  • There are guitar pickers.....and there are guitar pickers.. and of course there are guitar pickers

and then there's Jerry Reid.......nuff' said? Yeah man!!

  • Gotta' miss the Snowman!...

  • Jerry created his own musical gerne. This sounds more like jazz and blues than country og bluegrass. Simply Jerry style

  • If anyone has My Last Impersanation by Jerry would you please put e. on youtube

    Thanks

  • The world is a hell of a lot intresting without these two guys.

  • nobody could play a riff like jerry reed

  • Reminds me of Maynard.

  • it kind of shows how good Jerry is when Johnny Cash introduces him.

  • You could tell this boy was having fun doing what he did!

  • I noticed 9 people dislike this clip of Jerry Reed!!!! What the..... one of my inspirations. I listen to or attempt to play JR style every day.

  • 9 deputies that work for Buford T. Justice are still looking for Snowman and Bandit

  • great musician! great artist!

  • awesome

  • Jerry isn't good, he's GREAT! Best version of this period, Jerry's got freakin' rhythm that just effortlessly oozes from him - what a pleasure to listen and watch him.

  • Jerry's widdow has this guitar.

  • Johnny was only five years older than Jerry. Two true legends.

  • Thats the stairway to heaven behind him. RIP SNOWMAN

  • As a player myself I have nothing but the upmost respect and admiration for Jerry Reed. This is him at his picking best.

  • Why did he have somebody chop a guitar like that? I'm sure he had a good reason, but I don't play and have no idea

  • Gotta love that johnny cash intro...

  • How does this video have 8 dislikes? Who in the hell doesn't like Jerry Reed?? I bet all 8 of those dislikes are guitar players and they are intimidated by Jerry's pickin' !!

  • @KLUNKET the 8 belong to the b.t justice clan.

  • Always good to see your Jerry Reed posts, muzikman74, excellent as always.

  • is that cash as host?

  • @MrPeiceofmind666

    Yeah! :)

  • @MrPeiceofmind666

    Yes Sir Mr Johnny C.

  • Ive heard this song a million times but this version is absolutely my favorite. He has such a good voice and his guitar picking is so wonderful. Great sound.

  • This rocks!!!!!! Where would music be without ground-breakers like this. Wonderful.

  • Jerry was a one of a kind. No he didn't go with the Elvis version nor the original...This is the funky honky tonky Jerry Reed version. I bet he's doing his thing up in the clouds. RIP brother!

  • i ~LOVE~YOU~JERRY&JOHNNY.....THE WORLD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT YA'LL!!!!~sioux~

  • jerry!!!!! the mothafuckin guitar man!!!! i love him to death!!!

  • @BadVizion for real !!!!

  • whats the bongos on that one. I think he was Jazzing it up a bit. I dont think its needed though. Blue moon of Kentucky keep shining bright allright bye,bye

  • Americas two best,Johnny and Jerry, miss them

  • How long have Chet and Jerry been playing together?

  • pick that guitar, Jerry!

  • johnny and jerry.......you are missed brothers.....

  • Watch Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins video of Jerry's Breakdown and you will see the "chopped" version. He made a home made cutaway.

  • And Johnny!

  • rip jerry

  • what do you mean before he chopped ot

  • @skynyrdsbyrd83

He chopped a piece off of the lower right corner to make it a cutaway so he could reach the higher frets. If I'm not mistaken it's the same guitar as the one he uses in the first video that comes up of him and Chet playing Jerry's Breakdown when you search his name.

  • Jerry and Johnny, two legends.

    I miss them both.

Hope they record some good songs up there.

  • Play with spanish guitar, excelent !!

  • with you, the music died. RIP Jerry

  • I like this version the best out of all the ones I have heard

  • its such a shame he died! :(

  • jerry, why did you go? hell, i'd have given my exwife in your place. (and my ex mother in law) nice to see that standard shit eating grin always on his face. imagine that... he actually liked what he was doing.

  • Just smokin. Damn he can carry a tune. What a cool little finish.

  • luve it cant help it but i have 2 listen 2 jerry reed everytime im on here

    gr8 man R.I.P Snowman

    xxxorange hawkxxx

  • no it is not you shit eating asshole. elvis is great but Jerry Reed takes everything and makes it better. Jerry Reed just IS better. I mean, the king of rock and roll, mr. Elvis Presley himself, needed Jerry Reed to play guitar in one of his covers, because Elvis claimed "I need to get this right, just like Jerry played it in his original version!" It was of the song "Guitar Man". Son, Elvis is good...........but Jerry's the real king. Jerry and Johnny, will both be missed.

  • @TheBandit77TransAm I think if you had said that to jerry he would have kicked your ass for being so stupid! he loved elvis and playing for him was something he talked about with effection. jerry was an awsome guitar picker and song writer but he wasnt a huge star in the scale of things, he was a big star .

  • R.I.P J.R and J.C

  • Haha, same here, man, this video is already worth 5 stars for the presence of mr. Cash and mr. Hubbard

  • LOL! Johnny and Jerry, what a treat!

    Thanks

  • yea, Jerry was from Atlanta.

  • i like the close up at 1:32

  • This is such a great version of this song. Jerry's smiling the whole time!

  • I love this man!!!!

  • REED IS FROM ALABAMMA

  • Sorry, not true.

He was born outside Atlanta Georgia.

  • Nice to see how a Georgia boy does Blue Moon of Kentucky. Love it!!!

  • Jerry had someone chop a cutaway in it and it now belongs to Paul Yandell. You can see it on his website guitar gallery.

  • Why does he sounds so much like Bill Whithers?

  • thats an interesting observation. i've really been getting into bill lately

  • @muzikman74 I read somewhere that he (or whoever did it to the guitar) put it in a vice and just sawed out a big chunk with a hacksaw or some odd inacurate tool, and sanded it down so it was straight..

  • what happened to the guitar?

    would you tell us?

    Thank you.

  • Hi :)

LOL the comments here are silly Sf
