  • I starting to learn how to do this to my own,, and my friends nails,, this video was really helpful.... is there anything I need to watch out for,, or anything else I need to know?:) Thanks soo Much

  • @cuttie20079651 There's always lots that can go wrong!! Try to follow my tips, and use a primer!!!!!!!!

  • I bought all the items from Ebay and Sally's but I did not do my nails yet bc I'm still praticing on the pratice finger. I purchased gels too! My drill and lamp does the same thing. I'm glad it's not just my items acting crazy. Thanks for the great video!

  • @mattiesmith1 That's weird, I hope you're able to get them to work! Good luck, just practice and practice some more!! (:

  • this is such a good video, you have alot of good products real professional set up. Sallys is what I had missed so much being out of the US and beauty services are too expensive. thank you so much.

  • @CHERRYDOLLIPOP1 Thank you so very much, that was a very sweet comment!

  • Thank you so much for this video!!

I always do my nails at a nail salon but it cost a lot here in the netherlands. I think i can do it self

at home so my question is; Could you make a list of al the products you used,i don't care if it's expensive, just if it is from good kwality? If you think other products are better please let me know?

Anyways thank you so much for explaning everything so good

  • @sweety07lady Thank you for your question, I hope to make a video on the basic supplies very soon!

  • Them blue tips are looking really good...im changing my mind about colored tips =)

  • @RycanDyme87 LOL, thank you!

  • this video is soo perfect, not to mention witty with the sarcasm. lol

cant wait to try this on my own 2morro!

    thanks.

also, can i skip the file boards and just switch the tips on the drill because mine came with 4 different tips.

  • @NiyaNiyax3 Thanks so much! I'm nothing if not sarcastic!! LOL! You can definitely just switch out your drill bits/bands!!

  • Hey can u use the monomer to remove acrylic.?

  • @MissShery27 Like to soak them off, no way!!!!!!! You really don't want your fingers exposed to the monomer for too long, acrylic can cause the most damage when it is in the wet phase. You can use 100% acetone to soak off.

  • Love this video! We dont have a sallys around here (it went out of business, like everything), but I looked up that sally nail primer on ebay. It was over 10 dollars, other stuff is like 2 dollars. Does it make a difference? Would you say it's worth 10? Also, when you do your own nails like this, how long do they last? The reason I was willing to pay so much to have mine does is because they last so long..but im cheap and want to teach myself how to do them ^_^

  • @mydeadsea They last just as long if you apply them correctly. Any good primer is going to cost between $5 to $15. There are many, many, many out there. The No Lifts Nail primer is just one of them. Any primer should help with lifting, that's what a primer is for.

  • I do my own nails at home too. It's something I just recently started and really like. I noticed you mentioned about the primer and the nail lifting. I just did my nails about 5 days ago and the arcrylic is lifting already. It is because of the primer?? help!! lol

  • @downDyerRoad That could be for any number of reasons, but the primer is an important part to keep the nails from lifting!! Try using one next time, if you hadn't.

  • This video was very helpful... but I have one question... when you do the acrylic do I do it on my whole nail and is there certain nails that you have found that work best for you, how do you make the nails so thick looking?

  • @tikitents Not sure what you're asking, but yes, the acrylic covers the nail bed all the way to the tip.

  • I dont have the nail dehydrator.. is that a problem? or can i live without it for now??

  • @bookworm0110 It's an extra step, not completely necessary. You can also use alcohol for now!!

Jaja!

  • Hi. Thanks for this video. This might seem like a silly question but , how do you protect your freshly done manicure from the regular cleaning, dishwashing, bathroom cleaning etc? I like manicures but i usually mess them up so quickly, it then seems like i wasted my money.what are your tips or anyone who reads this. thanks.

  • @tanville99 I just wear gloves. I also us a uv top coat. It doesn't peel like a regular polish top coat does.

  • how much did you pay for the file on ebay? Oh nice job

  • @beautyescalated Thank you. The pink file came in a kit, so can't really put a price on it. The better file was like $40.

  • i love these nails! this helped me so much! thank u! :)

  • @sophielouisec123 That's awesome, thanks!!

  • so this video was awesome but just a question after I do my nails at home they seem to lift after a day or 2 and they just pop off whats the best solution to keep it on longer?

  • @mixedbabyy1 I've heard people say that, it's never happened to me. I would say to make sure that you buff the nail to make it ready to have the acrylic placed on it, dehydrate with a nail dehydrator (or use alcohol), and use a primer! That should do it! I hope that helps. The primer is what helps the acrylic adhere to your nail.

