oh well. Atleast they wouldn't be to hard to replace. The tweeters wer and one woofer was but I put out of thier misery.

Atleast I got many sorces for new drivers. IE Parts Express, Best buy, flea markets, ect.

  • I see. I have never seen the C9000's before, what do they look like?

  • Well, the pair I have got 12 inch woofers, 5 inch midranges, and 2 inch tweeters. The drivers each have a decrative plastic peice covering the face plate, and they have the standard layout, like your speakers, and a port off to the side.

  • Ah, so probably not that far off from the CS-F7001. (I have one speaker, I slapped a paper ring on the woofer for a surround!)

  • Ya know?? I wish I thought of a paper ring...Advent speakers... Well, finlally almost got them fixed, exept one woofers spiders are coming undone, that can be easily fixed. One rubber surround and one poly foam one. XD Both from 10 inch woofers I took apart.

  • LOL, I replied to the wrong comment. Look above for the reply. XD

  • LOL, it still sounds like hell, but it's not as bad as if I left it untouched! XD What I think needs to happen is more manufacturers providing replacement rubber surrounds, so you can replace your old foam ones with rubber. They'll definitely last longer.

  • Yes that REALLY needs to happen. I hate foam becuase after replacing it it will just rott again, I got some woofers that are just a few years old and they are begining to rot off the cone. Advent speakers are abitch to re foam. I had to re-attatch the spider back on one of them. ]=(

  • Really? My Baby Advents were cake to re-foam, they even stayed centered all by themselves. XD

  • Mine wer retarded. Dumb woofer....

  • LOL. XD

  • When I played them for the first time, I didnt think they wer that good untill I stood back about 10 feet. Wich tells me they would be happy in a large ass room.

  • Yes, definitely. Advents like LARGE rooms. XD

  • I'de like to find a couple more pairs. Advents and other 70's solid wood speakers are the only ones I truely like. LSP-9200's are OK but the advents would smoke them.

  • It's hard to find a bad speaker made in the 70's. XD I'd still love to have a pair of those 9200's one day, though. ;)

  • Just look in your nearest aparment's dumpsters. XD the Kenny's are nice though.

  • You know, I could swear that's how the only other person I know that has a pair, found theirs... XD

  • Well get off your ass and find some already!!! XD

  • I've never, ever seen a pair in person. How tall are they, anyway? XD

  • Thier rughly 4 feet tall. XD

  • Nice!

  • Thanks!

I also made a small pair of book shelfs using a 4 inch midwoofer and a generic 1 inch tweeter.

  • OOC, what did you use for the cabinets?

  • Spare mystery wood and MDF I had lying around.

  • Nice. XD

  • They sound Ok, just OK, the cabinets need calking done, and I am thinking of porting them, as for the bass is rather lack luster.

  • I'd be careful about opening up sealed cabinets. Some acoustic-suspension systems use the sealed air as the suspension for the woofer; without that 'cushion' behind the cone, some woofers will bottom out or, at worst, unseat themselves from the polepiece. :O

  • I see. But, what if you use a pair of Advent woofers as subs? That woud be sick.

  • If they're in the type of enclosure they were designed for (i.e. sealed or ported) then yes, that would be awesome. =D

  • I took out one tweet to do repairs on and the bass was killer. =O

  • Impromptu port. XD

  • It's the deluxe speaker, transforms from a speaker to subwoofer with the removal of 4 screws. Haha XD

  • You should market that. XD

  • I should. It's even inflatable, too. Lulz....

    The ADVENT 2.0.

  • Ha, there's an inflatable speaker on eBay right now, an advertisement for Keystone Light beer. XD

  • I found a pair of Yorx speakers today with a hole for a port, cheap 6 inch woofers. and tweeters that probobly have bigger VC's than the woofers. I already took one apart. XD

  • Interesting. Paper surrounds on the woofers? XD

  • Yes, the backs of the boxes are so thin they vibrate w/the woofers. HahahahahaXD
