Having worked in this field for years, wells break and/or eventually go dry. Then what? In my opinion, Michael Pritchard's water filter that makes filthy water drinkable is a better and cheaper option. Charity:W is just a fundraising organization 3 yrs. old. No long term studies of the depletion of the water table is documented on their site. I wish they had a better strategic plan than just "donate".
Well thank the Lord, God gave me a heart for the weak and I have 2 of those starving children from Africa in my home and the joy they have in their heart and the prayers they say for people like you who do not have the love of Jesus in their hearts makes them very strong. Thanks to God they will bless the future generation and give to society instead of just take. They know what it is like to be in need. WE pray that God will soften your angry heart. The JOY of the Lord is OUR stregnth!
I am a very caring person, I've just been molded differently than you through my walk. I've seen weak and dying, have you?
It seems like a great idea to try and save the world, but let's think realistically.
There will always be poverty, death and famine... So my opinion is that we should focus our resources as human beings on ours strengths instead of our weaknesses.
They are called poorest third world countries for no reason. Such as in Africa no money resulted in no education, no food, no clothing, no production etc.
Thats why Africa became unmodernized and regressive.
Why are you being so ignorant?
I don't get it. You think this is a game,
Survival of the fittest?!. Everyman deserves to live and have anything as much as you do.
Ancient Romans were able to engineer aqueducts, dams and dig wells 2,000 plus years ago. If these people can't at least catch up to technologies that are 2,000 years old then they deserve shitty water.
But do remember, after the fall of the Roman Empire a lot of the technology of the Romans was lost. For example they invented concrete but it was "reinvented" some time after the fall of the Roman Empire.
--
In any case, I bet you anything that those people could engineer suitable methods of getting water, its just that they would need time and money. I doubt they have a lot in terms of money.
Wow, Romans, the ones who controlled the known world. Many countries in Afirca can barely control them selves. The people are living on less than 2 dollars per day. Many of these people dont have money, education, or health. This is the whole point of giving, humanitarism, and not being selfish. But i suppose that its better to let them get sick, die, and further deteriorate because that would help them think of some aqueducts? wtf? they deserve shitty water? What have you done for your water?
80% of illness can be avoided with clean water. The beauty of this charity is once a well is installed, water flows day after day after day. This is truly a gift that keeps giving. And for whoever said, help here at home first. Where is home? this is a world wide charity and even youtube is worldwide. Please don't be so narrow-minded. The world helps the world. That's humankind
just beautiful, this is what happens when we are in touch with that source that keeps us real..we connect with others and think outside ourselves and it is soooo sooo beautiful to see in action. inspiring!
When they dig wells in areas that are dry and parched, they upset the geological/hydrological makeup of the area. Even though they're trying to help one area, they cause more harm to the overall region.
his determination is so inspiring...there's nothing i love more than people coming together with a mind set to help others...that's the way it should be
So, why not got there and live their lives for just a month and see how well you survive, and OH YEAH! you have to drink that same dirty water that they have been drinking all of their lives. Maybe then some compassion will come, along with the parasites.
so if you were the one with the crappy water, you would think "oh its ok. its just survival of the fittest." really? well i would be like "dang. i wish i could have some clean water so i don't DIE."
It really is amazing what some people can do when they try. Scott Harrison you have done a wonderful job. I hope you have many people who will want to help you continue with your work.
That and stop having so many civil wars. They cannot get along with each other and we think they care about the help we offer? Take care of the ones here at home first. Whats sad, there could be a man and a dog laying next to each other dying and PETA would go help the dog, screw the guy would be their opinion. People have their priorities F'ed up!They want the soldiers home, but who cares if they are homeless after they get here, just as long as we stop the war! What a sad point of view.
For given 44 nations need more development of water, how long it would take and who go into water issues? Also wouldn't it nice to look at global sponsership in that nature saving activities.

You have to think about MONEY!

The truth is all the African countries used to be fine until the Europeans colonized them.

some people don't know the difference between being "fit" and being "wealthy". Most "upper-class" folks wouldn't survive a day in poverty.