  • @vianneylu1 thanks! I actually just went out and bought the same dehydrator that you used in the video so I'm giving it another shot one girl at sallys said sometimes I might just have too much oil on my fingers

  • @mixedbabyy1 Yep! That'll do it!

  • I absoulely love how humble you are, you arent on here going "my ways the best", humble people are the ones who get the most postive response, even if it takes time.

    Good Job

  • @jostiesman That's very sweet, thank you!

  • i can never find tips that fit

  • question: why is the nail primer useful anyways? i also seen it at sallys and i had no clue why is it good to use?

  • @wilDavb It helps create a surface that the acrylic is attracted to, and you get less lifting.

  • the only tutorials I have seen on here are for french tips but what about designs on nails? Sorry I am new

  • @backpacc I don't do a lot of painted designs on my acrylics, but there are some ladies who do. Just look up "acrylic nail design."

  • . You Did Good But , The Acrylic Supposed To Be More Like A Ball On The Tip , Not Almost On The Upper Body ! But Beatuiful Nails :) !

  • @ajanit90 Thanks for the advice!

  • @vianneylu1 No Porblem , Next Time Can You Do A Tutoral On The Clear Tips And Clear Acrylic ?

  • OMG its just so much easier to get it done. i pay 35 dollars (australian) - stuff doing it on your own. waste of trouble.

  • @loyalqueen It's just a hobby, and now I know how to do all kinds of crazy designs that would cost much more than 35 australian dollars!! (:

  • help! When I put my acrylic on it never goes on smooth. It always come out lumpy and weird and I can't file it away :( suggestions?

  • @amandaejohnson It sounds like you are getting it too wet, the acrylic isn't the best quality, or the brush is getting gummy and won't apply the acrylic nicely. Try getting a drier ball, and wiping your brush off after applying each bead of acrylic. I hope that helps.

  • Thank you for posting up this video! I am learning how to do my own acrylics and your video is thorough & so clear! Just what I need. Unfortunately, we don't have a 'Sallys' store here in NZ, but I did find a beauty supply store and I can't wait for my order to come in! I will be watching your video as I start learning! Thank you again! :-)

  • @17banger Great! Thank you!!!

  • how much was the brush because i use a one dollar one and it works pretty good

  • @beautyheart571500 That's awesome! I think the Beauty Secrets brushes run $12-$18. My SIL is a nail tech, and she says if you're good, you can get any brush to work!! (:

  • To be a non-prof you did a goood job.

  • @MakeupByLadyJae Thank you, that's very kind!

  • Thankyou! that helped alot but how long do they stay on for?

  • @beautybabe246 People usually keep them on for 2 weeks before filling them or soaking tehm off.

  • No thank you for all your videos :) there great

  • Do you have the link to the uv lamp?? Thank you!! Oh and is it 9w??

  • @ana17antonio It is a 9watt, and works great! I bought it so long ago I don't have the link, sorry.

  • I love all your videos i have seen every single one of then and your the reason why i decided to try and become a nail technician on my own lol i already ordered my things on ebay and went to sallys. Your so helpfull

  • @ana17antonio That is so awesome! Wow, thank you!!!

  • Your ring is so Beautiful!

  • @Caileigh308 Thank you so much, that's very sweet!

  • Wow thanks so much for the great info! I stumbled across your how to video this weekend, and was so excited to try it myself that I placed my first EBay supply order this morning! Keep the product reviews coming!!

  • @ellismum1 LOL! Thank you so much, I have lots more videos out there and many more on the way!!

  • Ikr im lik OMG its sooooo cute on her then i cudnt find it anymore

  • @mike36094869 Thanks!

  • nice tips. but there is some techniques that you did wrong like on how you apply the acrylic to the nail. You never brush it, you pat it down that way it prevents bubbles forming. (I am a Cosmetologist) if you were wondering

  • @Crazycali1 Thank you! I've been thinking about re-doing this video with a few more tips that I've learned along the way, but haven't!! Thanks, again!

  • oh my goodness! so glad I subscribed to u!! i've been looking for this vid for months! if u watch my "nail supply n review" videos I mentioned "a girl that did blue tips n they were so pretty on her I had to get them for myself" lol ur that girl! u r 1 of the main reasons I started doing nails and def the main reason I put in my first supply order! this video was helpful beyond words! Thank u so much hun!! XoxoxoxoX

  • @Loko4Lucas LOL, well, I really appreciate that!!! (: You are so welcome!

  • Vianney, I am a professional and i have learned things from you. You do an awesome job with no training and don't let any one say you don't. Professionals don't want people to learn how to do there own because they might lose business. You keep doing the great job you have been doing.

