What kind of magic was running through the halls of Motown that a song like this (a really, really great, beautiful song) would go UNRELEASED? This is one of my favorite Marvin songs, period. I first heard it on the Marvin Gaye Anthology and thought it was just another great song that Motown released. I can't believe they didn't release this back then.
Well, I was looking for a different song when I found this! ;-) Wow, could that man sing! I just love Marvin Gaye-- and all the rest that flashed by in the video! Very Cool! Thanks for posting. 5 stars!
Love this track so much we had it as our wedding song.Recorded off the original acetate by a good friend who traveled to the USA to purchase rare soul vinyl, and eleven years later we still play it and love it more every time.xxx
I used to wonder why too, until I found out that they used to have to stick to a time schedule for release's, plus Berry Gordy was a perfectionist, (like me!!) just think there's THOUSANDS of unreleased tracks in Motown's vault that haven't seen the light of day, a great shame I think. The good news is, they are now adding them to CD's and I've got quite a few ;-)
@THESILENTBOATMAN Crazy isn't it! I think they did a lot of stunning alternate cuts, for example the bonus tracks on Whats Goin' On are incredible, so the stuff we've never heard must be just as good as what we have

It's a great song, great songs and Marvin Gaye will alway's go together hand in hand.
I first came across this track on a CD entitled "tamla motown- big hits & hard to find classics-vol 4", I purchased it in England.
