  • it takes years soemtimes for empty nose syndrome to appear your not out of the woods

  • Hey everyone thanks for all the questions and responses it has been 2.5 years since my surgery and I have no regrets I still feel good and my headaches and constant stuffy nose have not returned and I have not used any Nasonex or Zyrtek!!!!

  • ENT DOCTORS ARE THE SICKEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD DO NOT LET THOSE SAVAGES DO A TURBINATE REDUCTION

  • U SHOULD NEVER GET THIS DONE MANY PEOPLE GOT EMPTY NOSE SYNDROME FROM THIS SURGERY THE SICK IN THE HEAD DOCTORS DONT GIVE A SHIT THEY JUST CARE FOR THE MONEY WARNNING DO NOT GET THIS DONE YEARS LATER U CAN GET EMPTY NOSE SYNDROME

  • lol i had the same thing done this past monday and as im watching this, im still wearing the bandage thing not soo much for the blood but the ncontrolable boogers lol

  • i'm havin my Turbinate Reduction and Septoplasty Surgery tomorrow, very scared.

    thanks for this video.

  • im so scared im getting this done on 3/16/10 and im only 15! im also getting my tonsils and adenoids removed at the same time, so ill be spending my spring break recovering :(. how bad does it hurt?

  • I had it all done too...deviated septum corection and a bone spur removal and Turbinate reduction.....all webt great for me and its been 3 weeks now and feeling great.....no empy nose syndrom...which only at risk if you have a turbinate complete removal...talk to your doc and ask questions

  • Thanks! It's the morning after my surgery (I had my surgery last night) and so far there isn't any pain. It's a lot easier then what I thought

  • I'm 15 and I'm having the Turbinate Reduction surgery tomorrow!

  • You'll be fine it's not that bad. And if you do feel bad it will be over before you know it. Make sure you have carmex or some form of lip balm because you can only breath through your mouth which will be very dry. Also get a few flex drinking straws because you won't want to tip your head back to drink anything. Good luck let me know how it goes : )

  • i had a septoplasty done along with turbinate reduction and some extra cartilage shaved down friday. its pretty much exactly how she describes it, the first night you wake up a lot. and a little sore throat, but its not as bad as getting the tonsils out or anything as long as you got pain meds. I also had lots of bleeding the first day of surgery, but it slows down the second day, and overall, so far, its not that bad. i still have yet to get my splints out.

  • hi..thank you for your help.

i would like to ask a quick question.

i had my septoplasty 3 days ago..packing is all removed, however i still have discharge coming out of my nose and alot of muscus and i still cant breath through my nose cus am feeling so stuffed in my nose. when did you start breathing fully after the operation?

    Thank You

  • had the surgery yesterday! everythings gone well so far, I didnt have to have the packing in my nostrils, which was a relief - and the codeine/paracetomol mix is keeping the pain away. the main symptom at the moment is just having a comepletely blocked nose, which isnt very comfortable,..

  • thanks for posting your videos :-) i have the septoplasty in three days, I wasnt going to look for much info on it as to not worry myself, however your experience seemed to be reasonbly trouble free, I hope mine will be the same,

if you dont mind me asking, are you pleased with the results ?

    Thanks!

  • Don't worry! I am very pleased. Make sure you look up Empty Nose Syndrome, this is the worst that can happen but hopefully your doctor has already talked to you about this. I breathe so much better, my husband had to make sure i was still breathing during my sleep because my breathing had gotten sooooo quiet after surgery. Make sure you get some carmex, neosporen, q-tips, bendable straws, and throat soothing halls. Good Luck! Feel free to ask me any questions : )

  • did you see my other video where i had to remove my nasal packing? that was probably the worst of all.

  • yeah that didnt look to pleasent,.. all in all though im quite excited for it because of the results, i havnt been able to breathe through my nose now for over 4 years now, it reduces your quality of life significantly.

thanks for the tips on what to get also, especially needing the throat soothers, i will let you know how it all went :-)

  • i was very glad that my doctor instructed me to remove the packing myself instead of him doing it. i would suggest you remove it yourself because i can't imagine him yanking that out of my nose. please let me know how it goes for you. this was actually an easy process.

  • yeah it would seem alot easier doing it myself as im sure I would be able to take alot more time, how long after the op did you have to wait to take them out?

i probally would of had the operation by the time you get to reply :) .....

  • i got the surgery on friday and i took the packing out on sunday.

  • keep taking your pain meds and antibiotics because i stopped taking my pains meds with all the addiction out there, my paranoia made me think i could get addicted so i stopped taking it big mistake for me, i was in PAIN! You are going to feel great, nobody told me that breathing through my nose with my mouth closed could be so great!!!