  • @ScrapinOMACindi Thank you, Cindi! Most people have been very sweet here, I can't complain, but my fear is always being called a charlatan!! Hahaha!!

  • very helpful! thanks for posting!

  • @Chycoco89 That's so sweet, thank you!!!

  • i love your voice :)

  • @PinkGlitter098 Thank you!!!

  • I watched this video at least 3 times while i did my own for the 1st time. Thank you so very much. My nails did come out nice!! I'm still practicing, but wow.. Loved your vid!! I will subscribe and look forward to your next vids on how to design. <3

  • @TheLashondabaker I appreciate that, thank you!!

  • I tried to do my nails at home and they came out looking scary....in a bad way...and then I had a really fun time trying to take them off...I gave up trying to do my acrylic nails at home..:(

  • @danac411 I'm sorry you had a bad experience with it. It takes time and practice, maybe you'll try it again some time!! (:

  • So far your video is the best! your nails look very nice. Great job! Thank you for posting!

  • @chuzka2 That's very kind, thank you so much!!

  • yay thank you.

  • @MarionSATX Great! I'm glad you liked it!! (:

  • This is by far the best video on how to do acrylics I am subbing

  • @Amazzingbby That is a wonderful compliment, thank you!!

  • thank you for this

im barly getting into nails (im 10) and i want to get into acrylics and my mom let me so this helped very much and i get my stuff from maytheps do u still order stuff from there?

  • @mrsnailfreak I have only bought from them once, but I do like them!! Good luck and be very careful with the use of acrylics!!

  • @vianneylu1 thanx and I'll try

  • do you cure the acrylic? cause I'm doing gel nail, I would like to try with acrylic! does acrylic soak off like soak off gel? thanks for your answer, your video is great!

  • @korubaka Acrylic powder and monomer air dry. If you use a uv coat on top of it, you need to cure the top coat. Yes, it does soak off.

  • I love your video. Just what I was looking for. Btw I love your ring!

  • @tmspeak Thank you so much, that's very kind!

  • Wow, so many steps! Did you end up doing a decorating video? If so, i would lke to see it !:)

  • @a76b9 I did, I'll send you the link if I can.

  • sally dont carry countor anymore

  • @Gioangel2001 I know, so sad...

  • @vianneylu1 i work at @ sally, i had to go back to the 1st store i worked at just to get whatever i can because they still had them. the one im at right now was a new store then so they never had carried them.

  • you said you baught that nail drill from ebay i've been looking on ebay to buy it but the results show me the pink one, what exact seller is the one that sells the good nail drill not the pink one?

  • @roccamocca91 Sorry, I bought it like 6 years ago, and don't have that info. They do sell abetter drill on eBay than that pink one, just search for manicure drill.

  • Great video... what is the difference between full tips snd french tips on bf's site?

  • @bravebird1908 The "full tip" is like a Lee press-on nail (it covers the whole nail bed), and the "french tips" are just the tip, and you cover it with your acrylic like I did in this video.

  • So helpful! THANK YOU!

  • @XxEssexgirl96xX I'm so happy to help!

  • Thank u. U encourage me to do nails again I had gave up

  • @MIZZDIHMONZHEIGHT Great! Thanks for watching!!

  • Omg thank so much, you're the best one how to do acrylic nails. I want to learn so bad.;) happy new year

  • @MsBlankie67 Thank you so much, I'm happy to help!!

  • thank you this ´was soo helpfull! :D

  • @mansegris I'm so glad, thanks for letting me know!

  • @Millie3030 No, some primers are "acidless" and a lot of people are trending toward those. Honestly, no primer has ever stung my cuticles, but I still apply if very carefully to avoid the cuticles. What it is, is that you can develop an allergy to it, and then can never use it again. That's the main reason to keep away from the cuticles.

  • I was able to get the same primer at Sally's , I was using a primer when they popped off but I think the brand may not have been that great, so we'll see :)

  • @welshcar Great, I love it. Make sure to remove the shine from your nails, apply two coats of primer, and make sure to pat on your acrylic very well. Maybe you had a very light hand and it was just sitting on top as opposed to creating a real bond with the nail.

  • Awesome tutorial, I keep having problems with my acrylic nails took them off yesterday because the entire thing keeps popping off, going to go to sallys today and buy some of the products you have maybe that will help :)

  • @welshcar Definitely use primer, I've never had a whole nail pop off. Try a primer, I hope that helps.

  • i always come back to this vid thank you so much you taght me how to do it

  • @danceismylove33 That's so sweet! Thank you!!!

  • The best explanatory video ever!!!

  • @nbabyj Thank you soooo much!

  • I work @ Sally! The B.C.C. comes in handy && our products ARE BETTER THAN WALMART!!!!

