  • ISR uses RISC CPUs! who are you?!

  • @edikmkoyan the 7200 uses PowerPC (short for Performance Optimization With Enhanced RISC) CPU's and the 6500 use MIPS 600mhz CPU's which is also RISC

  • @bufo333 yes and almost all cisco devices, they are not using celeron like juniper, and believe me ios is ineradicable, at least juniper has nothing to compare with cisco's command line interface, and about versioning: IOS has tcl interpreter in it, you can add any functionality that offer any vendor. The redundancy is another song where cisco rocks and juniper does not! Unfortunately and objectively the only real benefit juniper can offer is the lower price, which is growing buy theway

  • HOW COMPARTIBLE IS A JUNOS SYSTEM IF IT IS MIXED WITH A CISCO NETWORK , WILL IT WORK? OR THEY ARE TOTALLY INCOMPARTIBLE SYSTEMS?

  • @vivauruguay Yeah, because of the pervasiveness of Cisco, Juniper has to interop. It's common to see both systems in networks today.

  • @vivauruguay they are somewhere incompatible, ospf and bgp is the weak part.

  • can any one suggest how to know basic commands for juniper exmple.how to configure VLAN in switchs, how to configure ip per interface..and run difference routing protocol in router

  • @aatishkashyap001 Juniper has produced some day one books to help get you started. Just go to their website and search for "day one". Also a good book that helped me out was Junos Cookbook. It's more router focused than switching however.

  • what's the password?

  • @mpaulino710 , for factory-default the password is empty, just t press Enter, and that is it.

  • @edmases but that is possible only via console connection, if you've assigned an ip address to an interface and configured telnet and ssh, but didn't set enable pass, it will not let you in via vty line session.

  • Sorry for the stupid question, but does anyone know why root has a % and not a #? I'm just learning here, so be nice.

  • @davisj10 , when you login with root user, you enter to Shell mode, the simbol % means shell. you must to enter "cli" to enter in the command line interface.

  • oops sorry my mistake

  • do you know where i can find an ios image for junos? I need it for GNS3

  • @Niaggalover it's JUNOS, not IOS. You can download it from the Juniper website with a valid support contract.

  • @bsdaemon666 both junos and ios can be used in gns3 without any contract and licensing, you should only put on a liiiitle black hat, but only for learning purposes!:)