  • @MODELlCHIiCk10 Thank you, I'm so jealous, - looove Sally's!

  • Thank you for taking time to actually show the steps, many people do it in a ten minute video with outmuch detail. when it was time for me to try I didnt understand as to why it took so long to get done..

  • @smithity Thank you, I appreciate that!!! (:

  • is that a 9 watt uv lamp?

  • @stacey82710 It is a 9 watt uv lamp, it works really well.

  • what kind of brush did you say ?

  • @OxAniitaxO I think I used a 12 in this video, but I like 8 ovals.

  • @vianneylu1 oh no what kinda of brush hair or whats the brush called?

  • @OxAniitaxO I'm sorry, you want to use a pure sable brush (Kolinsky is the best). Brushes made from synthetic bristles can melt or clump up.

  • @vianneylu1 thanks i was wondering why the acrylic would keep clumping up in the brushes , thanks for the tip. looks like i should invest in a good brush.

  • Heeey this was helpful thankks. i've seen your videos before and as i was going threw your videos i noticed i've watched quite a few so i dont know why i've never subscribed to you before but happy i am now.

  • @OxAniitaxO LOL! That happens!!

  • ya, it definitly takes time. When I first started it would take me all day, no joke, now I'm at about 2 to 3 hours. Most of the time spent on my right hand since I'm right handed. Practice, practice, practice...... Oh and I have the pink drill, and I've never had that problem, hmmm.

  • @classytips27 How funny, I hear about 50/50 that either the drill is wonderful or junk! My better variable speed drill is awesome, and I can push as hard as I need to on it to file down my nails. That pink one stops if I put any kind of pressure, it will work, it just takes all day! Thanks!! (:

  • what do u if u dont want to use UV top coat, and no UV lamp just normal top coat?

  • @ZeroSaiinTz Yep, whatever shiniest top coat that you have!

  • Thnx! I green tips and red stripes with silver line underneath! Happy holidays! -3

  • I just got acrylic today!

  • @mustangparidise How exciting! Have fun with it!!

  • Omg I got this I can do my own nails thanks u this video what's the bomb and u should open ur own biz u do them so good

  • @iloveubabychris That's so sweet, I hope you have great success with it!!

  • hey, i want those from ebay those nails, how much did u get them for and how many of those nails did u get in tha set. Thanks xx

  • @rabani42 Wow, this was a looong time ago. It was a set of 100, and they were only like $2 or $3!! Lots of sellers offer them on eBay.

  • Ahh this is brilliant! Exactly the explanantion I needed.. Going to do my own in a minute :) Thankyou so much!

  • @EmmmaaC Oh, great!!! Thanks for watching!

  • Comment removed

  • i would like to thank you for this video. because of i was able to do my sisters nails. and they look great i love the way you explain all of your steps. once again thank you :-)

  • @wicked22783 WooHoo! That's what I love to hear!! Thank you for taking the time to tell me this!

  • I put this video to my favorites.

  • @8523damaris Thank you so much!!

  • i really love your nails videos, i think you should do more :) subed btw :)

  • @brokenoverdose Thanks for subbing, I hope to do lots more!!

  • Thank you !!! VERY helpful, and live that it's real time :)))

  • @Tnbrown4 Thank you, I'm glad that this helped you!!

  • If I don't use a gel light or anything gel related besides the gel top coat, will it do anything? Like, I want to just do acrylic nails not the gel part (cause I never really understood it nor have the materials) but I want to get the gel top coat, if that makes any sense.

  • @sweetnibblets0x Yes, there are lots of gel top coats, and you can use them with acrylic nails. If it is a "UV Gel" then you need to cure it with a lamp. If it's a gel top coat, then you don't need the lamp. Read the package directions, and then you'll know what's required.

  • you did really good for a none professial but no offense NO OFFENSE you talk entirely too much i aint hating either just SAYINN

  • @thefirstprettylady I'm a talker, and my viewers' comments are usually appreciative of the info that I give. I hate watching tutorials where the info is just not there, so I go overboard!! (:

  • One tip - dont use glue that you get when you order tips from ebay. that glue is worthless! buy glue from NSI/ezflow. they're really the best! =)

  • @TheNailsNstuff Yeah, those skinny tubes are junk sometimes, I do like the larger bottle that some come with. It works great.

  • Thanks for doing this video, helped me out a lot... I know where I've been going wrong now hehe :D

  • @AngelDX3 LOL! I'm glad I can help!!

  • Thank you so much for this video! I always am a fan of DIY and loved your video it has been one of the best by far i have seen. I do have a questions tho. What products did you use? Where did you get them from?
